Grey apartment in Brasil

post

I usually like white and bright apartments (you probably noticed that already), but this apartment in Brasil, white concrete walls and floors is really beautiful as well. I think as long as there is a lot of light coming into a house (no problem in Brasil), you can pull off a darker apartment and still make it look bright and clean.

Strik by Kristina Jaer

post

Strik is a snugly armchair, that consists of a frame made of ash tree and a knitted upholstery made of wool – a wooden “body” wearing a knitted “sweater”. The upholstery is reversible and can also be used as a blanket. Kristina Jaer states Strik is rooted in the North and inspired by how we wrap ourselves in warm clothes to protect us from the cold. For the design of this chair, she worked with the meeting between traditional and familiar, in contrast to the modern and surprising. The result is a chair that invites to closeness.

Attic Home

post

I love apartments in the nook of the attic. All the beams and corners could be difficult to work with, which makes it quite a challenge, but the owner of this home did a great job.  In the bedroom, everything is kept in neutral and calm colors, while as in the bedroom white and black bring a lot of contrast. Lastly, I just love the bathroom with the white, black and blue tiles and … did you notice the turtle on the floor ?

Wood Casting by Hilla Shamia

post

Product designer Hilla Shamia, came up with the brilliant idea to combine wood and cast aluminum. With this technique, where the cast aluminum burns the wood, the natural and organic shapes of the tree trunk are preserved, which stands in high contrast with the straight lines of the aluminum.

Small and lovely home

post

It’s always a challenge to live in a small home but still decorate it well. Even more than in a big home, you have to put a lot of thought in what you buy and what you put into the house. This is a beautiful example of a very small (one room) apartment, which is very nicely decorated. I like how the bed is used as a separator as well, with the fabric on the sides, while the high marble counter top, used as a table, divides the kitchen and the living room from each other.Small and beautiful apartment - via Coco LapineSmall and beautiful apartment - via Coco LapineSmall and beautiful apartment - via Coco LapineSmall and beautiful apartment - via Coco LapineSmall and beautiful apartment - via Coco Lapine

Sunday Coffee

post

On Sunday we’ll usually go out for the traditional Berlin brunch or stay home and have a nice long breakfast. I love to prepare coffee the old fashioned way — filtered, and enjoy a long talk while warming my hands over my warm cup of delight. Have a cozy, relaxing Sunday everyone!
