A few years back, Swedish ceramic designer and craftswoman Carina Seth Andersson collaborated on a collection with Arket*, and I still feel bad about missing out on her items back then, so when I noticed Arket repeated the collaboration, I just had to go ahead an snatch some of these beautifully designed homeware pieces.
I love the color blue for bedroom walls. Cool tones tend to work well in bedrooms and I think in this particular room, the blue elements harmonize in such a lovely way with the tints of beige and natural wood. The blue linen duvet cover* works so nicely together with the color on the wall and I love the little desk in front of the window where you can look out on the street from while you work.
This contrasting bedroom with white furniture and walls painted in a dark grey wall color has a few of pops color that really draw the eye. I like that next to the inevitable wardrobe you can find an antique desk combined with a deep blue bentwood chair. This home office corner is eye-catching and adds character to the space.

I’m a fan of contrasting elements in an interior and the way the combination of materials can become a play between hard and soft. This new industrial-style kitchen by Nordiska Kök is a beautiful example of a mixture of materials that enhance the look of the room. This kitchen is built in a villa outside Stockholm and features concrete flooring, combined with a stainless-steel worktop and light oak cabinets. The kitchen island looks like the chefs’ table in a restaurant, while the soft oak finishes add a Scandinavian elegance.
Ad – Since I live in a rather small city apartment and have guests staying over quite regularly (though not lately due to the pandemic, but I have high hope for this summer), I have been on the lookout for a stylish, modular sofa, which is comfortable to sit in, but can occasionally be turned into a bed for guests. I had a sofa bed in the living room before, and even though it was super comfortable for sleeping, it was more a daybed, which wasn’t made for watching TV or lounging with more people.

The high-quality materials that are used on the inside make the sofa super comfortable and are made to last for decades. The fabric has a really nice texture and is soft to sit on, yet it’s also dirt-repellant and durable. You can wash any stains with soap and water, but the fabric can be removed completely as well to be washed in the washing machine. And if I ever get tired of the Sand upholstery (which to be honest, is hard to imagine), I can always buy another fabric to give my Noah sofa a new look.

Swedish Nordiska Kök has designed and built one of their bespoke kitchens in a beautiful 19th-century building in Stockholm and it’s like something you’ve never seen before, I’m sure. The space was designed together with AO/JND interiors and features dark stained oak combined with a contrasting kitchen island in Calacatta Vagli Oro marble that comes back in the countertop and the backsplash of the main module.
The dining area and the kitchen are openly connected, yet to create a bespoke, well-crafted, and luxurious feeling, elegant glass partitions have been installed between the dining room and the kitchen. The frame of the curved glass partition has been crafted out of the same stained oak as the kitchen cabinets and frames the kitchen in such a perfect way. A single lamp above the counter adds elegance to the kitchen and note that handles have only been used on the bottom cupboards, the top works with a push-to-open function to keep the upper part clean and minimalistic.
The rest of the interior has been kept white, with elegant touches of cream, natural wood tints, and a subtle graphic look for an elegant and sophisticated look that makes the kitchen stand out even better.
A beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden that is filled with the most amazing daylight coming from those old curved windows. The living room features a large oval dining table with oak wood &Tradition ‘In Between’ chairs and a lovely combination of beige linen curtains* with a beige linen table cloth*. The clean white kitchen is minimal, yet shines in its’ simplicity. The second dining table here is all white as well and I love the subtle natural accents throughout all the white softening out the kitchen.
