Steel and stained oak in an architect’s kitchen

Another beautiful home with a kitchen design from Swedish custom kitchen producer Nordiska Kök, in the home of an architect this time. I always find it so inspiring to take a peek inside the home of designers, artists, or architects and I always expect such a high level of design and personality. Standards must be so high when an interior architect designs their own home.

This lakeside home in Gothenburg explores a contrast between materials, technique, and inspiration. The kitchen, which is placed in the heart of the home is a true example of ‘Handcrafts meet industrial’ with clean lines of stainless steel in harmony with hand-carved solid dark wood cabinets. Both rustic and industrial elements are mixed in this beautiful kitchen space and complement each other in such a nice way.

The contrast of materials is very defined in this space and I love the way the stainless steel kitchen island stands out against the rest of the kitchen.
