White home with character

post

The living room of this beautiful Swedish home is bright and white, enhanced by the light wooden flooring and the contrasting black accents in the furniture. This apartment has two dining tables, one in the living room and one in the kitchen, both in front of a large window, which would make it hard to pick where I would have my coffee in the morning.

The kitchen has a minimal shaker look and I love the match between the grey cabinets and the warm grey color on the kitchen walls. The turn of the century doors and windows really stand out against this wall color and I love the way the small wallpapered office space comes peeking through. I think this wallpaper really makes a statement and adds character to this home.

The bedroom is painted in a cooler grey, which is warmed up with the dark, dusty pink duvet covers and the beautiful Japanese rice paper pendant. The TV on the wall is nicely integrated into an art wall, which makes it less visible.

Cozy home in beige and grey

post

I love the cozy vibe in this apartment decorated in tints of grey and beige for a cozy and inviting effect. The living room has a cleaner color palette with white walls and grey furniture. The fluffy area really adds a cozy touch to this room and the black accents in the furniture together with the green Monstera plants look interesting in this otherwise grey environment. The autumn branch is a really nice touch and I love the hanging wardrobe rail as the perfect solution for a small hallway storage system.

The dining  area in the all grey kitchen looks very inviting and I love the combination of the vintage dining table with the folded pendant light and the classic Borge Møgensen chairs.

The bedroom is decorated in a warmer color palette with the warm grey walls combined with the dark grey bedcover. The rustic peg rail really stands out nicely on the wall as well.

Cozy and inviting newly build home

post

A Turn of the century home naturally has this way of making everything look cozy, yet a newly build home needs a lot more effort to achieve the same results. This doesn’t mean however that a cozy and inviting atmosphere can’t be achieved, on the contrary.

Look at this beautiful Swedish apartment for example, where beautiful wall colors, accessories and textiles are combined for a cozy look that creates character and style.

The cozy sofa area works very nicely with the linen fabric cover, the mixture of pillow cases and the velvet pouf on the light area rug. The round mirror above the sofa reflects the light coming from the windows, which brightens up this corner. The round wooden dining table that stands in the middle of the kitchen and living area contrasts very nicely against all the grey in the kitchen and I love the combination of the different Thonet dining chairs.

The bedroom has a warm beige color palette, which is warmed up even more by using a dusty pink duvet cover. The combination of beige and white linen curtains works very nicely on the window as well.

Industrial loft with concrete walls

post

This beautiful newly built home with concrete walls is something different from the inspiring interiors I usually post on this blog yet it’s so unique and characterful as well. A concrete interior is more challenging to decorate, but this space is cozy and inviting, despite the more industrial character of the structure.

The black kitchen works very nicely with the concrete walls and the living area with the fluffy area rug and the fabric sofa contrasts very nicely with the harder look of the kitchen cabinets. The small black dining table fits into the corner of the angled walls and I love the way the bedroom comes peeking through from the kitchen.

The bedroom has a soft rug as well and this combined with a beautiful beige linen duvet cover and soft lighting makes this space cozy and inviting. Items like the rattan screen and the beige linen curtains going from wall to wall really soften up the concrete in a very nice way.

Delicate home with a touch of pink

post

Imagine this beautiful home without the soft pink accents and natural wooden furniture and it would have a completely different look wouldn’t it ?

I love the beige, white and wood palette in the living room with green plants and a beautiful gallery wall making this room special. The bedroom is peeking through with its wonderfully delicate color palette and pairs up so nicely with the neutral colors in the living room.  The pink duvet cover combined with the beige pillow cases and the pink shades in the art work works so nicely together and I love the small desk in front of the window here as well.

Home with a moody look

post

I love the soft light in this beautiful Swedish apartment, which casts a moody glow on the light flooring and textiles combined with the darker furniture. The living room and kitchen are combined in one space making optimal use of the layout by placing the kitchen in the corner against the wall.

The burgundy velvet fabric of the sofa really stands out against the grey walls, beige linen curtains* and the fluffy white area rug and I love the way this burgundy comes back on the bedspread in the bedroom and the armchair in the office.

The round mirror that is placed above the black dining table and chairs reflects the light coming from the windows and I love the way the small gallery wall is placed by the sofa, separating both areas visually.

Ferm Living Christmas 2020

post

I always like the new catalog images from Danish design brand Ferm Living and the one from their new Christmas collection is not an exception. Moody candle lit scenes in warm colors set the stage for this seasons Christmas accessories and these pictures make me want to start introducing small hints of Christmas all throughout my home.

Cozy home with mint green details

post

I love it when a certain color palette comes back in the different rooms of a home. It connects the different spaces. I love the mint green kitchen in this Swedish home, which comes back in the accessories and green linen curtains in the living room.

The kitchen is very cozy and inviting and even though the combination of the shaker cabinet fronts with the wooden countertop and the white tiles is quite common, it’s the color that makes it special. A smaller module of the kitchen comes back in front of the window and a beautiful dining table with a pendant above it is placed in the center of the kitchen.

The bedroom would work so nicely with a mint green duvet cover, but the pink linen one* works very nicely with the grey wall colors and the vintage items as well.

While I love the mint green textiles and accessories in this home, a mint green bedroom wall just like in this Scandinavian apartment would have worked so nicely as well I think.

Cozy bedroom with a classic touch

post

I think this is such an interesting looking bedroom. The walls are painted in a dark blueish grey, which sets a moody scene that makes the white linen bedding* stand out from the walls. The classic and vintage pieces like the dark wooden frame, the chest at the end of the bed and the mirror on the wall make this space look interesting and characterful as well.

Bright bedroom with a touch of peach

post

This is quite a regular bedroom with, yet what makes it special is the combination of the cool grey bedroom walls with the peachy duvet cover*. This combination looks fresh yet subtle and has a delicate look that is not too feminine either. A duvet cover takes up a rather large surface, especially in a small bedroom, and can really change up the entire look of a space.
