Home with creative use of wallpaper

post

I’m not normally such a fan of wallpaper, but when applied thoughtfully it can really add such a lovely touch to an interior. In each room of this Swedish apartment, you can find a statement wall with wallpaper, all in a different design. I love the way the furniture and textiles have been matched with the colors of the wallpaper. In the bedroom, where you have wallpaper in warm beige, this is complemented with a mixture of beige and dusty pink bedding for a warm look. In the living room, the green of the wallpaper comes back in the dining chairs.

The wallpaper in the kitchen makes the otherwise grey-and-white color palette very special and I love the way the different patterns can be seen from the other rooms. I think as a whole, this is a very interesting look that works well with the galley layout of the kitchen.

Turn-of-the-century apartment with green elements

post

Green is such a beautiful color for a kitchen, isn’t it? It’s so much more special than the neutral black, white, or grey but still has a very calm look and feel. I love the way it has been combined with a high cabinet in natural wood: a combination that comes back in the mixture of green and neutrals at the dining table as well.

I think the layout of the kitchen works so nicely as well with the sink on the one side with a beautiful lamp above it and the stove on the other wall where the marble backsplash is only covering the part above the stove. The bench in front of the large kitchen window is beautiful as well and I can only imagine how nice it is to soak up the sun in this spot.

The living room has a very simple and modest decor, which has been enhanced by lots of fresh green plants and the bedroom has a beautiful muted pink wall which is visible from the doorway when standing in the kitchen.

Stylist Josefin Haag’s apartment for sale

post

For years, I have been a fan of stylist Josefin Haag and her work. She used to work for Lotta Agaton, whose work is known to many of you, but over time, she developed her own signature style that comes back in her own home as well. Interiors that belong to designers or stylists are always the most inspiring ones to me as they tend to have elements you don’t see anywhere else. The home of Josefin Haag, even though decorated in a very subtle way really has character and elements of surprise.

The color palette of the small apartment has been kept very neutral and the living room and bedroom are integrated into one and the same space. Opposed to the sofa, you have a large wall shelf, which functions as a bookshelf but also holds the TV and many different accessories.

The bedroom is placed inside the niche in the living room, which can be closed by a curtain. It’s quite a small space to sleep in, but I love the way this has been solved in an elegant way. The wall shelving going over the whole width of the area grounds everything and it’s a great spot to keep small accessories and decor. This bedroom has the perfect minimal, yet also cozy decor.

The kitchen is a beautiful combination of both new and old and I love the small marble table with the vintage white chairs. I live in a small apartment myself as well (though it’s a little bigger than this one) and it always inspires me so much to see how people make small living spaces work.

Bedroom with a deep blue wall color

post
A bedroom with a deep blue wall color, black wall lamps, white and dusty pink bedding, natural rug, white curtains

I remember really liking the trend of petrol-blue statement walls in the bedroom a few years back. Even though the blue paint color of this bedroom is deeper and more muted, it does remind me of the high contrasting effect it has in a bedroom especially. I think the effect of the wall color is enhanced so much by the fact that the built-in wall-to-wall wardrobe has been painted in the exact same color. This adds a certain unity and has a beautiful monochrome effect in the space.

The white-washed flooring, natural hemp rug, and the mixture of beige and white textiles on the bed really pop out against the dark yet cool wall color and I love the little home office that has been added on the wall opposed of the bed.

Giveaway no.21 – A set of Messing candle holders from Arket

post

Today I’m teaming up with Arket to give away a lovely price in my advents giveaway calendar on Instagram. Even though they were sold out in a heartbeat (like so many pieces of their home collection, you always have to be quick!) I snatched two beautiful messing candle holders that I’m able to give away to one lucky winner.

The simple design of these candle holders (still available on their website in chrome*) looks so wonderful in my window and I like them paired up with these beautiful floating vases* which I filled up with hyacinths for a subtle yet magical touch of Christmas in my window. The paper star from Watt & Veke* adds a lot to this whole Christmas look as well of course, I absolutely love it ! Head over to my Instagram feed to participate in the giveaway (open to people living in Europe).

A peek into KARIN SKÖLDBERG’s home

post

Karin Sköldberg’s home was recently featured on the Residence Magazine blog and it’s an interior enthusiasts’ dream come true in my opinion. Every little corner of this home is designed to perfection and it certainly looks like a lot of thought went in to each material surface, piece of furniture, and accessory. I love the mixture of different wood surfaces (both old and new) throughout the space, which adds an extra layer of interest.

You can read more about Karin Sköldberg who runs one of the largest PR companies for design and architecture in Sweden on the Residence magazine blog and get really cool insights about where all the items Karin selected for her home are from.

Grey home with subtle touches of color

post

I think the grey walls in this beautiful Swedish home combined whit the white-painted hardwood flooring makes it very fresh and clean looking. I love the way this apartment has been decorated with subtle yet present touches of color, which stand out among the otherwise neutral color palette.

The white shaggy rug combined with the white linen sofa reflects the light in such a beautiful way and I love the combination of the beige Fogia Bolo armchair and the blue velvet Gubi beetle armchair next to the sofa. The black dining table with the beautiful bentwood chairs adds extra contrast to the room and I love the way the colors of the artwork just brighten up the whole vibe in this room.

In the bedroom, the walls have been painted in a slightly darker grey, which makes the white of the fabric pendant light, the white double interior doors, and the sheer white linen curtains* stand out in such a nice way. Also here the colors of the artwork seems to brighten up the entire room and the white rug and the bedroom sitting area make the space look very cozy.
