This stylish studio flat (Styled by Emma Fisher and Annica Clarmell, photographed by Krister Engström for Kvarteret Makleri) features a wonderful storage solution with a wardrobe that is built to integrate the bed underneath it.
The subtle light grey wall color in this small place is paired with a beige sofa and different wood tones for a natural, contrasting, and elegant color palette that is finished with fresh green plants and a white fluffy area rug.
The U-shape of the open-plan kitchen separates the living and sleeping area from the rest of the apartment and the small dining table in the middle connects the different functional areas together.
A small sofa area with grey and brown tones
The subtle light grey walls in this studio space pair nicely with the warm hardwood flooring and with the white sheer curtains in front of the large window. The small beige sofa fits perfectly on this small surface and the white fluffy area rug brightens up the interior color palette of the space.
The glass coffee table is perfect for small space living, as it doesn’t obstruct the view, and the brown tones in the pendant lamp and throw pillows add a beautiful warm touch to the setting.
A wardrobe above the bed to add storage opportunity to the sleeping area
In a small studio apartment, storage opportunities are key to keeping a clean and tidy space. In this studio space, a custom wardrobe is built on top of the bed so that the height of the walls can be optimally utilized to store away clothes and other things.
By placing the bed underneath the wardrobe length-wise, it doesn’t take up too much of the floorplan.
The bed is made with a mixture of beige textiles and black and brown tones in the art prints and the wall lamps finish off the look perfectly.
A small dining table in between the kitchen and living area
In between the kitchen and the living space, a small dining table with two light oak chairs is placed. The decor on the table matches perfectly with the one in the sofa area for an integrated look and a smooth transition between functional areas.
The dining table stands in between two large windows and the curtains of those windows come together behind the table when open. This creates a beautiful textile backdrop for the dining area, finishing the look off perfectly.
A light grey kitchen with stainless steel finishes
The light grey kitchen cabinets are built in a U-shaped layout so that the wall where the fridge is placed is also the separating wall between the living space and the rest of the apartment.
The light grey cabinets are finished with simple stainless steel hardware, a marble-look countertop, and white tiles on the backsplash.
The back wall of the kitchen forms a separator between the kitchen and the entryway of the apartment.
A custom storage solution in the entryway
In the small entryway, a niche space in the wall is transformed into a storage space that is half open and half closed with simple white cupboards. Notice that the hardware on the cabinets matches the ones in the kitchen and on the wardrobe above the bed.
