This beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden (Styled by Bon Interior, photographed by Maria Sahlander, for sale via Bjurfors) has a spacious living kitchen with ornate crown molding on the ceiling and a gorgeous kitchen with light oak cabinets, and a dark marble backsplash. A kitchen island with lots of storage space separates the cooking area from the cozy kitchen dining table with white dining chairs.
The living room has dark grey walls for a unique, dramatic effect from which a colorful sofa and gallery wall stand out. A custom living room bookshelf is built around the living room door, which is painted in the same color as the walls for an integrated effect.
The bedroom has a beautiful floral pattern wallpaper that adds a subtle romantic touch to the space and the bathroom pairs a gorgeous black marble floor and walk-in shower with a white wall tile.
A light oak kitchen with a dark marble countertop and backsplash
The spacious room with ornate detailing on the ceiling is filled with both a kitchen and a dining area. The kitchen with light oak cabinets is planned out against the back wall, paired with a kitchen island in the middle that contains storage drawers on each side and allows a bottom-heavy kitchen arrangement that looks lighter in the space.
The light oak cabinets are paired with a stainless steel countertop and a dark marble tile backsplash, which adds a modern and contrasting effect to the light wood tone. The space in between the two upper cabinets is filled with a floating shelf made out of the same dark marble material for displaying decor objects or spices.
The stainless steel on the countertop also comes back in the material finish on the Moccamaster coffee maker that fits the kitchen look perfectly.
The large kitchen island separates the cooking and dining areas from each other visually and stands proudly in the center of the large room. Other than the main kitchen module, the island is finished off with a butcher block countertop for a natural effect in the space.
On the other side of the kitchen island, you can find a modest white dining table with white series 7 dining chairs on top of an elegant light grey area rug.
A living room with dark grey walls and a blue velvet sofa
The living room features dark grey walls, which add so much character to the light-flooded space. The blue velvet sofa stands out against this dark wall color and the beautiful living room gallery wall adds a wonderful combination of different colors to the setting.
The rest of the interior is decorated in modest colors, with a beige textured area rug, a white Bertoia diamond chair, and a contrasting black coffee table.
On the other living room wall, a bookshelf is custom-built on top of the doorway and painted in the same color as the living room walls for an integrated effect in the space. It’s the perfect home library if you ask me.
The back of the bookshelf has a shiplap treatment (also painted in the same color) and the colorful collection of books and accessories stand out nicely against the dark grey color.
A bedroom with a floral wallpaper
The bedroom has a romantic floral wallpaper from Morris Co. that is a real focal point in the otherwise scarcely decorated sleeping space.
What used to be a doorway is now turned into a wall shelf for decor objects. The white door frame stands out nicely against the darker tones in the wallpaper design.
A bathroom that pairs black marble with white tiles
The spacious bathroom with a freestanding tub pairs a gorgeous black marble floor with white tiles and grey grout on the walls for a contrasting effect.
The walk-in shower is completely covered with black marble, which makes it a true focal point in the bathroom interior.
