Spacious home in natural colors

post

This home is decorated in a subtile way and many space is left around the furnishings, giving the apartment and even more spacious look. It would be easy to fill up this home with a lot more furniture, but I think this minimal approach works so much better in this space.

The color palette in the entire place is very natural and calming which works very well against the all the white walls and the soft wooden flooring.

Reform showroom in Aarhus

post

Last April Reform opened a new showroom location in Aarhus, Denmark. The entire showroom is painted in a a blue- grey, which has a very impressive effect and makes the kitchen models stand out even more. I like the large ladder leaning against the wall as well, also painted in the same color.

The wall lamps are from Belgian design duo Muller Van Severen for Valerie Objects. The black wall lamp is high on my wish list for our kitchen as well.

Black kitchen with a rustic look

I’m normally more fond of minimal kitchens with small handles rather then the rustic type, however I do really like the look of this black and white kitchen. The metro tiles with black grout and the black marble top combine really nicely with the brass handles and give the kitchen a very cozy and characteristic look.

Characterful newly built

I like good examples of cozy newly builds like this apartment in Stockholm. By adding lots of textiles, painting some walls and working with different materials, an otherwise new looking building becomes more lived and characterful.

I really like the little desk in between the wall and the built in shelving as well. It has the perfect size to get some work done on your laptop while also blending into the interior.

Seaside Abode by Norm Architects

This seaside home in a secluded corner of Denmark is the latest project of Norm Architects. The coastal home was renovated an modernised and Japanese zen aesthetics were merged with danish cottage style charm.

I think this project looks very luxurious and sophisticated, yet has a very minimal simplicity that is so characteristic in the Norm design language.

The Spanish dining chair

post

I’m sure you all now the Spanish chair designed by Børge Mogensen, produced by Fredericia. The brand now released a dining chair version of the famous lounge model and I think it’s very light and elegant, while still containing all the characteristic elements of the original design.

This beautiful home belongs to Niklas and Jenny Jernström, the owners of Swedish Studio Dom. The home was styled by Sundling & Kickén for a recent feature in Residence magazine and I think you can really recognise their beautiful way of styling here.

It’s always interesting to see how people with a creative profession live and it doesn’t come as a surprise that this home is full of design pieces and unique, characteristic items. I like the black, white and natural color palette as well, giving the home a contrasting, yet calm look.

Aesop Notting Hill

While as usually the Aesop stores are newly developed concepts, this London Notting hill location has a vintage apothecary theme, which looks really interesting against the all black store front and the powder pink interior. Would love to pass this location on my next visit to London.

Simple grey office space

post

I think you don’t need a lot of space to create a calming and inspiring workspace at home. This small office with grey walls looks very simple, yet has everything you need to take time and do the tasks for the day at the desk. Note the artwork and flowers as well, to give the space a little bit more life.
