I think this is just such an amazing home. Obviously I really like all the furniture and carefully chosen accessories, but what I find very special about this space is the use of black paint to give some extra dimension to the home. The living room is painted black (or very dark grey, not sure) only on two walls, which makes it very interesting. The small closet in the bedroom is painted black as well, which gives it a little bit of a cave effect actually, especially with the white vest hanging there.

Wow. This is gorgeous. My kind of home. I love black and will incorporate it into everything. I want a couple of black walls when I get my dream house.

I really like this effect as well 😉 I’m not brave enough for a black wall, but might go for darker grey instead in our home 😉

  4. I love how well this pops amidst the sun-spilled room. I believe our house is a bit too shady for a black statement wall like this. Is that something to worry about? (A black wall in a house that receives only very filtered light because of the thick canopy above the roof?)

Hi Jess, yes I think you should only paint rooms (partially) black when they get a lot of natural light. Otherwise the painted wall will make the room so much more smaller and everything will be very dark. 😉
