Light gray walls and dark gray kitchen cabinets in an attic apartment

This beautiful one-bedroom attic apartment has been painted almost entirely in a light gray paint color, which is complemented with dark grey kitchen cabinets and a black marble countertop for a contrasting effect.

Even though the apartment has slanted ceilings, it has been decorated in a functional way, leaving enough space for the different functionalities, without making the interior design feel too cramped.

The light gray wall color is applied to the walls, slanted ceiling, and the top ceiling for an integrated effect that adds a bit of a moody touch to the light oakwood flooring. The wall behind the kitchen counter is the only one that was kept white, which makes the contrast with the dark gray cabinets even stronger.

The kitchen features black hardware, a black hood, and black marble countertops which add clean and contrasting lines to the gray kitchen cabinets. Only one higher cupboard is placed on the side away from the window, where there is enough ceiling height. The rest of the kitchen only includes lower modules and open shelving is attached underneath the sloped ceiling for a lighter look.

The dining table has been placed in front of the windows, where a lot of natural light comes in. The light oak wood table is paired up with black Ant chairs from Fritz Hansen and a black Flowerpot pendant light. These black accents complement the details in the kitchen nicely and the small area rug underneath the table visually separates the dining area from the rest of the living kitchen.

Opposed to the dining table, you can find the living room, which has a white fabric sofa and a light area rug to contrast the light gray paint color on the slanted walls. In this section of the space, you can also find black accent pieces like the coffee table and small accessories.

The Etcetera lounge chair adds a sculptural touch to the living room and the Flos Aim pendant is a perfect solution for this living room, as it can adapt to any sloped walls or slanted ceilings.

A DIY home office in a niche space next to the kitchen

In the niche space next to the kitchen, a DIY desk offers a perfect home office spot and it also makes this niche spot useful. The desk is made out of a simple wood plate that is cut to size and two wall brackets.

Just like in the rest of the space, the black accents add contrast to the gray paint color on the slanted ceiling. The black Panthella table lamp and the black stool really seem to pop out against the gray backdrop.

A low-ceiling bedroom with light gray walls

The attic bedroom has much lower ceilings than the rest of the space, which makes it the perfect spot to sleep. By painting the entire room in the same color, a clean and simple look is created that is enhanced by the mixture of different textiles on the bed.

The brass Valerie Objects wall lamp fits perfectly underneath the slanted ceiling and adds an elegant touch to the light gray space.
