White home with a green touch

post

This beautiful Swedish home is decorated in a vert light palette, mixing shades of white, light grey and beige with just a few contrasting touches in the green plants, the leather of the lounge chair in the living room, or the velvet pillow* on the bed.

This light palette might be boring to some, yet I find it calming and it has such a clean look, which reflects the natural light coming in from the windows. By painting the walls in a very light grey, the light furniture and accessories stand out a lot more as well and the green leafs from the plants become the eye-cathing element in this interior.

Canal House in Amsterdam

post

If you’re anything like me, you have always wanted to take a peek into these beautiful canal houses in Amsterdam. Well, this one is certainly a wonderful combination of beautiful historic architecture, combined with a modern interior.

This is the home of Thomas Geerlings, creative director of Framework. The building dates back to 1896 and is a former warehouse, which had to undergo a complete renovation. They went for a cozy look and feel for their family home, without loosing the history and industrial character of the former warehouse.

Minimal home in a natural palette

post

This beautiful Swedish home has been decorated in a very minimal way, yet still looks cozy and inviting. I love the big dining table with the oak Wishbone chairs and the fabric lampshade dangling above it and the large velvet sofa is a real statement piece in this room as well.

The kitchen has some turn-of-the-century built-in cabinets, which contrast very nicely with the clean lines of the newly built minimal kitchen on the other side of the room. The small dining table in front of the window with the wooden stools works perfectly for breakfast or a meal with just two people.

The bedroom has a built-in wardrobe, which matches this minimal decor and simple clean bedsheets let the beautiful fishbone flooring shine.

Beige kitchen with turn of the century elements

post
Off-white shaker kitchen cabinets, marble countertops, corner layout, stainless steel appliances, brass hardware

This light-flooded cozy Swedish kitchen with off-white cabinetry and gold hardware has some beautiful wall paneling and turn-of-century built-in cabinets, which are matched with a modern shaker kitchen in a beautiful light beige tint with marble countertops and a white subway tile backsplash.

The marble comes back in the dining table as well and I love the golden rail for hanging small cooking utensils. The area where the dining table is standing is rather small, but it works with the bench and stools in this spot.

Small and cozy studio home

post

I love the look and feel of this small studio home in Sweden, which has a separate bedroom, but very little space for a shared living room and kitchen. The U-shaped kitchen and sofa area are separated by a kitchen island and the sofa and armchairs fit perfectly on the fluffy area rug, which also fits this narrow space exactly.

The furniture in the living room is quite light, to contrast the darker kitchen, while in the bedroom everything is dark and moody. The walls are painted in a dark greenish grey color, which goes so nicely with the dusty pink bedsheets.

Light flooded home with brown and green accents

post

This home has a light grey and white base palette, which works wonderfully with the green plants, the exposed brick wall in the kitchen and elements like the sand velvet pouf in the living room and the black bentwood chairs at the dining table.

The dining table has the prime spot in the center of the apartment, in between the kitchen and the living room and it gets so much natural daylight. The kitchen is a basic Ikea one, which has been decorated with small details and a String Pocket shelf* for little decor items.

The velvet rug in the living room looks really soft and cozy and it also functions as a visual separator between the dining area and the living room, since the spaces just flow into each other in this home.

The bedroom has a beautiful bed made with a white linen bedskirt* and a light grey linen duvet cover* which matches the palette in this room. The wardrobe has been hidden behind a large velvet curtain* which really defines the look of this space.

As extra storage space in the bedroom, an Ikea Ivar cabinet is included, which has been painted in a subtle green tone combined with longer legs to give the cabinet extra height.

Dennis Valencia for Jotex

post

I love this work by stylish Dennis Valencia for Swedish Jotex. The all beige palette in which the products are staged looks so calming and soothing and it’s a palette that would look great in a real home as well. The warm textiles and details looks so well together in this palette and the minimal textured walls add an extra dimension to the look and feel of the space.

Studio home with character

post

This Swedish studio home is rather small, yet because of the high ceilings and the beautiful large windows, it still looks spacious. The off-white kitchen with the black marble countertop looks great in combination with the exposed brick wall and matches perfectly with the other black accents that can be found in the wall lamps, furniture, accessories, and prints.

The white round dining table with the black bentwood chairs seems to be the center of this apartment and has the prime spot in between those large windows. The living room and bedroom are combined and the sofa fits nicely in front of the angled wall. By placing a gallery wall on the wall next to the sofa, this area becomes more separated from the sleeping area and it adds personality to the space at the same time.

Grey shaker kitchen

post

I love this inspiring grey shaker kitchen done by Cupboards and goods.
A shaker kitchen doesn’t fit in just any interior, but it can be so perfect in an older home I think. There is something about the mixture of the straight lines combined with the classic elements and cabinet molding that just has such a great look to it.

I think this grey model with a darker grey natural stone countertop has the perfect moody atmosphere and I just love the double upper cabinet on the wall, which matches the rest of the kitchen, yet stands out at the same time.

Simple and cozy home in warm grey

post

This cozy Swedish home is almost entirely painted in a warm grey, which adds a slightly moody, yet super cozy touch all throughout the space. The decor of this apartment is rather simple, yet it doesn’t feel like anything is missing.

The color of the kitchen cabinets matches the overall color palette of this apartment very nicely and I love the combination of the grey cabinet doors with the brass handles, limestone countertop and the white tiles on the wall.

The bedroom is my favorite room in this space and I think the brass mobile comes together so nicely with the vintage side tables and the mix of textiles on the bed.
