I can’t believe we are nearing the end of August already, how did the summer pass so quickly ? I really hope we will be getting some summer days until late September, but I think you can already notice the early fall light at home, which makes me want to add blankets and candles into every room. During the summer months, I have spend as little time as possible in my bedroom, just trying to stay cool while sleeping, but when it will get colder, I like my bedroom to be a place where I can relax and feel calm and it’s so important to me that it looks and feels cozy and inviting.
I’ve teamed up with Connox to give my bedroom a fall makeover and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I have known their webshop for a very long time (they are celebrating their 15th birthday this year!) and they are my go-to interior webshop as they have the main nordic brands next to a wide range of smaller independent interior brands and timeless design classics, curated in a very nice way.
I transformed my bedroom with a range of their accessories and textiles, starting off with a mixture of blankets and pillow cases for a cozy look. I used the HAY mono wool blanket in ‘milk tea’ (perfect color description) combined with a lighter wool blanket from &tradition and a sheepskin, which I think look so wonderful together. During the day I like to have throw pillows on the bed for a finished look, but also to be able to read there and sit comfortably. I worked with a mixture of pillows in different textiles and I love how these different weaves and textures of the pillows and blankets play together and make this look interesting.
My Montana bedside table next to the bed is the ideal spot for the eye-catching Formakami JH18 table lamp. I have the pendant version in my living room as well and I love the simple shape and soft diffused light this lamp brings to the room. I’ve used the HAY colored boxes underneath to create some extra storage space (here and everywhere else in my home, I think I have 10 of these boxes by now, big fan).
On my peg rail, I added the most beautiful hanger from Skagerak, which comes in handy for my bathrobe. I love the simple design of this hanger, with a leather chord to attach and two spots for hanging. The Muuto restore basket is ideal for storing extra pillows and blankets not currently in use.
When I decorate my home, I like to start off with basic and timeless furniture pieces that can stand the test of time and let the textiles and accessories do the work. I think so much can be achieved by changing up the smaller things and as someone that likes to re-style a space, they are my go-to solution for transforming a room with the seasons.
Now I will light this beautiful candle, enjoy my coffee and browse through these Aalto and Bauhaus design books. A perfect Sunday moment if you ask me !
