This beautiful apartment in Sweden (Styled by Emma Fischer, and photographed by Anders Bergstedt for Alvhem) features amazing wall color choices. A gorgeous olive wall color steals the show in the living room, where it is paired with a light color palette in the furniture and textiles, and a few black and brown accent tones to add some contrast.
The open-plan living room goes over into a kitchen and dining space with white kitchen cabinets, wood countertops, and black hardware that comes back in the black leather seats of the dining chairs.
The bedroom is painted in a beautiful shade of greige, from which the light bedsheets and black accent bedside tables stand out. A black home office desk provides a lovely spot to get some work done from the bedroom.
An open-plan living room with olive green walls
The olive green wall color is what stands out most in the living space. The deep muted wall color brings out the white crown molding below the ceiling and it contrasts nicely with the white-soaped hardwood flooring.
The wall color is paired with an Ikea sofa with a custom linen cover* and a white fluffy area rug adds a bit more texture to the sofa area. The sheer white linen curtains in front of the window lighten up the palette and the wood and leather tones in the armchair and the coffee table add a natural touch to the setting.
The mix of throw pillows on the sofa paired with the two elegant art prints on the wall provide the color palette with a mixture of brown, beige, and grey tones to finish off the look.
The wall that connects the kitchen and the living room is removed to connect the space into an open floor plan.
The entryway of the apartment comes out in the living room. By painting all the walls in the same color, the spaces become visually connected to each other in a nice way.
A white kitchen with black accents and wood countertops
Even though both rooms are connected to each other, the difference in wall color between the kitchen and the living room allows them to be visually separated from each other.
The crisp white walls in the living room are matched by white kitchen cabinets and contrasted by a black dining area and black cabinet hardware.
Two main kitchen modules are separated by a beautiful walk-in pantry in the corner. The module with the stove top is finished with a wood countertop, paired with a minimal white hood that blends into the wall behind it.
The sink module of the kitchen is finished with a stainless steel countertop that matches the faucet. The upper cabinets have glass fronts for a lighter look with subtle light wood inlays, paired with a spot for wine bottles on the side.
The side of the kitchen has an angled corner to fit in front of the kitchen window.
A greige bedroom wall color and a black home office desk
The bedroom has been painted in a dark grey-beige wall color that adds a subtly warm glow to the setting. The beige bedding and the white curtains stand out against this darker wall color and the black bedside tables add a lovely contrast to the space.
The other side of the bedroom is a great spot for a home office section using a black desk paired with a back chair. The standing mirror with the black frame matches the color palette in this corner and it makes the room appear larger.
A peg rail in the wall niche space is a great spot for hanging a selection of clothes and a hand mirror.
The white wardrobe stands out against the greige bedroom walls and matches the white of the door frame.
