French paradise in Denmark

post

This is Christina L. Jensen’s apartment, a french paradise in Denmark. She likes to take her sister and parents to France and shop the many flea markets, where you can find the prettiest things for no money. What I like most about this home is the floors, ceilings and bare wall in the kitchen. The painting in the living room is Christina’s own work, which adds a lot of personality to the place. Höst restaurant by Norm Architects

post

Norm Architects did an excellent job designing this beautiful Scandinavian restaurant. By using using recycled wood, industrial lamps and modern design elements, they succeeded in combining the traditional Scandinavian coziness with minimalism. The tableware collection was designed especially for the restaurant. Reclaimed wood is used throughout the interior to create rustic yet contemporary atmosphere.

“We tried to see if we could find a balance where the interior, the dinnerware and the food told the same story, without it being too old-fashioned or too much of a theatrical backdrop,” said designer Bjerre-Poulsen.

Gem Carpet – Normann Copenhagen

post

One of my favorite Danish design brands, Normann Copenhagen, released a new series of Gem Carpets in tree colors (shades of blue, grey and purple). Designer Anne Lehmann got her inspiration for the asymmetrical shape and three-dimensional effect comes from nature’s flint stones, minerals and precious stones. The idea behind the Gem rugs came from the inspiration she took from the crystal structures in minerals such as amethyst, quartz and pyrite, which are not defined by an oval or square shape, but rather by asymmetrical facets.
