This gorgeous flat in Sweden (Styled by JosefssonLjung, photographed by Alen Cordic for Nya Kvadrat) has a wonderful greige shaker kitchen that fills the entire side of the living kitchen. Since the shiplap backsplash is painted the same greige color as the cabinets, the kitchen has a strong presence in this room with white walls.
The kitchen dining table with the red dining chairs stands out against the greige kitchen backdrop. This red accent color is carried over into the interior color palette of the rest of the apartment, where red tones pop out in every single corner.
The bedrooms are decorated subtly, with white walls and a mixture of red and pink tones taking over the color palette. The apartment door comes out straight into the living kitchen, which made it necessary to work with a hallway storage section behind the sofa.
A greige shaker kitchen with a shiplap backsplash
The shaker kitchen with greige cabinets fills the entire side of the living kitchen. The corner kitchen layout with both upper and lower cabinets in an L-formation ensures lots of storage space, while the absence of upper cabinets above the sink makes the layout appear lighter.
The greige cabinets are paired with chrome hardware and a beautiful natural wood countertop brings out the warm undertones in the paint color. The right side of the kitchen is filled with an open shelving module that goes from floor to ceiling, which is an ideal spot for cookbooks.
The kitchen layout is planned floor-to-ceiling, with white cabinet molding softening the transition between the ceiling and the cabinets.
The shiplap backsplash is painted in the same color as the kitchen cabinets for a tone-on-tone effect. The shiplap provides the kitchen with a subtle farmhouse aesthetic, which is paired with floating kitchen shelves perfect for glassware and ceramics.
A living and dining area with an entryway section
The beautiful round dining table paired with red dining chairs separates the kitchen from the rest of the living space. The red chairs pop out of the otherwise neutral color palette and provide the interior with a unique character.
The sofa area is separated from the rest of the living kitchen with a large fluffy area rug which also adds a cozy texture underneath the sofa.
A combination of red and brown tones pairs well with the white walls and beige sofa.
Since the apartment door comes out into the living kitchen directly, a small entryway section is located at the wall behind the sofa.
This area is perfect for hanging a few jackets and it also has a small storage module for shoes and smaller things.
A bedroom with white walls and subtle red tones
The white walls in the main bedroom are paired with a mixture of beige, brown, and red tones for a light yet warm effect.
The two red wall lamps above the bed center the bed in the room, while the vintage cabinets add a personal touch to the space.
A small reading corner in front of the window makes the bedroom complete.
A guest bedroom with a home office spot
The small and narrow guest bedroom is perfect for a single bed, that can be used as a daybed as well. Also in this room tints of red dominate the color palette and pop out of the white walls. The mirror above the bed makes the space appear visually bigger.
A vintage desk paired with a red chair makes for a perfect home office spot in this small room.
