Photographers’ apartment
I think this home of photographer Jakob Nylund made his way around many blogs last year, but somehow I bumped back into it, and I still love it so much. I think it’s a simple but very inspiring place, with a lot of nice vintage and design items.

Ik denk dat deze woning van fotograaf Jakob Nylund vorig jaar al is gepost op vele blogs, maar ik was er opeens terug opgebotst. Ik vind zijn woning nog altijd heel inspirerend en simpel.

Metal and Birch containers
I really like the combination of the Birch wood and the metals on these Säilö containers designed by Matti Syrjälä. They come in six different sizes, in copper and brass. I would love to fill my kitchen with those.

Ik vind de combinatie van het berken hout en de metalen bij deze Säilö containers ontworpen door Matti Syrjälä erg geslaagd. De opbergdozen komen in zes verschillende maten, in koper en brons. Ik zou graag mijn hele keuken hiermee vullen.

Wood beams and Lounge
What I love most about this home is the wood beams sticking out of the roof. They give the house so much character. I guess the Eames lounge chair doesn’t harm the interior either.

Dit is een heel stijlvolle woning, maar wat ik echt het mooist vind zijn de houten steunbalken in het dak. Deze geven het huis echt karakter. De Eames lounge chair kan natuurlijk ook geen kwaad.

Things around here
Some pictures of our home, right after I cleaned this weekend. Now it already looks very different (in a messy way).

Een paar foto’s van ons appartement, vlak nadat ik gekuist had dit weekend. Nu ziet het er al helemaal anders uit (helemaal rommelig).
Oma floor lamp
The Oma-floor lamp (oma is Finnish for ”own”), designed by Katriina Nuutinen consists of a wrought-iron tripod base and a glass cover that has been mouth blown into a mold. I like that one leg is bend and the others are straight.

De Oma staanlamp (oma is Fins voor “eigen”) is ontworpen door Katriina Nuutinen and bestaat uit een ijzeren driepoot en een mondgeblazen kopstuk. Ik vind het vooral leuk dat 1 been gebogen is en de andere twee recht zijn.

All Concrete
The mood of these pictures is rather dark, but somehow I’m really drawn to it. The fact that all walls and floors in this home are concrete is special and makes the few furniture elements stand out a lot. Even though I would like to have a little more coziness in my own home, I really like this style.

Hoewel de sfeer in deze foto’s nogal donker is, ben ik er echt tot aangetrokken. Het heeft iets unieks en speciaal dat alle muren en vloeren uit beton zijn gemaakt. Dit maakt dat de weinige meubelen die er in deze woning geplaatst zijn er echt uitspringen. Ik zou graag wat meer gezelligheid hebben in onze woning, maar ik vind deze stijl toch ook iets hebben.

Clothes rack as decoration
A clothes rack can be a nice addition in a bedroom or hallway to display a nice set of clothes. It’s not only functional, but it can be really pretty and stylish, as you can see in these six examples.
