DIY Kimono

post

DIY Kimono - via Coco Lapine Design blog

There is a tutorial for a DIY Kimono on the Ikea Livet Hemma website which is pretty cool. I especially like this styling and the way the Kimono is used as a wall decoration on the hanging rail.

Fresh and cozy kitchen

I like this all white kitchen with the metro tiles going up all the way to the ceiling. The open shelving adds some extra storage space and extra character. I love the hanging rail for smaller pots and pans and am thinking about installing something like this in our kitchen as well.

This home is decorated in a very elegant and luxurious way. I like the use of area rugs to give dimension to the rooms and the collection of walnut furniture pieces matches this home very nicely and add some more character. I like the grey walls in the bedroom a well, combined with the beautiful velvet bench and brass details.

Pella Hedeby is a very talented stylist who’s work I have featured here on the blog numerous times in the past. I find that she’s especially gifted for turning newly builds into warm and cozy homes with the same amount of character as any older building. In this home she used a lot of different wall paints, combined with different fabric textures and a very nice selection of accessories to create a cozy and inviting look. I especially like the soft greys with the pink accent in the living room. This color combo comes back in one of the bedrooms as well. You can read more about which products and paints Pella used in her blogpost here.

Reform New York

As you might have seen on my Instagram feed, I’m working from New York this week, trying to take in as much of this beautiful city and of course its interior scene. One of the places I visited here is Danish design brand Reform. Their showroom is located in a beautiful old warehouse in Brooklyn, which serves as the perfect white canvas for displaying their different kitchen front models. In the pictures I took during my visit, you can see two of my favorite designs from the showroom. The first one is designed by Norm and has a very warm look. The second one is a stainless steel version designed by Sigurd Larsen, which is combined here with walnut flooring, chrome details and a dark blue wall.

Concrete bathroom

post

I have seen many examples where a concrete bathroom look is achieved with concrete floors or a concrete sink to add a touch of the beautiful rough effect in the space. A concrete bathroom floor can be planned from the beginning of the design process, or it’s often used as a treatment on top of tiles that no longer fit the style of the space (a relatively easy and budget-friendly makeover in a way).

This minimalist bathroom has a concrete surface on the floors, walls and even ceiling for an impressive effect

The concrete flooring in this bathroom extends out to the walls and even the ceiling for a full concrete bathroom effect where the white sink and toilet really stand out. This colorless look has a very industrial aesthetic, with the smooth surface of the concrete and the shiny porcelain pieces balanced out with a few wood tones in the ladder and the little shower table.

Ikea Svalnäs shelf

post

Ikea released a new modular shelving system made out of bamboo and for the occasion, Pella Hedeby made her own stylish version of the system. I like the setup that is made around the bed including a desk. Perfect for a small bedroom.
