This beautiful, spacious apartment with a wall of historic windows letting in an abundance of sunlight has one large room which contains all functionality, and two loft spaces: one for sleeping on top of the kitchen and one for lounging on top of a storage module.
Having such high ceilings means you have to utilize the height of the room, which the interior designer of this space took by heart. The living space includes a custom storage module that goes all the way up to the ceiling where you have a lot of artwork and accessories on display. On the side of the dining table, an impressive XL mirror covers the entire wall, making the space appear twice as big.
A living room lounge area with a custom storage module filled with art pieces
The sofa area includes a black sofa, paired up with an impressive custom open shelf with assymetric open shelves where a beautiful mixture of contrasting art prints and accessories are displayed. The bottom of the bookshelf has cabinet doors to store away small items in the apartment.
A spacious dining area reflected in an impressive XL mirror
On the other side of the sofa, you can find a beautiful rectangular oak wood dining table which is paired up with black dining chairs and a fiddle fig tree in the corner. The real eye-catcher in this area, however, is the massive XL mirror wall that makes the space appear twice as big.
If you look closely, the mirror consists of many smaller panels mounted very closely together, resulting in one mirror wall that stops right below the trim underneath the ceiling.
A white kitchen with a mirrored backsplash underneath a loft bed
On the other side of the window, the kitchen and bedroom are stacked on top of each other. The loft bed on top of the kitchen can be accessed from the custom-built stairs next to the dining table and since the ceilings are so high in this apartment, both room functionalities seem spacious.
The white kitchen cabinets are paired up with a mirrored backsplash, which makes the kitchen space appear bigger. The impressive Monstera by the end of the bed adds a wonderful green touch to this setting and functions as a room separator of sorts.

On the other side of the kitchen, you can find a wardrobe module with white cabinet doors and a loft lounge area The custom staircase is integrated within the structure of the storage solution and you can even enter the storage on the bottom through a little door.

While some of us have the luxury of having a room dedicated to a home office, in most of our homes, a desk is added to a living room, bedroom, or other available space. When combining room functionalities together, especially when working with a smaller floor plan, it’s crucial to select a desk that is compact and includes storage.
This post is all about the combination of computer desk functionality with a bookshelf to provide extra storage for the paperwork you want to keep within reach or accessories you want to have on display in your interior.
Some of the solutions below are products from brands you can shop as readily available items, others are more general concepts that can be made out of shelving systems. They all have one thing in common though: they will allow you to create a nice home office spot on any free wall in your home while blending in with your interior style.
A black bookshelf with a desk against a greige wall for a dramatic effect
This black wall bracket system spreads over an entire wall painted in a beautiful greige paint color. The desk surface is big enough so it can be used as a computer desk and the other shelves are great for a mixture of storage and display of accessories.
When working with a customizable shelf system, make sure to leave enough space between the desk shelf and the shelves on top so you can place a lamp or display in your home office.
A white wall-mounted bookshelf with a desk on a small surface
Similar to the first example, this bracket system provides the space with a home office spot on a relatively small surface right next to the sofa in this living room. The white shelves and brackets blend in with the white wall and make the bookshelf desk even more subtle.
The black desk chair and accessories stand out against the white backdrop and the desk light is a clasp lamp that is attached to one of the shelves so it doesn’t take up any space on the desk itself.
The classic DK3 Royal System was designed by Poul Cadovius in 1948 and has a very classic look. The system consists of wall-mounted wooden rails, shelves with hangers in brass or stainless steel, and various cabinets that can be customized to your needs, including a desk to turn your shelving system into a little home office.
I love the combination of the dark green walls with the walnut wood and the brass brackets, which must make this the most elegant and classy solution on the list.
A wall-mounted bookshelf desk with a drawer
This beautiful wall shelving system made out of wood stands out against the modern white walls. The black brackets and the black desk chair add contrast to the setting, which is a color combination that comes back in the adjacent hallway.
The drawer underneath the desk provides extra storage for small office supplies and the assymetric placement of the shelves makes the setting a little bit playful.
A custom corner shelving solution with a desk in black against pink walls
A small niche corner in this hallway with pink walls has been transformed into a corner bookshelf desk with black walls and black shelving. In order for this corner bookshelf to work as a desk as well, the shelves have been cut at an angle, to allow enough space for the home office section.
The combination of the pink hallway walls with the black color palette in the home office section is very powerful and matches the color of the doors and window frames in the space. The grey carpet adds a soft touch and comes back in the seat cover on the desk stool.
A freestanding white bookshelf solution with closed storage and a computer desk
For my studio home, I selected the Moebe bookshelf system, which is a freestanding modular solution that includes both a computer desk and a storage cabinet module with doors. While this bookshelf desk is available in a wood or black version as well, I picked out a white setting that would blend in with the white flooring and white walls in this place.
The desk is the perfect home office when I’m in Belgium and I love working from my laptop next to this window looking over the fields.
A large wall-to-wall shelf that includes an office spot
When you have a larger wall available, like in this beautiful living room with grey walls, you can spread your shelving solution over the entire wall for a more impressive effect. The computer desk on the right side is paired up with a few shelves for books and a large green plant that really stands out in this setting.
Børge Mogensen designed the BM29 bookshelf for Fredericia in 1956 and this timeless and functional piece of furniture adds beautiful Scandinavian elegance to your home office.
A bookshelf desk that continues on the other wall for a cohesive look
The white bracket shelving system used in this turn-of-the-century living room is paired up with natural wood shelving for a natural look that matches the wood color in the flooring and the other furniture pieces in the interior.
The shelving system is spread over two walls on each side of the doorway, with a home office spot with a computer desk on the left side and a bookshelf with closed storage on the other side.
A computer desk as part of a wall-attached bookshelf system
The Tônn bookshelf is a modular bookshelf system that attaches to the wall and can be customized with closed storage, shelving, and even a desk module. The off-white bookshelf desk blends into the wall with the same paint color and the closed storage right above the desk module is easy to reach while working.
A simple wall-mounted bookshelf with a desk blends into the wall
In this living room with white walls and white-soaped hardwood flooring, a white bookshelf desk system blends into the walls and takes up only a small corner next to the door. The shelves can hold folders, decor items, and paperwork, along with accessories, while the long and narrow desk makes for a spacious home office spot.
The String Furniture System bookshelf with a desk or table
String Furniture is one of the most famous brands for modular wall shelving and it’s also the solution I have had in my personal home for years. It’s easy to update and adjust to your needs and over time, I included a foldable table, which functions as a computer desk as well.
The bookshelf can also be used in the kitchen as a small table for having coffee next to your espresso machine and the foldable table can also be replaced by a smaller desk shelf if you want your home office setting to be even more compact.

What stands out the most to me in this beautiful apartment for sale in Sweden, is the black limewash wall in the bedroom, which can be seen from the wooden double interior doors in the living room.
The living room lies between the kitchen and the bedroom, making the large wood dining table the center point of the apartment. The brown tints and green plants work well with the beautiful exposed brick wall in the living space.
The simple kitchen design features light grey kitchen cabinets, paired with a wood countertop, brass hardware, and a tiled backsplash that goes up to the ceiling.

A bedroom with a black limewash wall
Going for a black or dark grey bedroom wall color can have a very unique effect on a space. In this particular bedroom design, the walls are covered in black limewash paint, which results in a beautiful wall texture from which the accessories, green branches, and artwork stand out.
The black limewash wall contrasts nicely with the white shelf on the wall, the white side table, and the beautiful white table lamp. The limewash wall is framed beautifully by the white floorboards and the white trim underneath the ceiling.
The entire bedroom wall is filled with a custom-built wardrobe in white, which brightens up the dark paint color along with the white bedding on the grey velvet bedframe.
Double interior doors are a great way to create an open-plan floor layout in a small space, which can still be closed for privacy when needed. You can find interior double doors in a variety of different shapes, styles, sizes, colors, or wood species to match your interior decor and room materials. You can even opt to add glass panels.
Below, you can find my favorite interiors with double doors. Most of them are historic, yet they are great inspirations for the effect you can achieve in your interior.
Double doors with a grey-stained wood species
The interior doors in this beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment connect a kitchen and living room, which both have white-stained hardwood flooring. The grey color palette in the kitchen also comes back on the living room wall paint behind the sofa, making the grey stain on these double doors the perfect addition to this setting.
Double interior doors painted in a glossy dark blue color
The glossy blue double doors in this majestic interior frame the minimally decorated bedroom in a light grey color palette.
The door slab color varies from the white door frame and the blue wall color, which results in a beautiful material combination. The brass door handle adds the finishing touch and stands out against the blue gloss treatment on the door.

Exposed wood double doors lead up towards a bedroom with blue walls
The blue bedroom walls are framed by beautiful exposed wood double doors with a white door frame. The living room has grey walls, which pair up nicely with the rest of the color palette in the space. The double doors in this beautiful living room and bedroom with light grey walls have unique molding on top, which gives them an even more impressive effect in the interior. The white color on the door comes back in the tall floorboards, window frames, and ceilings for an integrated effect in this home.
If you happen to bump into historic doors (check for availability and prices in your area), you can go for the distressed look like in this example and only strip off part of the paint. This will add a rustic effect to your interior.
This spacious interior with light greige walls and beautiful white crown molding is enhanced by double doors with intricate molding on top that gives you a peek into the bedroom with the same wall color.

The light grey bedroom walls paired up wist pastel pink bedding result in a very delicate bedroom color palette, which is enhanced by the distressed wood on the two doors leading up to the bedroom.
Untreated wood double doors pair nicely with black limewash bedroom walls
The beautiful untreated interior double doors connect the white living room with a gorgeous bedroom with black limewash walls. The contrast between black and white in the bedroom is enhanced by the addition of the wood tones in the doors, which results in effortless sophistication.
A dark grey bedroom can make your interior unique, characterful, and maybe a bit moody, yet you can be sure this wall color will set your room design apart. It’s a color choice that typically works well in larger bedrooms that receive a lot of daylight, yet there are some exceptions to this in the list below.
If you are thinking about giving your bedroom a lick of paint, make sure to take a look at the dark grey bedroom ideas in this list. Pair your grey walls up with shades of grey in the accessories for a tone-on-tone look or shake it up and work with warm or cool tones to make it more interesting.
Charcoal grey bedroom walls contrast with white elements for a beautiful contrast
You will notice that the darkest grey bedroom ideas on the list are usually on the larger side, or have an abundance of natural light coming in through the windows. The deep charcoal grey walls in this bedroom contrast nicely with the white plank wood flooring and the white ceiling, which is a contrast that is accentuated even more with the addition of the big white rice paper pendant in the middle of the room.
The light pastel grey tones in the bedding soften out this contrasting look, while the black tables next to the bed sort of blend in with the dark wall color.
Grey paint with green-tinted hues and warm textiles
The grey paint in this master bedroom has a greenish hue, which is more apparent depending on the direction from which you look at the walls. The black headboard combined with the black wall lamps adds a darker tone to the setting, which is brightened up by the white flooring and white ceiling.

Warm shades in the accessories stand out from these impressive charcoal walls
This is one of the moodiest grey bedroom ideas on the list, as even the window frames, floorboards, and heater have been painted in the same dark grey color.
The custom headboard behind the bed is painted in the same color as the walls as well, which makes the warm beiges, pinks, whites, and other neutrals in the accessories stand out in a very powerful way.
Soft grey walls pair up nicely with the warm wood tones in this bedroom
The medium grey wall color applied to these bedroom walls is the ideal addition to accentuate the different warm wood tones in the flooring and doors.
The mixture of warm greys and beiges in the textiles on the bed contributes to connecting the cooler and warmer tones in the interior design and softening out the contrast between the subtle blue tones in the paint and the red and yellow wood tones.
A very dark grey bedroom results in a unique, moody look
This is one of the more moody grey bedroom ideas, as the walls are almost black, which makes the white ceiling and the sheer white curtains stand out in a very powerful way. The antique bird print stands out perfectly against the dark backdrop of the grey bedroom walls, while the mixture of white, burgundy, and grey shades on the bed softens out the palette a bit.
A grey bedroom paired up with a black headboard and comforter
The black upholstered headboard combined with the black velvet comforter adds darker tones to the mid-grey wall color in this spacious master bedroom. If you are afraid of selecting a dark grey bedroom wall color, you can always pair grey with darker tones in your accessories to achieve a unique effect in your bedroom.
The light grey velvet carpet finishes this grey bedroom in a beautiful way and the texture pairs up nicely with the velvet fabric used to decorate the bed.
This darker shade of grey paint has blue undertones, which look more blue depending on the direction the light hits the wall.
Cool greys tend to pair up nicely with warmer tones in the accessories and soft furnishings, which is the case in this beautiful bedroom example. The yellow tones in the bedding bring out the blue in the paint and make the room feel inviting.
The gingham pattern in the bedsheets and the antique bird print add a rustic feel to the otherwise modern appearance caused by this cool and dark wall color.
This master bedroom is painted in a medium grey on the four walls, paired up with warm greys in the curtains, and white on the ceiling and floor.
Mid greys tend to give a bedroom a soft look, especially when combined with natural shades in the accessories as is the case here. The beiges in the bedding and the small artwork above the bed bring out the warm undertones in the paint color. The antique bedside tables, the rattan heater cover, and the black wall lamps really stand out against the soft backdrop of the grey walls.
Rather than working with four grey walls like in the rest of the grey bedroom ideas on the list, you can approach the design of your bedroom more modestly. To achieve a more subtle effect, ,you can add a grey feature wall and keep the rest of the walls white.
In this bedroom, only the wall above the bed is painted grey, which is paired up with a mixture of white and grey bedding and grey tones in the art print on the wall.
The subtle warm undertone un the paint color in this moody grey bedroom is accentuated by a selection of warm textiles in the space. The olive green velvet headboard, the rattan bench behind the bed, and the beige velvet curtains covering the wardrobe add a beautiful texture to this grey bedroom.
Warmer greys tend to work great in a north-facing room, which typically receives cooler daylight. This is true for other spaces like living rooms or kitchens as well.
A cool grey bedroom with blue tones in the bedding
Cool-toned greys tend to work better in rooms that receive warmer daylight. This cool grey bedroom has been enhanced by dark blue bedding and a mixture of beige and warm textiles for an interesting effect around the bed.
Grey bedroom walls accentuate an impressive ceiling pattern
This spacious master bedroom has subtle patterns in the paneling on the ceiling, which is accentuated by the grey bedroom wall color. The black bedside tables with the white lamps stand out against this wall color, while the natural tones in the bedding warm up the setting just slightly.
A subtle interior look with medium grey bedroom walls
This is one of those grey bedroom ideas that shines in its simplicity. The medium grey walls are paired up with a selection of beige, white and grey fabrics and a textured area rug behind the bed. There is something about this subtle and delicate palette that has a calm and tranquil expression.
Dark grey bedroom walls combined with contrasting white elements
This grey bedroom has a lot of contrast between the dark grey walls, the white wardrobe doors, the white trim underneath the ceiling, and the crisp white bedding on the bed. The window is decorated with dark grey heavy curtains to make it look even more dramatic.

A dark grey bedroom and living room with orange and pink tones
This small studio apartment features darker grey walls that create interest on a small surface. The cool grey bedroom walls are paired up with tints of burned orange and nude pink in the art prints and accessories, which results in an interesting play between the wall color and the warm elements in the accessories.
The abundance of natural light coming through the large window that spreads over the entire wall in this small bedroom is balanced out by a deeper grey wall color. The grey scheme is continued in the deeper greys on the bedding and the black lamp seems to almost blend into its background.
The dark grey wall color forms a sophisticated backdrop for the perfectly selected artwork in neutral shades on the gallery wall above the bed, which adds a lot of character to the setting.
Charcoal grey walls highlight the white crown molding in a turn-of-the-century home
This is one of the most majestic dark grey bedroom ideas on the list. The dark grey paint color on the wall is the perfect choice for such a spacious bedroom that receives an abundance of natural light coming through those large turn-of-the-century windows.
The gold tones in the filigree floor mirror and the bedside table add a subtle glamourous touch to the look, while the white and grey linen bedding add exactly the right texture to the setting.
A dark grey bedroom with a warm wood antique wardrobe
The dark grey bedroom walls bring out the beautiful white-soaped hardwood flooring and the curved wall that defines the space. The antique wardrobe made out of a dark warm wood species is the real focal point in this grey bedroom and the green plants finish off the look in the most perfect way.
Dark greys paired up with warm colors in the textiles and accessories
The right grey wall color can create a cozy and enveloping feel, which you can then enhance with a selection of the right complementary colors. The dark grey bedroom walls are sandwiched between the bright white crown molding underneath the ceiling and the white floorboards that sit on top of the warm hardwood flooring.
A dark soft grey in a small space with an angled wall
While most interior design rules will tell you to use a lighter color in a small bedroom, as it will reflect more daylight and make the room appear bigger, sometimes you just have to throw all rules out of the window and go with your gut.
The dark grey walls in this beautiful sleep space highlight the historic features on the window and crown molding underneath the ceiling, while also accentuating the bright white hardwood floor.
The black-painted vintage dresser with the green plant is a real focal point next to the window and the art print with the orange tones adds a beautiful warm element to the mix.
The black upholstered headboard blends into the dark grey walls and forms the perfect backdrop for the lighter shades in the bedding, which reflect the daylight just as well as if a lighter wall color would have been selected.
A dark grey bedroom enhanced with a yellow color palette in the textiles
The whole scheme in this bedroom revolves around the dark grey walls in combination with the tactile fabrics in warm tones. Since grey is such a versatile color, it can be paired up with any accent color you like, which makes it easy to switch up the look of your space and carry out your bedroom ideas: just switch out the comforter and curtains and you can have a little bedroom transformation in no time.
A dark and warm grey bedroom with shades of blue and orange on the bed
The warm and dark shade of grey on the walls in this historic bedroom makes the fabric pendant light and the curved beige fabric headboard stands out in a powerful way. The mixture of beige, blue, and orange textiles on the wall adds a colorful note to the setting that ties the space together.
Pair Dark Grey with an Eye-catching Black Vintage Piece
The dramatic appearance of this dark grey bedroom has been made even more powerful by adding a black-painted vintage glass cabinet that is even darker than the walls. The rest of the interior pieces lighten the palette and add a bit of contrast.
Kitchen cabinet hardware is almost like the jewelry of your kitchen design, finishing off the look. Black cabinet hardware is great for adding contrast to your kitchen style and switching out the hardware on your cabinets can be just the thing your kitchen needed to give it a powerful makeover.
If you are looking to add a beautiful black finish to your cabinets, have a look at these modern designs that include black kitchen cabinet hardware in different shapes and designs. Whether you want to go for knobs or pulls, you will find the inspiration you need in this list.
Black hardware stands out against lighter color cabinets in a beautiful, contrasting way, while it can have a more subtle effect when it’s blended into darker cabinet colors.
Black knobs stand out against a light grey kitchen
This beautiful kitchen design features light grey kitchen cabinets paired up with grey walls and a grey peg rail. The black knobs, black faucet, and black countertop add a beautiful contrast to all the grey in the space and I love the way the round knobs look on the classic shaker design of the cabinets.
Small knobs usually have a subtle effect on a kitchen design, yet sometimes you will need different appliance pulls for your dishwasher for example, as it’s difficult to open the heavy dishwasher door with a tiny knob.
A modern grey shaker kitchen with black metal kitchen cabinet hardware
The traditional brushed nickel cabinet pulls with a black finish elevate the design of this beautiful grey shaker kitchen. The cabinet hardware pairs up perfectly with the dark stone countertop and the oval sphere shape of the knobs feels good in your hand when opening the cabinets or drawers.
The black hardware stands out against the lighter cabinet color and is the finishing touch to this kitchen design.
Black cabinet hardware in a classy white kitchen with a tile backsplash
When you combine black metal knobs with white kitchen cabinets, you create a very powerful contrast in your kitchen design. The solid black metal knobs in this kitchen elevate the simple expression in the space and complement the black tile grout and the black sockets.
The kitchen itself, which is finished off with a grey granite countertop is very neutral in color, yet by adding a gorgeous warm wood dining table and chairs, the look becomes more warm and inviting.
Black leather finger pulls in a black and white kitchen
Instead of hardware, this minimal white kitchen includes trendy black leather finger pulls that pair up nicely with the black wall light fixtures and the black floating shelf that is used for displaying ceramics.
The leather pulls have a playful and subtle effect in the space that is perfect for opening a drawer or cabinet. Pair these up with appliance pulls for a fridge or dishwasher though, so you can open up heavier doors more easily.
This urban modern kitchen design has black hardware integrated into the cabinet design. The black hardware becomes a crucial element in the design and I love the way the black handles are paired up with a black sink, black faucet, and black appliances.
Black leather pulls and black knobs on matte black cabinets
The black kitchen cabinets in this space are paired up with marble counters and leather pulls that are a bit more modern than your traditional ring pulls. The leather pulls on the bottom cabinets are paired up with regular knobs on the upper ones, however, both of the hardware designs are barely noticeable on the matte black cabinet color.
Black bar pulls in a white and grey kitchen design
The black bar pulls are a sleek and elegant addition to the grey shaker cabinets in this kitchen with white walls and white flooring. The subtle lines of the shaker cabinets are accentuated by the black cabinet hardware that follows in a horizontal direction on the drawer modules and in a vertical direction on the upper cabinets.
Subtle black knobs on minimal white kitchen cabinets
This spacious, minimal white kitchen design is finished off with small black knobs that have a very subtle effect on this modern kitchen. Note that the black hardware on the bottom cabinets is all top-aligned, while the ones on the upper cabinets are bottom aligned, concentrating all the hardware in a single middle strip.
The elegant white cabinets are paired up with a black faucet and an impressive pendant light that accentuates the beautiful crown molding underneath the ceiling.
Tiny black knobs blend in against matte black cabinets
In this kitchen design, the cabinet hardware is barely noticeable, as it blends into the black color of the cabinets. The black oven and the tiny black knobs match the black cabinet color, creating a full black surface at the bottom of the kitchen layout.
The upper section of the kitchen layout is predominately white, with a white subway tile backsplash, a white kitchen sink, light wood countertops, and white walls. The black metal heater, black faucet, and black pendant lamp stand out against this upper white background and match the bottom half of the kitchen layout.
A beige kitchen with elegant black kitchen cabinet hardware
This beige kitchen with white marble countertops features the perfect hardware that is something in between a knob and a pull. The knobs are attached with a single drill hole, yet you can hold the hardware in your hand like a pull.
The beige walls, beige cabinet color, and beige peg rail are brightened up by the white marble countertops and the white wall lamp, yet the black faucet, black sink, and black cabinet hardware make the design interesting and add a lot of contrast.
Black knobs add contrast to trendy sage-green kitchen cabinets
The beautiful kitchen with sage green kitchen cabinets is finished off with wood countertops, a white porcelain farmhouse sink, and black knobs to open the cabinets.
It’s more common to pick out the faucet in the same material as the hardware, yet the black knobs in this kitchen are paired up with a brass faucet. The brass also comes back in the wall-mounted light fixtures, which nicely tie together the design.
A combination of black knobs and pulls in a beautiful grey kitchen
This beautiful kitchen with light grey kitchen cabinets is finished off with beige stone countertops and stainless steel appliances which gives it a modern expression with a classic touch.
The black knobs on the cabinet doors and drawers in the middle of the kitchen layout are paired up with black pulls on the fridge and freezer, as you need more grip to open these appliances.
The black of the hardware is complemented by beautiful black sockets on the white walls, which tie the look together perfectly.
Elegant black bar pulls contrast on white kitchen cabinets
The small bar pulls on these elegant white kitchen cabinets add a subtle strip to each of the cabinets that stand out against the white backdrop of the kitchen.
The matte black cabinet hardware and the black elements in the appliances and light fixtures along with the wood bar stools at the breakfast bar are the only non-white elements in this space, making them stand out in a very powerful way.
While knobs are easy to replace with just one hole and maybe a backplate, cabinet handles are more permanent as you make two holes in the cabinets at a predefined width and distance from each other. If, in the future, you get tired of them, you would need to source cabinet handles of the exact same size and distance in between the drill holes.
Small black knobs add a subtle touch to a minimal grey kitchen with beige walls
Mixing beige walls with dark grey cabinets and wood countertops results in quite the rich color and material palette in this kitchen already, hence the subtle addition of tiny black knobs to not overcrowd the kitchen layout.
The kitchen is spread onto a single wall, including both upper and lower cabinets, which generally benefit from a lighter hardware design.
Minimal black cabinet hardware on dark grey kitchen cabinets
The contrast in this living kitchen is very strong. The dark grey window frames, dark grey kitchen cabinets, and black glossy fridge stand out against the white walls and light hardwood flooring and this contrast has been carried over to the kitchen design as well.
The combination of the black faucet and the black cabinet hardware adds an industrial appearance to the otherwise classic design of the kitchen. The shaker kitchen cabinets and the white marble countertop and backsplash combined with the vintage dining table and the warm leather dining chairs on the other hand, provide this space with an elegant, classic look.
The textured walls made out of white tile with black grout in this tiny kitchen form the perfect backdrop for a combination of minimal white cabinets with a black countertop, black hood, and black cup pulls to finish off the look.
The black pulls on these kitchen cabinets and the single drawer underneath the oven add a rustic touch to the kitchen and are easy to grab. Classic cup pulls tend to have a more traditional appearance, yet they do tend to look more modern in a black version rather than when you pick them out in brass or aluminum.
The light oak kitchen cabinets in this kitchen are paired up with a concrete tile backsplash, a black faucet, a black sink, and sleek edge pulls in matte black. The matte black metal adds visual interest to offset the otherwise very minimal cabinet design, making the cabinet handles a crucial design element of this kitchen.
This type of kitchen cabinet hardware has a more minimalistic effect on kitchen cabinets. When you have a lot of smaller drawers combined, the black hardware gets a more apparent look.
You often see a variety of wood tones in kitchen designs, yet brown kitchen cabinets, just like in this beautiful apartment for sale in Sweden, are not something you see very often. The beautiful open-plan kitchen shares a room with the kitchen dining table with the compact kitchen on just one wall.
The bedroom includes a custom built-in wardrobe around the bed as a space-saving storage solution and dark green walls that contrast nicely with the white wardrobe modules. The hallway has a soft pink wall color that can be seen from the kitchen living space.
Brown kitchen cabinets paired up with beige walls and white marble countertops
The beige wall color in the living kitchen is paired up with dark brown kitchen cabinets that add a beautiful warm tone to the setting. The white marble countertops stand out against this dark cabinetry, while the chrome hardware and faucet add another material quality to the mixture.
The pink wall color of the hallway can be seen from the kitchen and complements the color palette of the brown kitchen cabinets perfectly.
A dining area with open shelving and a vintage glass cabinet
The vintage round dining table fits perfectly with the brown kitchen cabinets and the dark brown dining chairs finish the setting off perfectly.
The historic fireplace in the middle of the room visually separates the dining room and the wall on the right side of the fireplace is covered entirely with an impressive combination of open shelving on which a beautiful collection of accessories is displayed.
A cozy living room with a mixture of colors in the accessories and textiles
The living room is painted with the same beige wall color as the living kitchen. The white fabric sofa in combination with the white area rug provides the space with a white canvas that can be decorated with subtle colors in the accessories and throw pillows.
A bedroom with dark green walls and a wardrobe above the bed
The bedroom is characterized by a custom-built wardrobe that goes around the bed and leaves out a cozy niche space where a custom headboard and a wall lamp fit in. The contrast between the white wardrobe and the white wainscoting against dark green the walls of the bedroom is very stong and powerful.
A vintage glass cabinet in dark wood stands out against the dark green wall color in the bedroom.
A hallway with pink walls
The hallway is painted in a light pink wall color, perfect for a room that doesn’t get direct daylight. The paint color, however, is just dark enough so that the white trim on the ceiling and the white door frames stand out nicely.
A custom-fit wardrobe in a dark color provides the hallway with extra storage space and adds contrast against the light pink walls.

You are in the right place if you are looking for a beautifully designed paper towel holder that fits a modern kitchen. The minimal designs in the list below will add an elegant touch to your counter space and will provide a functional spot for your paper towels. The list includes paper towel holders made out of different materials, so you can be sure to find one that fits the color and material palette of your kitchen design.
As all the designs fulfill mainly the same functionality (holding your paper towels, obviously), the best paper towel holder in this case really is the one that fits well with your kitchen design I believe.
To save counter space, you can always attach the paper towel holder to the wall, yet if you pick out a freestanding paper towel holder like the ones in this list, you can easily move your paper towels from the kitchen to the shelf, sink, stove, or dining table.
Norr Paper Towel Holder designed by Ditte Buus Nielsen for Skagerak
The Norr paper towel holder has a warm, Scandinavian expression made out of a combination of leather and wood. This beautiful design is functional as well, as the edge at the base of the holder keeps the paper towel from unraveling and the leather strap makes it easy to grab the holder and move it to the dining table.
The paper towel holder comes in a natural version and in a black model, where black stained oak is paired up with a black leather strap. In both models, the leather strap is attached to the wood with brass screws, which provide the design with a beautiful and subtle accent.
The Roll’in paper towel holder from byLassen
Based on the classic Kubus design by Mogens Lassen, which has become an icon over the years, Mogens’ grandson Søren Lassen designed the Roll’in paper towel holder based on his grandfather’s iconic piece. The design is heavy, which makes it a stable holder that is perfect for use outdoors as well. The metal Kubus frame embraces the paper towel and makes it easy to tear off a sheet of paper.
Curvature Paper Roll Holder
The Curvature paper towel holder is part of the Ferm Living Curvature collection containing a series of organically shaped accessories that have been formed by hand in solid brass with a matte finish.

The paper towel holder is made by hand out of a single piece of metal, which forms both the stem and the round base.
