Bedroom with a soft look

post

This bedroom looks very simple and elegant. There is nothing really special about it, yet it looks so balanced and inviting. I love that the bed is placed in front of the window, with these large beige curtains going from wall to wall and floor to ceiling for a hotel room look.

The bedside lamp is attached to the window sill and a wooden bedside table fits exactly next to the bed. Since the room is long and narrow, on the other side of the window, there is space for a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe solution, which is great for keeping this small room clutter free.

Open plan kitchen and living room

post

I think this home is a great example of how to make a new or semi-new apartment look cozy and inviting with the use of the right furniture, accessories and textiles. The kitchen in this home has a very modest look, nothing special, yet the dining table with the wishbone chairs and the accessories on the countertop make it look interesting.ย

An area rug in the living area makes the space extra cozy and outlines the sofa area. If the rug wasn’t there, everything would be more floating around. Adding curtains to these windows would finish off this look even better and add some more welcome texture to the clean elements in this building.

Home with character and personality

post

I love all the different details, accessories and art prints in this Swedish home, which makes it so personal and characterful. The living room is decorated in a very cozy way, the kitchen has an eye catching wall paper which contrasts nicely against the white kitchen, but my favorite room in this space is definitely the bedroom.

I love the soft pink which can be found in the gallery wall on top of the greenish grey walls. The bed is made with the most beautiful combination of white, grey and beige linen and the rug by the end of the bed adds some extra texture as well. The Monstera in the window stands out so nicely against the color of the wall and I love that the wardrobe has the same color as the wall.

Majestic living room with a beautiful fireplace

post

Other then the beautiful and majestic turn of the century ceilings, windows and wall pannelling in this Swedish home, I’m absolutely in love with the black fireplace that seems to be the center around which the entire room is planned.

A fireplace is always such a cozy element in a home, but this one is especially made for gathering around considering its position in the room and the beautiful marble details, which stand out so nicely against the light color of the walls and flooring.

Deep blue kitchen

post

I think this is such a beautiful kitchen. The deep blue color of the cupboards contrasts so nicely against the lighter countertop and the white walls and since the blue is so dark, it also has a bit of a dramatic effect that is enhanced even more by the black wishbone chairs around the dining table.

The layout of the kitchen is planned out very nicely as well, with the kitchen island in the middle and enough space for a large dining table on the other side. The somewhat weird niche, which can often be found in turn of the century buildings, has been filled up with a glass panel cupboard, which is a nice touch as well.

Pastel bathroom from Montana Furniture

post

As you might have read here on the blog before, I’m a long-time fan of Danish Montana Furniture, a Danish manufacturer of modular furniture that can be customized according to your needs and is made to order in one of the 30 new colors designed by Margrethe Odgaard.

They recently released these press images of the bathroom collection and this concrete bathroom with pastel accents and brass faucets just really spoke to me. The Montana bathroom collection consists of big and smaller elements, which can be customized in any of the 30 colors.

White and beige studio home

post
White glass partition panels in all-white studio space

I think this studio home in Sweden looks simply magical. The all-white floors look so clean and fresh, yet the warm grey walls soften everything out so nicely. The glass panel wall divider between the sleeping and living area works well for separating the two areas, but the glass also lets through the light, which is both functional and pretty to look at.

The beige, grey, and natural color palette of the furniture in the living room matches this white and warm grey room perfectly and the black dining table in the kitchen brings a welcome touch of contrast.

Simple dining area

post

I have a serious weakness for round dining tables and even more for pretty antique ones like in this beautiful Swedish dining room. I don’t know if it’s the chairs not being in two lines, or the fact that everyone faces each other, but I certainly prefer a round dining table over a rectangular one for smaller spaces.

The spot here in front of the window is just perfect for this table as well, with a pendant hanging in the center of the table to have a light source exactly where needed and to ground the dining table into the room.

Home in a warm beige palette

post

Beige palettes have really been popular in the last few months and if combined with the right textures and accent pieces, they can be interesting yet calming to look at at. I love the balanced and soft look in the living room of this Swedish apartment for example, where the bigger furniture is all white (an easy choice, which is also future proof if you ask me) but the textiles and accessories used are in a beige palette which softens out the look of this space. I love the combination of the beige* and white* linen curtains in front of the window that soften out the daylight. The warm textiles and fabrics on the pillow cases and the big beige art piece on the wall enhance this palette even further and the black armchair and dining room chairs add a bit of a welcome contrast to this setup.

The all white galley kitchen has been finished of with wooden accessories and also here the black dining chairs are coming back for a touch of contrast. I love the open shelf above the countertop as well where the glasses and bowls are kept.

The bedroom is probably the most modestly decorated room in this home with the white linen bedsheets*, beige throw* and beautiful art piece above the bed being the main decor elements here.

The new home of Ferm Living

post

Danish design brand Ferm Living just opened its doors to a new showroom in Copenhagen, where everyone can come and shop and take a closer look at their designs. The building was originally constructed in 1777 and serves as the perfect historic location for displaying its collection.

I’m always a fan of their collections and the way they present their products at fairs, in their catalogs, and in their old Home in Copenhagen. I think this showroom is no exception from this pristine sense of styling, combinations of colors, and materials, not to mention the emphasis on the historic details of the building.

I can’t wait to visit their new space, so far the bathroom and the kitchen are my favorite spots as far as I can tell from these beautiful pictures.
