Korbo in brass and copper

The well known Korbo wire baskets are now also available in brass (my personal favorite) and copper and for this occasion Sara Widman styled these beautiful interior setups to present them.

I like the vibe of this one room apartment in Sweden with windows on three sides. The bed is placed right next to the sofa, but by placing a carpet in the sofa area, two separate ‘rooms’ are distinguishable. The big windows let in a lot of light, which makes the place look spacious as well.

I think old fishbone flooring (or herringbone) is the most beautiful flooring a place can have. Combined with the leather butterfly chair and a String desk corner, this apartment combines many of my favorite things.

Yesterday I told you a little bit about the #limblogdesigntour already, but I wanted to share another favorite with you about the tour. We got to visit two great designers in their homes and this was just so inspiring. We payed a visit to the home of Michael Verheyden and the home and studio of Roel Van de Beek.
Having this blog, I’m always looking for the nicest interiors and to be able to take a peak inside these talented designers’ homes was really inspiring. We got to take a peak in Michael Verheyden’s workspace and over coffee he told us his story of how he grew his company to the size it has today without employing so many people (it’s him, his wife and some seasonal employees doing most of the work).
Roel Van De Beek showed us around in his workspace and beautiful home (seen in the first picture) where he lives with his wife and children. He showed us a glimpse of his work, which spans over many different areas. He approaches design from the need of solving a problem, which over the years, brought him to design chairs, church interiors, porcelain and works of art for a hospital. At his home we were having coffee and cake out of Roel’s own tableware by the way, so beautiful.
To read more about our Bloggers tour and the places we visited, have a look at the website. We visited so many inspiring design companies, had dinner in Michelin star restaurant Chuchara and were staying in three of the Different Hotels. It was an amazing three days, organised by Christophe and Christiaan from Comosie.

Plants have a crucial part in the decoration of a home these days and I couldn’t agree more. The plants in this neutral colored apartment really bring life to the place and it gives the rooms a bit of freshness, especially important in the winter months.

A few weeks ago I had the honour to join the #limblogdesigntour in Limburg, Belgium, where I went to visit the Design highlights of Limburg. We visited a lot of places, each one as exciting as the next. One of my favorite visits on the tour was the showroom of studio Kuppers Wuytens who designed a large range of beautiful leather goods, but also furniture and the entire interior of restaurant Magis.
Their showroom is temporarily located on the domain Bokrijk, which I’m sure every Belgian knows and visited as a child. The domain is about the undergo a major renovation by architect Bart Lens and in the new BKRK new designs will be produced and sold with traditional techniques. We had the chance to sew our own BKRK coin-purse, which was designed by Kuppers and Wuytens themselves. I’m using it for my business cards now and I’m looking forward to seeing the leather change it’s natural color over time.

This week you can win an Above Fine Art print for you and your friend. All you need to do is comment on my Instagram picture with where you’d hang this print when you’d win and tag the friend you’d like to win one as well. The winners will be announced on Sunday – good luck !

The weather starts to get a little colder and I find myself looking for activities inside the house. In a while I will be looking forward to Christmas baking, but for now I made some applesauce from soggy apples over the weekend.

Fitting a family of four in a one-bedroom apartment is quite a challenge, but if you are a little bit creative with the layout and create custom solutions just like this family did, it actually looks quite comfortable. The living room and kitchen have a black-and-white contrasting palette and the white walls make this apartment look more spacious.
It’s optimal to have a bedroom for each person, but if you live in the city for example, where rents are skyrocketing, this is not always possible. The bedroom in this flat functions as a kid room, master bedroom, and office at the same time, all while still looking spacious and stylish.
The double bed has been separated from the rest of the room by a custom solution with closed storage space on the bottom and a glass partition on the top to let in the natural light coming from the windows. The bed is made with a simple white duvet cover* that stands out against the grey paint on the wall, which creates the illusion of a headboard.
On the other side of the glass partition, the kids have their bunk bed, which is a DIY project out of Ikea Stuva (not currently in their collection anymore, they introduced Smastad instead) for storage on the bottom and a contrasting black ladder that matches the overall palette of the room. The home office area in front of the window is placed on a small area rug, which visually separates this area from the rest of the room.

I like the consistent natural beige and brown color scheme in this apartment styled by Josefin Haag for Fantastic Frank (Photography by Joakim Johansson). It puts me in a fall mood and I think I will try decorating my home with tree branches as well one of these days.
Also, today is the last chance to write a comment on my Instagram picture and win a Typehype mug and coffee beans. The winner will be announced later today.
