Like many of you, I have always been a fan of their work  — as you might have seen from the number of their pictures in this blog.

This was my first collaboration with Fantastic Frank, and it was great. I am very happy with the results and excited to share them with you.

It was great to style this all white and brightly lit apartment. It felt like getting a clean white canvas to fill up with objects, prints and furniture of my choice. I went for a very clean and simple styling with my current favorite objects. I even had the opportunity to try out my latest print project ‘Mountain ABC’, which I hope to share with you soon.

I  love how the photographs turned out and how the space emphasized the decoration by mirroring it on the smooth white floors. Looking forward to my next styling with Fantastic Frank. Hope you enjoyed seeing this one as much as I enjoyed working on it.

Vorige week had ik de mogelijkheid een appartement in te richten in Berlijn voor Fantastic Frank. Zoals velen onder jullie, ben ik een grote fan van hun werk — zoals je kan zien aan de vele foto’s van hen op deze blog.

Dit was mijn eerste samenwerking met Fantastic Frank en het was geweldig. Ik ben heel blij met de resultaten en enthousiast om ze met jullie te delen.

Het was leuk om deze lichte, witte ruimte te stylen. Het voelde als een leeg wit canvas, dat ik kon opvullen met objecten, prints en meubelen naar mijn keuze. Ik ben gegaan voor een eenvoudige stijl met mijn favoriete objecten. Ik had zelfs de mogelijkheid om mijn nieuwste print ‘Mountain ABC’ uit te proberen, die ik snel met jullie hoop te delen.

Ik ben heel blij met het resultaat van de foto’s en hoe de ruimte de objecten deed opvallen door de reflectie op de witte vloer. Ik kijk al uit naar mijn volgende styling met Fantastic Frank. Ik hoop dat jullie de foto’s mooi vinden. Ik heb in ieder geval veel plezier beleefd met dit project.

Efficient use of space in the kitchen

The cabinets are built around the corner the wall makes and there is no loss of space. I also like how the pans are hung on the metal bars on the door and I’m a big fan of white kitchen tiles with black grout. I saw it appearing in many kitchens already and I like it every time.

Deze keuken maakt gebruik van de beschikbare ruimte op een zeer efficiënte en stijlvolle manier. De kastjes zijn rond het hoekje van de muur geplaatst, om de hele ruimte optimaal te benutten. Ik vind het ook leuk hoe de pannen zijn opgehangen aan de witte tralies aan de muur en ben een grote fan van de witte tegeltjes met zwarte voegen. Gelijkaardige tegeltjes heb ik al in veel keukens zien opduiken, en ik ben er elke keer weg van.

DIY desk tray

Over the weekend I made this DIY tray to put on my desk for some of my office supplies. I think it turned out quite nice, so I decide to share it with you on the blog. I used a very lightweight wood, actually it’s almost like cardboard. You can find it in any do-it-yourself store. This wood is not made to make sturdy things, but for a desk tray it’s perfectly fine and the big advantage is that it’s very easy to cut with a normal hand saw (no heavy tools required). I cut out the bottom part and the four sides separately and glued them together with wood glue. When the glue dried completely, I painted the tray white (it needed two layers).

Dit weekend maakte ik dit plateautje voor op mijn bureau om een paar kantoorspulletjes in kwijt te geraken. Ik vond dat het resultaat er wel mocht zijn, daarom besloot ik het met jullie te delen. Ik heb een super licht hout gebruikt (bijna zo licht als karton). Je kan het in alle doe-het-zelf zaken kopen. Je kan er geen echt stevige dingen mee maken, maar voor dit plateautje is het wel geschikt. Het grote voordeel van dit hout is ook dat het heel makkelijk zaagt met een gewone handzaag. Ik heb het onderstuk en de vier kanten apart uitgesneden en dan aan elkaar gelijmd. Wanneer de lijm droog was heb ik het ook nog een laagje witte verf gegeven (twee laagjes om specifiek te zijn).

Tomato plant in the living room

We bought this small tomato plant last week and now I’m secertly hoping I will be harvesting many tomatoes soon. I should probably not get my hopes up to high, at least now I can already enjoy the bright green touch it gives to our living room.

Vorige week kochten we een klein tomatenplantje. Heimelijk hoop ik volgende week tomaten te kunnen oogsten, maar daar moet ik waarschijnlijk niet te hard op hopen. In ieder geval brengt dit plantje met zijn licht groene kleur een leuke touch aan onze woonkamer.

Breakfast Love

I love breakfast. I could sit on the breakfast table forever, just talking, drinking coffee and enjoying all the tasty breakfast food there is. I’m one of these people that could eat breakfast food all day and often try to make my own bread. The oven and the fresh smell of the homemade bread instantly puts a smile on my face. The perfect start of the weekend for me. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well !
