This wonderful apartment in Sweden is located in an old industrial building with large black windows that let in an abundance of daylight that spreads throughout the space. The ceilings are so high in fact, that the area above the kitchen could be turned into a loft level that is accessible by a modern metal staircase.
While the bottom level includes a spacious living room, dining room section, and a contemporary kitchen with dark oak kitchen cabinets, when you walk up the stairs, you can find a spacious bedroom and home office spot.
A sofa area with lots of plants in front of the impressive window
The area in front of the large window is an ideal spot for the grey sofa that is decorated with a mixture of throw pillows and two fabric poufs on top of a light beige area rug. The window sill and floor space next to the sofa are used for a combination of various plants that must thrive with the amount of sunlight that comes in.
A minimal white sideboard is spread along the wall next to the sofa, where the TV is included in a gallery wall. This approach makes the TV less apparent in the interior and the long sideboard provides the apartment with extra closed storage space.
A kitchen and dining area with a combination of different wood tones
The dark oak kitchen cabinets combined with the black faucet and the beige stone countertop contrast nicely against the white walls in this loft home. The round dining table with the walnut chairs adds a perfect spot for dining right next to the kitchen, yet it doesn’t take up too much space in the apartment either.
The combination of the green round table, the walnut dining chairs and the dark wood open shelving behind it works nicely on top of the light hardwood flooring. The mixture of artwork on the wall and the sculptural pendant light finishes the look off perfectly.
A bedroom and home office space on the second level
Underneath the curved ceilings of this loft home, you can find a spacious bedroom and home office with a custom built-in wardrobe that turns into a floating desk.
The area next to the bed is finished off with custom curtains that fill the space in between the metal beams. The curtains and custom-built cabinets really finish the look off nicely and hide away the awkward nooks and crannies the old walls of the building create.
The modern metal staircase enhances the industrial look and feel of the space and continues over into a metal banister that separates the second level. I love the contrast between the dark oak wood of the kitchen, the soft beige curtains, and the black metal of the stairs. These three different materials complement each other beautifully.
The built-in wardrobe continues into a floating desk that can be used by two people simultaneously. The computer display is attached to the wall, which frees up desk space and gives the home office a finished and clean look.
The area where the floating desk touches the wardrobe is turned into open shelving, which is ideal for keeping office supplies.
The custom-built wardrobe follows the curves on the ceiling and is constructed out of the same material as the cabinets in the kitchen for a cohesive look.
An elegant hallway with storage behind a curtain
The hallway includes a wardrobe that is hidden behind a custom curtain. This is an easy way to hide storage opportunity and by applying the curtains wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, the space looks very finished and elegant.
The combination of the mirror with the white metal frame and the small table attached to the wall turns this space into an elegant hallway section.
A simple bathroom with small tiles and a black vanity
The combination of the small ceramic tiles, the black wash basin, and the black vanity work nicely in the bathroom. The open shelf combined with the large mirror finishes the look off perfectly.
