Bedroom in petrol blue

post
A petrol blue wall color in a minimal bedroom with warm accent colors

Bedroom walls in petrol blue were a big trend around 2 years ago and you would see so many of them. I always liked them and I think they really didn’t go out of style yet. What I love about such a dark color (though you have to have the right space for it, with enough natural light) is how nicely things contrast against it. Look at the beige linen bedding*, the green plants, or even the linen bathrobe*. They all stand out so nicely against that deep petrol blue color on the wall.

Fresh bedroom with a classic touch

post

I’m loving the vibe of this fresh bedroom with the cool light grey walls. The cool grey is balanced out by the many warm details like the rattan chair, the vintage bedside cabinets, and the beige and rust colors in the bedding. The cold touch is enhanced at the same time with blue details in the bedding and other small accessories. I love this combo!

The small desk against the wall is a nice addition as well and it has the perfect spot there by the window.

The living room next to the bedroom is painted in the same cool-grey wall color and here the warm tones of the oak wood Wishbone chairs really stand out.

Majestic home with great art pieces

post

Look at this gorgeous Swedish apartment! The turn-of-the-century architectural details are amazing on their own, but the decoration certainly matches this high level of minimal flair.

The apartment is decorated with design classics throughout, combined with an array of grey wall colors, ranging from a darker grey in the library area to a light and fresh grey in the living and dining room to a dark and warm grey in the bedroom.

I’m really drawn to the color palette in the bedroom with the greige wall color especially. The area rug at the end of the bed has ochre details, which are perfectly matched with a duvet* and pillows* in the same tint. I wish I had the space in my bedroom to place one of those benches at the end of the bed, so useful to store the decorative pillows you don’t use during the night but are so pretty during the day.

Living room in beige and nude

post

The color palette in this living room works so nicely with the light grey walls and the darker hardwood flooring. The effect of the wooden series 7 chairs* combined with the Chrome Gubi semi lamp* and the beige linen table cloth* works wonders for a cozy dining setup that is minimal yet interesting.

The white sofa combined with the art wall in modest colors looks very fresh and I love the effect the dusty pink velvet pillow* has on the color palette of this room. Imagine if it wouldn’t be there, the setup would look completely different don’t you think ?

Warm home with a black kitchen

post
A kitchen with black cabinets, chrome hardware and a black hood, small bistro dining table

When you look inside the living room of this place, it all looks very warm, cozy and natural, but then when you look through the door of the kitchen you see this impressive black wall of kitchen cabinets, which has such a great contrasting effect in this home.

I love the tiny dining table in the kitchen, which fits just two people. It’s perfect to have such a spot to keep each other company while cooking and to have your morning coffee.

The bedroom is accessed through these glass-paneled doors from the living room. I think the black and white oriental rug fits perfectly here in combination with the wooden bench at the end of the bed. The small desk in the living room looks really nice as well and I like the art wall on the shelves next to it.

Warm home with a blue kitchen

post

I love a good statement color in an interior and think the color of these kitchen cabinets really steal the show in this space. The dark blue combined with the wood of the dining table and the countertops works really nicely together and I love that the space contains both a sofa area, dining table and kitchen.

While the blue steels the show in the kitchen, mustard and yellow decorate the bedroom in a very nice way and add a subtile yet fresh touch here.

Gorgeous dark brown interior

post

I love bumping into an interior where I have a hard time which images to select for a blog post. It just means that every single angle is just as inspiring as the other and that certainly is the case with this beautiful home. The dark oak wood kitchen seems to be the center of this home and the daylight hits the white marble just perfectly.

The adjacent dining room is simple yet stunning with the brown walls and the statement Wästberg light* that comes back in the kitchen as well. It’s quite a special look that both walls and ceiling are painted in such a dark color, yet are combined with a light wood flooring.

The bedroom and living room area upstairs look very different from the rest of the house and were kept in a minimal and light palette.

All white home with terracotta accents

post

An all-white home can easily look quite clinical, but this cozy yet fresh space proves you just need to add the right accessories to make it work. The terracotta of the sofa and textiles in the bedroom do the majority of the work in cozying things up, while the black accents in the furniture pieces add a bit of contrast.

I like the wall shelf and desk in the living room. It’s a great way to utilize this wall space.

Cozy living space

post

The weather has turned here in Munich (hoping for some late summer days still though!) and it has me longing for a cozy vibe at home, without getting the blankets and candles out yet. This home has the perfect late summer coziness to it if you ask me and I like the mix of vintage pieces with fresh green plants and happy colors.

The yellow patterned bedspread does a lot to the happy looking living room and I love the big plant in the basket next to the bed. The art wall in nude and terracotta tints works very nicely above the sofa ad I think the kitchen dining table is the perfect combo of vintage and modern.

Living kitchen in wood

post

There is something about the warm wood, combined with the cool tints of the marble and the historical details of the building that really speaks to me here. The way the kitchen island divides the kitchen from the dining area is very fitting for this big space and I like that the light wood tints come back in the dining table and chairs.
