Cozy attic home in grey

post

The walls of this cozy Swedish attic home have all been painted in the same warm light grey color, which adds a calm vibe to this space. The grey comes back in the kitchen block and is combined with warm beiges, wood, and textiles in warm colors.

My favorite area in this home must be the small black dining table which has been placed by the rough white wall. I love the contrast of the black furniture here combined with the texture on the old wall and the different prints on the gallery wall.

This one-room studio has a lot of functionalities combined, but somehow it still looks spacious and organized since all areas have been separated visually by either an area rug, a physical wall, or a gallery wall.

Cozy attic home on two levels

post

This beautiful Swedish attic home was probably quite the challenge to plan and decorate, but I think the layout turned out so nicely in the end. When stepping through the front door, you come straight into the kitchen, where a String furniture storage system for shoes and jackets is built.

The kitchen has been planned on the wall facing the staircase, making space for a round dining table in front of the window, which is the nicest spot to have dinner I think. The empty room underneath the staircase has been used for a smaller storage cupboard and the large round mirror lightens up this darker corner.

The upstairs area has both a living room and bedroom underneath the sloped roof. I love that the wooden beams are exposed and they are even more enhanced in the attic bedroom, in combination with the pale blue walls.

Light flooded studio home

post

All these inspiring small studio homes that I have been finding lately make me think it doesn’t really matter what space you have available, you can always make it work somehow. Take this small Swedish studio space for example, which features a combined bedroom and living room that has been made so cozy with all the textiles and accessories. I love the way the old doorway, which isn’t in use anymore, is used as bookshelf and the way the window sill also functions as a bedside table.

The sofa has it’s own little area, outlined by the beige area rug underneath it and I just can’t get enough of the dining area in the kitchen with the bench in front of the window.

Table setting inspiration from Pella Hedeby

post

Setting a table can be an art in itself I think and it’s such a nice thing to do when guests are coming over. These table settings are the work of one of my favorite Swedish stylists Pella Hedeby for Duka Kitchen Life and I love the way they are clean and simple (just like my cooking), yet they have a certain character which just looks so inviting.

Small yet stylish attic bedroom

post

Sloped walls can be such a challenge to decorate, but they also have the best daylight and they make a room so cozy as well, don’t you think ? Behind these old white sliding doors, a small bedroom decorated in warm tints and natural materials is hidden and I love the placement of the small mirror above the bedside table which can be seen from the other room. The art prints match the color palette of the textiles perfectly and the darker elements combine wonderfully with the dark wood beams of the roof.

Small studio home in warm colors

post

This small sunlit studio home has such a warm and cozy color palette with all the different materials and textiles in terracotta, mustard, yellow, and nude pink tints that come back in the furniture, accessories as well as in the art prints on the wall. The brown sofa stands out in this interior especially.

The bedroom is placed inside the niche behind a curtain and has been custom-built to have storage space underneath which is so important when you live in a small studio home.

I think this home is a great example that small doesn’t mean you have to make any sacrifices in terms of style.

Newly built home with sculptural pieces

post

When you live in a newly built home, it can be a little bit more challenging to add character and personality to a home and you have to work with lots of textures and materials to make the place look interesting. This newly built home in Sweden shows you a new home can be just as cozy as a turn of the century one by the use of beautiful textiles and sculptural pieces that make this place special.

The large beige fabric sofa in the living room combines so wonderfully well with the fluffy area rug and the minimal white marble coffee table. The whole look has been made more sophisticated by the curtains that go wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling. The round mirror on the way to the kitchen adds another minimal shape to the interior and reflects the daylight beautifully as well.

The bedroom has a darker palette than the rest of the home and also here the combination of textiles from the bedsheets, blankets, area rug and curtains make for a very cozy and inviting setting.

A plywood kitchen and amazing custom woodwork

post
A plywood kitchen combined with limestone countertops and a chrome faucet for an elegant look

Custom carpenter solutions are always the best option if you own a home or are planning to stay in a rental for an extended period of time. Nothing beats perfectly fitting storage solutions and I think this home is a prime example of the way these custom-built modules can be an eye-catching design element in a home.

The plywood kitchen built in an L-shaped layout must be my favorite part of this place, with the wooden cupboards matching the old hardwood flooring and the vintage Arket dining table and chairs. All the wood here gives this home such a warm look and I love that the same material comes back in the low cupboard in the bedroom and in the custom shelving in the bathroom.

The work of Anette Hallbäck

post
artwork by Anette Hallbäck in a modern greige interior

The work of Anette Hallbäck is both sculptural and textural, which results in a series of artworks that fit wonderfully in a minimal interior with a beige sofa, as shown here in these beautiful pictures. I love how every piece is different, yet so similar, with the subtle changes in curves, textures, and color giving each piece a unique look.

Anette is a Swedish Artist and Interior Designer with a long-time passion for the visual craftsmanship of interior designs as well as architecture and the creative process has always been a critical part of Anette’s life. I think it’s wonderful when interior and art meet in such a great way.

Studio Sundling Kickén

post

Talented Swedish stylists duo Sundling Kickén just shared these amazing pictures of their studio and it’s such a great representation of their work. They renovated this small space completely and worked with a natural color palette of greys, beiges and whites, enhanced with black accents and wooden pieces. They have worked with lots of textiles in different textures to add character and personality to this space and I just love the way the little coffee kitchen flows over into a storage unit to fill up the entire wall next to the window.
