High contrast turn-of-the-century home

The contrast in this gorgeous turn-of-the-century Swedish home makes it so special and characterful I think. The difference between the wall colors in each room contrasts so nicely with each other. They look great on their own but also combine wonderfully with the color in the other room. The living room has white walls, which allows the beautiful daylight coming in through those big windows to be reflected off the walls. The cognac leather sofa is a statement piece on the fluffy area rug in this room and I love that it’s placed in the middle of the space.

The adjacent dining room has very dark grey walls, which are almost black, for a certain wow effect. I love the way the painting looks against the dark wall and the white vitrine contrast so nicely against the walls as well. I think the combination of the wood from the dining table and the Wishbone chairs, the black and white on the walls, and the green plant has such a powerful expression in this space.

Just like the living room, the kitchen is bright white, with natural materials in the dining chair to warm things up a bit. The bedroom has been painted in a dark dusty blue, which lets the neutral colors in the bedding and in the gallery wall shine.
