The owners of this wonderful industrial apartment remodeled an old button factory in Paris. They wanted to keep the industrial feel to it, but at the same time add some vintage elements, woods and delicate glass and porcelain. I like this contrast of hard and soft a lot.

De eigenaars van dit appartement in industriële stijl bouwden een oude Parijse knopenfabriek om tot wat het nu is. Ze behielden de industriële stijl maar voegden vintage elementen, hout en delicaat glas en porselein toe om het geheel wat zachter te maken. Ik hou van deze combinatie van hard en zacht.

I love the mix of modern and vintage in this Berlin apartment featured on the Desire to Inspire blog. The whole interior is kept quite simple, with vintage and modern essentials. Combined with the hard wood floor, old doors and the high windows, this makes for a gorgeous apartment. I would move in a second !
—Ik hou van de mix van modern en vintage in dit Berlijns appartement dat werd gepubliceerd op de Desire to Inspire blog. Het interieur is vrij simpel, met vintage en moderne meubelen en objecten. Dit gecombineerd met de houten vloer, de oude deuren en de hoge plafonds maakt dit een perfect appartement, ik zou direct verhuizen!

Home with vintage elements

There´s something about vintage furniture pieces. They make a home look original and personal. Other than the built quality, vintage pieces usually tell a story. Finding out and fantasizing about where a chair or table came from, who the person was that owned it and the reason why he or she bought this piece of furniture make it a unique experience, which you could never have with a new piece. Personally, I like vintage the most when it is combined with a few newer pieces. Old and new go really well together if you ask me.
