A few years back this blog used to be full of monochrome homes, it used to be the thing in Scandinavia and everyone was decorating their homes this way for a long while. After this black and white phase, more grey, beige and muted colors were introduced in interiors, but I still like to see homes like this every once in a while. I think this home looks cozy and inviting, regardless of the lack of color and I love the contrast between the living area, wich is predominantly white, and the bedroom, which has these statement dark grey walls.
The grey (almost black) walls of the bedroom make the Formakami papershade lamp* stand out so nicely and I love the book shelves above the door, which are painted in the same color as the wall. The bed has been made with a combination of light grey linen bedskirt* and a striped beige linen duvet cover* which adds a lot of texture to this otherwise clean space.
I think the black dining table and chairs contrast so nicely in the white kitchen and I love the polka dot paper shade hanging above the table for a playful touch here. I think a home with white walls and floors can easily look too clinical, but if you introduce lots of textures, textiles and patterns it can have character as well.
