Beautiful apartment with a modest color palette

post

Even though I love a pop of color every once in a while (preferably blue, I love the fresh touch it gives to an interior), a neutral and natural color palette is just so easy to work with. everything always tends to match together and all the neutrals combined will have a balanced result in the room. This Swedish apartment has a combination of white, beiges, and different wood tones and it works so nicely.

I love that you can see into the dining room from the living room and in both rooms, a vintage cabinet adds a darker accent touch to the otherwise light palette. The basic white kitchen has been brightened up with a lovely round dining table with dark wood dining chairs and a lovely pendant above it.

The bedroom is the only room that has gotten paint on the wall and the beige color matches perfectly with the bedding. I love the way the wardrobe has been built into the bedroom wall, it gives the space an elegant and sophisticated touch.

Giveaway no.13 – A Stelton Slow brew coffee maker

post

As you might know by now, I’m hosting an Advents calendar giveaway on my Instagram. Yesterday, I teamed up with Danish design firm Stelton, to give away one of their Slow brew coffee makers combined with two lovely Theo cups. Some of you might know that I love cozy coffee moments and everything that surrounds it. I love taking time to make a cup and even though I like a good espresso every once in a while, at home I prefer to make filter coffee. The Stelton Slow brew coffee maker has been part of my kitchen since years and it’s still in mint condition. I love the rough surface on the outside and the glossy finish on the inside of these pieces and they are just so pretty to look at as well aren’t they ? You can participate in the giveaway in this post (giveaway is open for everyone living in Europe).

Elegant and classy: take a look at this turn-of-the-century home in Sweden

post

I think this beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden looks so balanced, both in terms of color palette and in the selection of furniture and accessories. The interior has been kept very minimal however, it’s not the typical modern style we have in mind when we think about minimalism. The style of this apartment is laid back, rustic, and has some farmhouse elements, though in a modern way.

The light-flooded kitchen has a beautiful round dining table, combined with vintage chairs and a little bench. This area looks very inviting and I love the way the kitchen opens up towards the living room, which also features a lovely combination of modern and classic furniture pieces. The beautiful art piece covers almost the entire wall and matches the color palette perfectly.

I think the white-sanded floors combined with the white walls and beautiful moldings provide the perfect white canvas for the darker furniture and the brown fabrics that you see popping up throughout this space.

The minimal bedroom with white wainscoting is contrasted by dark textiles and furniture pieces for a strong yet simple look.

post

Today on my Instagram, you can win a beautiful Solid and Glow candle holder from Applicata design. These beautiful candle holders in brown brass are part of the Circle collection designed by Amanda Lilholt which is inspired by the sun and its geometrical shape. I love the untreated look of the brown brass, which should be getting a beautiful patina once it ages.

Characterful home with touches of yellow

post

I love the style and personality of this small Swedish apartment. Apart from the beautiful features this apartment has to begin with, I love the way it has been decorated with a lovely mixture of modern and vintage furniture in different price classes, which always gives the most interesting mix I believe. The whole studio apartment is planned very openly, with the kitchen and living room being one room and the kitchen peeking from behind the doorway.

I love the yellow accents in the lamp above the dining table and in the other small touches in the kitchen. This gives the apartment a bright and happy touch, which hints at summer. I think the blackboard behind the sofa is a nice element as well and great to leave messages for your guests. In the bedroom area, which has been mostly decorated in warm tints of beige and white, the blue art print on the wall really takes a lot of attention and adds another point of interest to this studio home.

Linnéa Salmén for Bemz

post

You know I like the work of Swedish stylish Linnéa Salmén, who’s work in my opion always borders with art, yet in a down to earth way. She recenlty did a styling for Bemz, the Swedish manufacturer of custom covers for Ikea sofas and other furniture and I think the images look are such a great inspiration for anyone who likes an interior in tints of beige, brown and natural tints.

The style of these interiors reminds of classic Flemish farmhouses, which I find such a big inspiration as well.
