Cool grey home with a warm touch

post

The cool grey walls in this home almost have a light blue touch and they give a very fresh look to this studio home. Combined with the light wooden hardwood flooring and the many furniture pieces in natural wood tints this makes for a fresh yet cozy look. This cool and warm contrast comes back in the light blue/grey sofa combined with the warm beige rug and the wooden coffee tables. They work so great combined don’t you think ?

I love the picture rail above the sofa and the art prints that are spread all over this home. The subtile striped linen bedding combined with the dusty pink and white pillows looks very elegant as well.

Fresh and cozy home

post

I love the light color palette in this home, which is especially accentuated in the living room with the white furniture and light wooden coffee table. The terracotta textiles work really nice here and really pop out. The vintage dining table in dark wood really adds some contrast here and I love the dark blue walls of the bedroom that come peaking through.

The U-shaped kitchen is fully white as well, matching the style of this home perfectly.

Home with contrasting textures

post

I’m in love with the different textures and materials in this beautiful Swedish home. There is the exposed brick wall in the living room, the bare wooden wing doors leading up to the bedroom, and the dark blue textured wall above the bed. These textures and materials make this home look very interesting and I love the way they are combined.

The kitchen table seems to be the center of the apartment and I think this is a great way to design a space. In my opinion, this is where everyone comes together, isn’t it?

The Nordic kitchen by Nordiska Kök

post
A cream shaker kitchen with stainless steel hardware, grey limestone countertops and a kitchen island

This is the latest project by Nordiska Kök, in a west coast villa outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. This shaker kitchen was created with the intention to capture the essence of Nordic design in both colors and materials, inspired by nordic light. The soft tones and natural materials with classic details are fully adapted to a modern lifestyle. The kitchen is quite large and the layout is created with bottom cabinets only, giving it a light look and feel. The kitchen island includes both closed and open storage space and a built-in wine cooler.

The cabinets are painted in a light and calm greige tone (Color code NCS S3005Y20R) which contrast nicely with the limestone countertop and the warm wood elements of the kitchen, flooring and the warm velvet color on the bar chair*. I love that the open storage elements have these beautiful ceramics (some of them can be found here* or here*)on display in different neutral colors.

Compact Swedish home

post

This small and cozy Swedish home looks both fresh and inviting and is decorated in a simple and minimal way that still shows character and personality. The small round dining table fits perfectly in front of the kitchen window and the black of the chairs combines very nicely with the wood of the table and the dark grey of the kitchen cabinets.

My favorite room in this apartment would be the bedroom, which has fresh looking grey green walls and a multitude of green plants against the wall that pop out so nicely.

Fresh and cozy apartment

post

I have been seeing these grey green walls more and more lately and I love the effect they have in an interior. They add a freshness, which is not too cool and still looks cozy. Green plants tend to really stand out against this wall color and I love the way the white of the doors and windows stand out against it as well.

In the living room I really like the combination of the sofa and the daybed. It creates a bigger seating area without looking too busy (two sofas here would be way too crowded). In the bedroom I love the way the beige linen curtains* look against the grey green walls and this matches perfectly with the beige bedspread* as well.

Cozy bedroom flooded with light

post

I’m very much drawn to this spacious bedroom with simple decor. Nothing in specific really stands out in this interior, yet it all works so nicely together into a soft and stylish setting. I love the olive linen bedspread* against the soft red in the vintage rug and the soft grey paint on the walls.

The white vintage desk in front of the window fits there perfectly as well and it’s such a nice spot for it. It kind of feels like the desk was made for that niche in front of the window.

Contrasting blue and white kitchen

post

I think this kitchen is something special and has so much character. Even though the white kitchen itself is quite basic, the black grouted tiled wall that goes all the way up to the ceiling stands out. The blue walls contrast very nicely with the tiles and I love the extra piece of tiles where the pans are hanging.

The black marble table with the leather series 7 chairs in front of the window is yet another contrasting element. The table combined with the cozy linen curtains and the art wall looks very inviting and fits perfectly next to the window.

Classy home with a green touch

post

The historical details of this turn-of-the-century home are amazing and I feel like they stand out even more against the two different grey wall colors that are used in this apartment. The green-grey in the living room combined with the leather armchairs, classic chandelier, and fluffy rug has a very high-end look and I love the way the green plants stand out in this room.

The bedroom is painted in a lighter grey, which gives this room a softer look that goes very nicely with the vintage bedside tables and the black reading lamps. If you compare this apartment with this classy Scandinavian interior with all-white walls, you can clearly see the effect the hardwood flooring has on the warmth in this interior.

Warm beige interior

post

Now that fall weather seems to be all we are getting here in Munich, I’m really drawn to tints of brown and beige like in this stunning Swedish interior. The warm beige walls in the living room go very nicely with the white floors and the all-white and marble kitchen peeking through those old doors. The dark wooden chairs add a certain depth to this look and the white sofa softens and adds lightness again, which is a really good mix.

The bedroom is decorated in a similar palette, yet looks different in a way. Things like the dark beige linen curtains and beige throw combined with the velvet bed really stand out here. I love the vintage pieces like the little desk and the bedside table in this room as well, they add so much character.
