Last weekend we decided to extend a trip to Belgium, to visit Noordwijk at the Dutch coastline and enjoy a couple of sunny days at the North Sea. We stayed at Vesper, a great spot for design lovers to take a break. The hotel was recently opened after a renovation that restored it’s original look from the nineteenth century.

We explored different rooms at hotel Vesper, and saw a beautiful combination of modern design elements, art pieces and vintage furniture carefully hunted for at antique Parisian markets. Each room had a different color, representing a different theme and I naturally asked to stay at a “Pure” white room. Our room was very bright, tastefully decorated and cozy, with a very comfortable and cushiony handmade mattress. The highlight of the room was a beautiful raised bathroom, with a relaxing bathtub with view to the sea.

“Vesper” in Dutch, means the moment when the sun sets into the sea, and at the evening we witnessed a beautiful one. The sunset was accentuated by the sunlight reflected in the brass panels of the large cabinet that extends until the roof.

I will always have a weak spot for good design, especially when combined with friendly service, cozy atmosphere, great food and a sunny beach. The perfect recipe for a relaxing weekend.
