New Muuto in the house

I thought about it for a while, and now I finally bought the Muuto Louise Campbell candlestick. Needless to say I’m very happy with it !

I bumped into this lovely home of Alice Flynn, her husband and two daughters over at Design Sponge. Not only does this family live in this beautiful home, they also share a boat with another family, from which you see pictures here as well (the two bottom ones). Their style is a mix of modern, classic and vintage, with a female touch. Every room in the house kind of has its’ own style, but still, the home has this coherent cozy and light feeling.
This is the home of Stefan Söderberg, one of the designers behind the Swedish fashion firm Hope. The interior is kept simple with vintage classics mixed with new design. The building is from 1915 and it has beautiful windows. I especially like the little round window in the living room. The home is mainly filled with shades of brown, something I’m not normally drawn to, but here it fits just perfectly.
This beautiful home was once a school, can you believe it ? The only thing resembling what was once a school are the old wooden floors and the door standing next to the wall. They are so pretty. Combined with both classic and modern furniture it results in a cozy and comfortable home. A home with a story and character.
This is the home of Saskia Fahlsten, found here. Her Copenhagen apartment is a combination of classic and modern design, with objects she gathered during her many travels in Asia, Africa and South America.
Saskia herself calls her style “East meets Eames, who entered the 21st century”. Twice a year, she goes through her home an clears out everything she doesn’t need. It keeps things clean and brings in money to buy new things. By doing so, her house looks very balanced. Everything that’s there has its place, suits a purpose and is thought about.
I love all tints of gray. It’s a calm color and can it make a home look really peaceful. Especially when combined with natural materials like marble and wood, it creates a very calm mood. In this apartment, located in Brussels, Nicolas Schuybroek Architects did a great job balancing all grays and natural colors together, but also to arrange all living areas in such a small space. I think they did a great job.
Happy Easter everyone ! I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter breakfast with your families and are enjoying this wonderful day. Today I was drawn to this gold styling by Marcus Hay for Pat Bates. I’m not sure this is very Easter-like, but I like it a lot. The gold brings me in a sunny mood.
I like to look back on my Instagram profile sometimes and see what I have been taking pictures of the last months. For me it looks something like below. You can find my Instagram profile here if you are interested.
In this small living space (only 67 square meters) lives a family with two children. They achieve this by making use of all available space, and optimizing storage space. What I’m most amazed by is that they still managed to make the apartment look big, airy and stylish.
Nemo just launched, Projecteur 365, a beautifully designed lamp inspired on iconic pieces taken from the archives of Le Corbusier, Perriand and Albini.
