I live in the center of Munich and don’t have such a big apartment. Even though I’m super happy with my setup and the way I have decorated it, something that I find really challenging is the laundry area. I have a separate closet in my hallway where the washer and dryer are hidden, but it’s all the things that come with it that bother me, so I decided to do some research and share my solutions for doing laundry in a small apartment. Not all of these are space saving solutions, some are just things I find interesting for laundry in general, regardless of how much space have available.
Linn clothes rack – Number one on my list of annoying things about having to do laundry in a city apartment is the drying rack. I prefer to air dry most of my clothes but I hate the fact that the drying rack takes up almost an entire room and this for such a long time. I stumbled upon this perfect solution from Brabantia – the Linn Clothes rack – which combines a drying rack with a clothing rack and can be placed in the bedroom or hallway for hanging jackets or clothes.
Wool & Silk wash from Arket* – A mild and biodegradable detergent specifically developed for delicate textiles with natural lanolin and a wool wax that helps to protect and maintain the material’s moisture-repelling properties.
Iris Hantverk cedar wood balls* – The fragrance of the red cedar wood works as a natural pest repellent and adds a refreshing scent to your wardrobe, keeping your clothes fresh for longer.
Iris Hantverk hooks* – A versatile 7-hook rack made of birch wood which you can hang on the wall for cleaning supplies.
Guppyfriend Washing Bag* – this washing bag is a filtering solution that prevents synthetic microfibre pollution during the laundry. Created by German non-profit organisation STOP! Micro Waste
Laundry baskets from Arket* and Muuto* – when you live in a small place you probably have to use the bathroom or bedroom for storing your dirty laundry. I use the bathroom and I prefer different baskets for my laundry. They look nice together and I like that you can sort your laundry straight away.
This blogpost was created in collaboration with Brabantia, however all opinions are my own of course.
