Bedroom view

Bedroom view - via Coco Lapine Design blog

I hope you all got a great start into the new month ! It just started snowing here in Munich again, just when I thought Spring wasn’t that far away anymore (this was wishful thinking, I admit). I changed some things around in our bedroom and have the Botanical no. 3 print hanging above our bed now. Cold weather just makes me want to stay home and redecorate.

This beautiful home in grey is decorated with dark furniture and accessories, which looks very nice and dramatic. Especially the bedroom in green-grey looks very nice combined with the different textures like the velvet throw and the Beni Ouran rug in front of the bed. I like the area in between the living room and bedroom as well, even though it doesn’t have any natural light. By placing lighter furniture in this room, a lighter atmosphere is created.

I’m in love with every single corner in this beautiful home. The hardwood flooring combined with the many custom built wooden structures, vintage pieces and carefully picked design items is a match made in heaven. I especially like the dining area, with the vintage cabinets on the one side and the sofa made out of mattresses on the other.

Natural bathroom look

This natural bathroom look featured on the Ikea Livet Hemma blog is very inspiring. The marble floors and the white tile wall are the perfect backdrop for the white and wood bathroom shelving and accessories. I didn’t spend so much time styling our bathroom yet, but I feel I should transform it into a quite and peaceful place like this one.

My impressions from Maison & Objet

post

My impressions from Maison & Objet - via Coco Lapine Design blog

In the beginning of the week I travelled to Paris to spend two days at Maison & Objet and it was such an inspiring trip. I saw so many inspiring new designs (the Now ! Design à Vivre hall and the Home Accessories section were especially inspiring for me) and got home full of new ideas on how to decorate our home.

I saw many interesting setups and designs and noticed that the color palette is shifting to a muted warm color setting, just like in so many inspiring homes I posted on my blog in the last months.

A green oasis home

Every interior has something that stands and in this home it’s definitely the plants. The window in the living room is full of different kinds of house plants and a climber that goes all over the curtain rail. All this green makes this otherwise cozy home look very fresh.
