I love the beautiful living room area in this home especially. The walls have been painted in a soft beige wall color, which makes the white sofa and area rug stand out in a very nice way. In contrast to this white sofa, the trio of black coffee tables combined with a beige armchair and different beige textiles makes for a very interesting and cozy look which is complemented by the oak wood round dining table with the white series 7 chairs.
The bedrooms, which are on the lower level of this home have subtle grey walls which are combined with tints of beige and cognac. The guest bedroom has a small workspace as well and I love the way the cognac leather office chair matches the rust-colored bedsheets in the guest bedroom.
This home has kind of an awkward layout to say the least, with the curved wall where you have the front door to the niches in both the kitchen and the living room, but I think the furniture has been placed in a smart way to optimize the usage of this rather small space.
The basic color palette with warm and beige details works very nicely in this space. The white linen sofa in the living room combines so nicely with the oak wood of the coffee table and the beige in the big print. The small niche in front of the window has been used as a small living room home office, which is the perfect function of this area which would otherwise be wasted.
The dining area in the kitchen has been placed inside the niche as well and I love the way all the white works together here. The niche-shelf inside the wall is very cute and I love the way the green plant just pops out of all this white.
The bedroom, even though decorated in a very lovely way, has a subtle wallpaper I would definitely choose to replace but the way the textiles on the bed and the accessories work together makes up for this. Imagine a plain beige wall here and this room would be perfection.
The walls in this beautiful turn-of-the-century Swedish home have been kept white, with the exception of the very subtle grey wall color in the bedroom. The fabrics and accessories in both the dining and living room are picked out in a beige and orange palette. The dining room has these sheer beige curtains* which work so well with the cork on the cabinet and the beige in the prints. I love the lightness of the glass table as well, through which you can see the subtle grey carpet underneath.
The living room has deeper orange accents and I love the way the color of the curtain matches up with the cognac leather on the armchair and the pillowcases on the white fabric sofa. The main furniture in this room (like the cabinet, sofa, and area rug) is kept in a light palette so that the details stand out even more.
The kitchen has a completely different color theme to it with those beautiful blue vintage series 7 chairs around the white tulip table. The dining area takes away all the attention here and brightens up the modest yet stylish kitchen in grey, brass, and white marble.
The bedroom again takes on the same color palette as the living area with shades of beige and orange decorating the bed. I love the way the large wardrobe has been custom fitted around the door and the little home office area works so nicely in front of that window as well.
The kitchen in this Swedish home has some really nice features like the large old doors going up to the balcony, the little round window and the vintage cabinets that seem to be from the original kitchen many years ago. The windows, vintage elements and the old hardwood flooring are all painted white, which contrasts so nicely with the darker grey wall color.
The grey and white of the interior makes a great base palette for the furniture and interior accessories, which is quite colourful and interesting. The little niche next to the kitchen is used as a dining area and I think since it’s in this half closed space, it has become so cozy. I love the combination of the brass Bumling pendant hanging above the dining table with the red dining chairs and the colors in the art print. Combining this many vibrant colors is daring, yet spot on.ย
Making a new-built home (or a modernized one) feel cozy and inviting is often more challenging because the home itself might lack some interesting features and character. Not to worry though as every home can be turned into a place that is cozy, personal, and welcoming.
In this beautiful apartment especially, lots of textiles have been introduced to add textures. The combination of sheer white and beige curtains* don’t only dim out the light coming from these large windows, but they also hide away the TV which is in between the two windows, which is so clever. The fluffy beige area rug adds a lot of texture to the living room which is amplified by the dusty blue fabric sofa and the beige fabric armchair.
The long row of Ikea Besta cabinets on the living room wall adds ample storage and I love that this has been made into a feature wall with these art prints and the Flos 265 wall lamp* which also functions as a dining table lamp. The dining area itself adds some welcome contrast to the look because of the walnut wood on the dining chairs.
The empty space between the living room and the hallway has been used as a home office and even though the pink bedroom doesn’t have any natural light coming in, it has been made cozy and inviting nonetheless.
I think this small loft home is designed to perfection. The space, even though very beautiful with those large industrial-style windows, is rather awkward to decorate, yet a very functional layout has been achieved by the designers.
The kitchen was built in the area when you come in and it goes wall-to-wall, with bottom and top cupboards for optimal use of storage space. The white kitchen with black hardware goes over into hallway storage as well when getting closer to the front door. This is a great kitchen solution for small spaces. Because the kitchen is placed on the wall, this leaves ample space for a big dining table and a comfy sofa area by the window.
The bedroom, which also has a slightly awkward floor plan with these angled walls has been made into a home office as well, which is the ideal use of space of this narrow area by the window. It’s all about planning, isn’t it? The mixture of the grey linen duvet cover*, with the white and burned orange pillowcases* adds depth and character to the palette of the bedroom, even though the walls are kept white.
I think all (or mostly) beige homes can sometimes look a bit bland. This beautiful Swedish apartment though shows you how you can introduce strong features into your beige palette to give it character and style so it looks far from boring. The walls of each room are either left white or painted in a different shade of beige. The living room is painted in a more grey tint of beige, which works so nicely with the fresh green plants which brighten up the entire room. Note the large standing mirror here as well, reflecting the light and the space in such a beautiful way.
The niche next to the living room is used both as a storage space and as a little home office, which looks so cozy to get some work done. This small desk area is equipped with a shelf on the wall to keep decor and office supplies and since this space would usually not be used for anything else, it’s a great idea to turn it into a home office.
The kitchen and dining area are painted in a warmer and darker beige, which lets the white kitchen stand out so nicely. In contrast to this, you have walnut wood dining chairs that add character to this beautiful space. The kitchen wraps around a corner, which is an interesting solution perfect for small kitchen designs as well.
The walls of the bedroom are kept white, with the bedlinen and accessories in a beige palette as well to connect the bedroom to the rest of the apartment visually. What really stands out in this room though is the full wardrobe in a dark walnut wood, which covers the entire wall opposite of the bed, including a sitting area. This wardrobe is such a statement don’t you think?
I love this beautiful turn of the century Swedish apartment with lots of natural light coming in through those beautiful tall windows. The wall colors have mainly been kept white, with the exception of a very light warm grey in the bedroom. These light wall colors reflect the daylight beautifully and makes the green of the plants and the subtile colors in the accessories stand out so much.
The cognac leather armchair and the rust tints in the pillow cases on the beige linen sofa warm up the sofa area and make it cozy and inviting. I love the vintage desk there as well and even though it would feel a little bit weird to me looking at myself the entire time while working, I think the mirror does a great job reflecting the space and the sunlight coming through the windows.
The light grey shaker kitchen with the natural countertop stone in beige works beautifully with the white soaped flooring and the round vintage dining table stands out perfectly in this palette.
The bedroom looks cozy and inviting and I love the tall mirror which can be seen from the other room. The beige and white bed linen* on the bed combined with the dark grey throw match very nicely with the wall color and the black accents in the side tables and the wall lamps.
This turn of the century Swedish home is mainly decorated in tints of white and beige which works so nicely with the abundance of daylight coming through those beautiful old windows. The kitchen and living room are made into one big area, you can still see a small part of where the wall used to be (such a nice touch and a wink to the past).
The white sofa combined with the light area rug and the white &Tradition armchair form the perfect white canvas for the contrasting black marble coffee table and the oak side table. The oak dining chairs at the dinner table match this look perfectly and the black and oak details in the kitchen complete the look in this color palette perfectly.
I think the combination of the beige and warm elements in this home like the white soaped wooden flooring and the exposed brick wall works so nicely with the blue paint color on the bedroom wall and the blue kitchen cabinet fronts.
The navy blue on the kitchen cabinets is paired up with wooden details and a very light beige wall. I think this combination of warm and cool works so nicely and the round dining table in front of the exposed brick wall is beautiful as well.
The bedroom has a muted dark blue wall, and just like the warm and cool combination in the galley kitchen, also here the cool blue is combined with warmer elements. I especially like the little vintage table next to the window which has been used as a home office desk. The bedroom wardrobe has the same color as the walls as well, which is such a nice touch.
