What a beautiful home this is. There is something about the blue-grey ceilings that cover the entire flat. In the living room they contrast with lighter walls, which brings the ceiling down, while as combined with the black walls in the bedroom, it actually has to opposite effect. The carefully chosen accessories in brass, terracotta and velvet give the home a very chique and on trend look as well.

Panthella mini from Louis Poulsen

post

Panthella mini

Louis Poulsen just released a Panthella mini version (€413*$618*), a smaller variant of the well-known design by Verner Panton and I was of course very happy to be able to try out this modern table lamp in my home. I have been moving this small lamp around from the dining room to the living room into the bedroom, and love the chic, yet cozy look it gives to every room. I think these table lamps looks wonderful on a desk as well as on a window sill or sideboard.

Panthella, the king of Scandinavian design lamps

The original Panthella lamp was designed in 1971 and is available as a table and a floor version. Verner Panton was ahead of his time with the use of materials like plastic, fiberglass, steel, and plexi. When the original lamp was designed, however, the production techniques didn’t allow a metal shade to be possible, even though that was the designer’s original intention. The Panthella mini now features a metal shade after Panton’s original lamp drawings, which directs the light downwards and creates a soft and comfortable light for a very cozy effect. The LED light can be dimmed in three stages, so you can adjust it to your needs and to the time of day.

The lamp is available in eleven different colors, inspired by the colors of Panton’s latest project, the exhibition ‘Light and Color’ from 1998 in the Design museum Trapholt.

This blog post was created with the kind support of Louis Poulsen. If you would like to know more about Louis Poulsen lighting and the other pieces in their lighting collection, have a look at their website.

This is just such a fresh and stylish white home. The black accents, combined with different tints of wood and soft textiles make this home very characterful. I like the cozy round bedroom painted in sand and think the workspace just looks so amazing. You can find the ‘Room with a view’ print above the desk by the way.

This beautiful series of dark ceramics is the result of a collaboration between Daniella Witte and Ann Katrin Braf. These deep black pieces are kept raw and dark to lift the food that they deserve.

I like the earthy tones in this bedroom of Daniella Witte. The warm green and brown tints are combined with touches of refreshing white. I like the built in bookshelf as well, a great place to store away magazines and other items that are usually kept on a nightstand.

Breathtaking loft

post
A loft kitchen with black cabinets, marble countertops, ladder rail, gold hardware, oak dining table, J39 chairs

I have blogged about this home before, when it was styled differently. I’m so amazed by this beautiful loft though that I thought it was worth sharing again. I just love the smart way the dark kitchen has been built in and the way the stairs to the hidden bedroom match that look completely. Combine that with those high ceilings and big windows and you have a dream home.

String System in our living room

Remember I told you about my plans for a String System in our living room ? In this blogpost I showed you the setup I built with the String builder. I planned a bookshelf that includes a folding table which we can use as a small dining table in our living room, without loosing too much space. Our living room is long and narrow, which makes it quite challenging to fit both a table and a bookshelf.

This String solution fits the space so perfectly and because everything is so close to the wall it really makes our living room look bigger. The table fits two chairs comfortably and we have been using this place for breakfast in the weekend and for working on our laptops in the evening. Like all the String components, the table is available in different wood tints, black, white and grey and you can try out your own modular shelving system with the easy String builder.

We usually leave the folding table open, but if we need more space we can just easily flip it down. You lift the table, snap the legs to a magnet and the table is easily stored away.

I’m in love with this piece of timeless design that I’m sure will be moving with us wherever we go. That’s the nice thing about a modular system, you can just keep changing it and adjust it to your needs.
