Cozy home in beige tints

post

I think this beautiful Swedish home looks so cozy and inviting. The walls in this place are all painted in a very warm grey beige, which makes the turn-of-the-century elements like the wood stove and the moldings on the doors and windows stand out very nicely.

The living room and beige bedroom are connected with wing doors and both the sofa and the bed are decorated with many blankets and pillows to cozy things up. I love the use of beige and yellow in the living room and the bed has been decorated with a beautiful brown blanket combined with different striped pillows.

The kitchen pairs up a beautiful granite countertop with light grey cabinets and a beautiful white subway tile backsplash to finish the look off.

Kitchen inspiration from Kitchen and Beyond

post

Look at this gorgeous kitchen from Swedish Kitchen and Beyond.
I absolutely love the way the tall cabinets and the kitchen island go together, but also have a different tint so that the island stands out as a design element. The color palette is quite cool, which goes so nicely with the withe washed wooden floorboards.

Cozy studio home in beige and light blue

post

This Swedish apartment is decorated in such a cozy way and even though it’s a very small space, it still looks spacious. The two pieces of furniture that stand out the most in this otherwise quite a neutral color palette are the vintage wood cabinet in the living room and the wooden bench in the kitchen. These two vintage pieces add a lot of character to this look and combine very nicely with the simple furniture and beige textiles.

The dining area next to the white kitchen with black countertops is placed into quite a small area, but by working with a collapsible table and a bench, it fits.  The bench looks cozier with all the pillows and allows for more seating area than two chairs.

Elegant studio home

post

I think the kitchen in this home looks very cozy and inviting. The dining table with the rattan lamp and chairs in front of the window looks amazing and I love the peg rail on he wall in combination with the shelf.

The area that is most interesting in this home is the living and bedroom area though, which is decorated in a very elegant way. A wall has been installed in between two areas with windows letting in natural sunlight from the bedroom into the living area. The curtains that are added to the windows separate the bedroom even more from the rest of the space and the bed fits exactly, automatically turning the window sill into a night stand.

Grey home with green accents

post

This apartment is something special if you ask me and I love the way it has been renovated to make the layout work. The door where you come into the apartment is painted green, which is such a nice touch. The green door stands out so much against all the grey, white, and wood in this home.

The kitchen has been built in front of the window and goes over into the living and dining area. The wall treatments have the same color as the kitchen cabinets, which makes everything work as a whole it makes the white subway tile backsplash stand out nicely. A custom-built high shelving has been fitted over the entire wall in this room, which is great for decorations and it also goes over into a hanger in the little hallway.

There is a small office desk in the hallway going from the bedroom to the living room, which is such a nice use of this otherwise small area as well.

Cozy living kitchen

post

I think a separate dining room is quit the luxury these days, unless you live in a house with lots of space. To save space, it’s a great solution to combine the kitchen, dining and living room. The layout can be designed in a way that allows for all three areas to harmoniously work together.

Take this beautiful Swedish kitchen for example, where the peninsula kitchen island is also the division between the living room and kitchen. The kitchen itself has been built against the wall without any windows, leaving the prime spot for the dining table, which is bathing in sunlight. The sofa is facing the kitchen, which seems perfect for when you are entertaining guests, doesn’t it ?

Small studio home in grey and beige

post

I think the color palette in this beautiful Swedish home is so on point. All the different beige and grey tones work so nicely as a base palette, while the black accents in the furniture, lighting, and fabrics add a beautiful contrast to the mix.

The bedroom and the living room are separated by a curtain that has been hung from the ceiling, which allows for an open and closed layout at the same time. The curtain has a very light look as well, as opposed to a wall or other type of separation. There is not a lot of space available in the bedroom area to add a big wardrobe (I assume this is placed in the hallway of this apartment), but a little bit of storage space was added high up on the wall above the bed. These subtle closed white cabinets don’t disturb or take away any space above the bed and still add a bit of cherished closed storage.

The round dining table in front of the kitchen window works very nicely as well with the white Gubi Semi pendant centered above it and I love the way the area in between the fridge and the angled wall has been utilized with a custom-made open shelf.

Mia Sahlin’s beautiful Swedish home

post

This beautiful Swedish villa belongs to Mia Sahlin and her husband and it was recently featured in an article over at the Residence Magazine blog. The owners of this home are also the owners of the company Kitchen and Beyond and Cupboards and goods. Needless to say, the kitchen really is the center of this home, with these beautiful green tiles around the kitchens stove and a glass cabinet filled with Royal Copenhagen treasures.

I think the villa is renovated in such a beautiful way, with respect to the historic details, yet with such nice finishes that feel cozy and inviting. To find out more about the owners of this home and where all the beautiful details are from, I encourage you to read the article on the Residence Magazine blog

Kitchen inspiration from Kvänum

post

This kitchen from Kvänum combines all the right colors and materials if you ask me. The warm white on the bottom cabinets combines so wonderfully with the lines in the grey and white marble and the walnut high cabinets and dining table in the same material finish off this look so perfectly.

I also love that the high cabinets that are used are just placed on one side and are made out of glass, which makes them lighter and perfect for displaying a selection of pretty ceramics.
