The custom woodwork in this beautiful turn of the century apartment is so amazing I think. The sage green of the kitchen cabinets goes so nicely with the oak panelling on the wall and I love the way the same construction comes back in the little niche in between the kitchen and living room where display shelving and a little bench has been created.

The round dining table has the same sage green linoleum color as the kitchen cupboard and I think the Thonet bentwood chairs work so nicely with all the wood in the kitchen.

The warm grey color on the walls in this Swedish home softens up the look of this entire space. I love the way the white &Tradition Little Petra armchair*, the white linen curtains*, textiles, and art prints pop out of this wall color. The large wooden bench opposite the sofa adds an opportunity to display pretty objects, yet doesn’t make this side too heavy. This is a rather small living room after all. The large round mirror reflects the daylight coming from the living room and adds an extra source of light to the room.

The black vintage desk in the corner of the living room works wonderfully together with the contrasting white bentwood chair and I absolutely love the brass details on this antique piece. 

The warm grey bedroom has been decorated in a warm palette as well with tints of beige, wood, and a pop of nude pink in the pillowcase on the bed.

I love the contrasting black and brown tints that appear everywhere throughout this small studio home. The living room gets this warm glow from the natural daylight coming through these sheer beige linen curtains* and the heather has been covered by a long bench going almost the entire length in front of the window.

The brown velvet sofa combines very nicely with the black in the art prints and small furniture. The dining table has the same color palette, with a beige linen table cloth* and dark wooden bentwood chairs for contrast.

The bedroom is a small space, yet it has a hotel room feeling because of the curtains going from wall-to-wall. The same color palette can be found in this room as well, tying it together with the other areas of the home.

I think this is such a cozy and inviting studio home. It’s a small space and the bedroom and living room share the same room, separated by a subtile white curtain attached to the ceiling. The living room area uses a natural area rug combined with a white sofa, which is a light and natural look that looks fresh combined with the green plants.

The small bedroom area has a natural beige palette, enhanced by the large statement print on the wall. The window sill is used as  a bedside table as well and the white wardrobe has been extended towards the wall for a built-in look.

I like the all white dining area in the kitchen as well, combined with the gallery wall and the light beige curtains. This is such a bright look, which is still cozy.

I love all the beautiful contrasting tints in this Swedish home. The living room has subtle light grey walls, combined with a white sofa, a white sofa table, and bookshelves that extend over the doorway. The black accents in the art prints, small furnishings, and textiles contrast very nicely with the white surfaces, the grey wall, and the soaped oak flooring.

On the wall going to the kitchen, a small workspace has been mounted on the wall as a perfect spot for getting some work done. The vintage dining table combined with the black bentwood chairs contrasts with the white kitchen and grey walls here as well. The contrast really is a theme that connects the different rooms in the apartment.

I have talked about GSI Ceramica and their innovations for the bathroom here on the blog before. The high end Italian brand is known for their evolving technical innovations in Research and Development and today I wanted to tell you a little bit more about their Extraglaze® Antibacterial enamel technology, which is a material enriched with silver and titanium ions that ensure 99.99% antibacterial action, easier and faster cleaning and greater shine.

No matter how you design a space, the design and aesthetics always have to go hand in hand with functionality. This is even more important in the bathroom, where it’s so crucial that the design is supported by hygiene, durability and reliability. Cleaning and hygiene are a big part of what we do in the bathroom and when designing a bathroom space it’s important to pick out elements that can helps us maintain a clean and hygienic bathroom for years to come, without too much effort.

The R&D department at GSI Ceramica has developed a number of patented extras, which are included in almost all their collections. The Extraglaze®Antibacterial ceramic finishing is one of these innovations (along with the Swirlflush® patented flushing system, which uses only 4,5l with each flush instead of the commonly used 9l – you can read more about this in my previous blogpost), which ensures anti-bacterial protections and renders surfaces extremely smooth and polished for a perfect hygiene that is easy to achieve and maintain.

The Extraglaze®Antibacterial ceramic finishing is present on all the GSI products in the beautifully designed bathroom space in the pictures. The interior features a simple collection of products with a minimal style, which can be customised to meet a wide range of spaces and requirements and its minimal design can stand the test of time. Once combined with accessories and fixtures, this range creates a pleasing, functional elegant and minimal bathroom space. I love that the bathroom space is designed as a tranquil space in a modern home. The dark wood panelling on the walls provides the perfect backdrop for the minimal washbasins, wall hung wc’s, and bidets, which all contrast so nicely against the darker wood. All the sanitary ware in the pictures has the Extraglaze®Antibacterial ceramic finishing which reduces surface irregularities to a minimum. This prevents lime deposits, leaves the surfaces shinier, reduces bacteria counts and makes cleaning easier.  Anyone living in Germany like myself, where the water is so hard can certainly appreciate not having to wipe down scaling every other day right ? The anti-bacterial formula is also applied to all the GSI Ceramic seats and covers, wich makes them very hygienic. The GSI toilets are glazed internally in every part that comes into contact with water, including the drain, which avoids absorption of waster water and unpleasant odours.

This might be the less thought of aspect when designing a bathroom, but it’s just as important as picking the right design, if not actually more important. Think about how many years you will live with the same bathroom and how often you use or clean it. It’s so important to make the right decisions when picking out sanitary ware.

The location of the styling is very impressive with the massive window, but I think the styling of the different models is very much on point as well.

This studio home with a living room and bedroom combined just looks so cozy, doesn’t it? The different kinds of textiles in warm and rich tints combined make this space characterful and inviting. The fluffy area rug combined with the warm beige walls and the green velvet sofa has an interesting effect and I just love the little bedroom corner with the piece of art. The window sill is used as a bedside table, which makes sense in such a small space and there is a little storage closet that has been used to place a small desk.

Can a home get any cosier than this one ? All the beige tints combined with so many different textiles and art prints set the perfect mood in this Swedish home and the fireplace is the cherry on top I think.

The living room has a light base palette consisting out of a white area rug and a light beige sofa and armchair, which is enhanced by beige linen curtains*, pillow cases in warm tints* and wood details in the furniture.

Both bedrooms are accessible from the living room and since they have the same color palette, they contribute to the warm look that has been achieved in the entire apartment. The bigger bedroom has a small niche leading up to a balcony, which has been used for a little office space.

Swedish kitchen design firm Nordiska Kök has teamed up with interior designer wtpstudios to design a classic yet minimalistic kitchen in a historic water tower just outside of Stockholm. The kitchen features warm-stained oak woodwork and a lively arabescato marble. The oak has been stained with a warm cherry tone that matches the floor and mid-century modern furniture, as well as the color scheme of the building itself, which was built in 1910 out of dark red bricks in a national romantic style with arched windows.

The natural pattern of the veins of the marble creates contrast in the otherwise calm and modest kitchen and adds character and personality to the space.
