Ivywod cottage by Studio Gabrielle

post

This cottage home in Harleston, Norfolk was recently designed by  Studio Gabrielle. The medieval building has been reimagined with luxurious warmth and thoughtful sensory experiences for a cozy setting that lets the historic details of this cottage home shine. The original textures on the walls, flooring ceilings and wood beams are combined with delicate accessories and interior pieces for a mixture that is both elegant and respectful towards the history of the building.

Villa Rauhanniemi by Johanna Laajisto

post

This gorgeous cabin is the latest work of Finnish Studio Johanna Laajisto. Wood is the main material used on both the exterior and interior, which is common for a cabin, but there is something about the elegance of these wide oak plank flooring, combined with the warm grey on the walls and the grey marble stone used for the kitchen worktop that looks sophisticated, delicate and high end.

Like most Finnish cabins, there is a sauna in the cabin as well. Both the bathroom and sauna are tiled with a deep red tile in a beautiful herringbone pattern, which goes exceptionally well with the concrete wall covering and the pine wood.

Johanna Måwe’s beautiful home

post

This is the beautiful home of Johanna Måwe in Sweden, featured in Plaza Interior magazine. which has such a beautiful combination of sculptural elements, turn of the century architectural details and fine textiles and textures for a soft look with both bright and dark areas.

I love the round sculptural dining table with the &Tradition Formakami pendant* in the kitchen. The floor to ceiling linen curtains* add texture to this area and the warm grey wall color adds softness.

The living room looks very bright, with the white linen sofa (It’s the Ikea Söderhamn with a Bemz custom cover*) combined with the beige velvet area rug and the glass coffee table. The round mirror on the wall reflects the light even more, which has such a great effect in this space.

Home in fresh green and velvet blue

post
Sage green living room walls combined with a dark blue velvet sofa

I like the color combinations in this beautiful Swedish home. The muted green, grey, and beige wall colors are rather modest wall colors, yet in combination with each other and with the blue velvet couch, they have a bold effect.

I think the combination of warm and cool tints works very nicely in the living room, where the green walls and blue sofa are combined with the warm wood of the wall shelf, the bench by the wall, and the hardwood flooring. The same warm and cool combo works nicely in the dining area in the kitchen, where a cool grey wall is combined with a warm beige gallery wall and cognac leather Series 7 chairs.

Turn of the century home in Ukraine

post

I’m so impressed by this renovation concept of a turn-of-the-century home in Ukraine, done by Lis Design Studio.  The original elements of the beautiful historic building are kept and enhanced by combining them with classic furniture pieces in natural materials and with clean lines and custom carpenter modules for minimal storage opportunities.

As you can see this is a 3D visualization, but I would love to see the final result, which I’m sure will be just as amazing as these images.

A white Scandinavian shaker kitchen from Nordiska Kök

post
A white shaker kitchen with a grey marble countertop and stainless steel cabinet handles

Another beautiful kitchen realization from Nordiska Kök, this time in a beautiful turn-of-the-century home in the Frederiksberg district in Copenhagen. The kitchen design is a classic white shaker kitchen, but with a Scandinavian touch which makes it contemporary and minimalistic.

Tints of warm grey (Farrow and Ball’s Hardwick white, which results in greige kitchen cabinets) and white form the perfect backdrop to make the natural marble worktop shine. The high cupboards on the wall add a lot of storage space, yet by not making them wall-to-wall this still looks light and airy.

Carolina Storm’s home

post

In the latest issue of ELLE Decoration DK the beautiful home of Carolina Storm was featured and it’s an amazing space with these large black windows, combined with the light hardwood flooring and a beautiful interior styled by Pella Hedeby.

I think the living room and dining area have a great loft-look with a sophisticated and sculptural vibe which is softened out by that fluffy area rug and the natural wooden coffee table.

In the bedroom, I love that the bed is covered with the wool blanket from Linnea Andersson* which gives the entire bedroom a fresh look.

Beige home with a delicate look

post

I love the light that is coming through those big windows in the dining area of this gorgeous apartment. Placing the long dining table in front of this spot is such a good design decision, it works beautifully there. This space is decorated in a very simple way, which lets the original elements of the architecture shine.  The dining room lays in between the bedroom and living room and I love that you can see the different rooms through those old doors.

In the bedroom, the owners have built a custom solution which combines an elevated bed with storage, which is so clever for making the most use out of a small space.

Small bedroom with a unique shelf

post

As you might know, I love seeing creative solutions in small homes and this one is just so cute I just had to share it. This small bedroom has a small old built in cabinet, from which the door was removed. I love the way these shelves are styled in tints of warm beige, nude pink and burned orange. The small bed fits exactly next to this shelf and this leaves enough space by the window so this space doesn’t feel too cramped.

Soft home with black accents

post

Look at this beautiful sunlit apartment on two levels. The very light grey walls combined with the white painted hardwood flooring form the perfect canvas for the light furniture with black accent pieces for contrast.

The living room looks very soft an delicate with the light linen sofa (It’s an old Ikea model, with a custom Bemz cover*) and the soft beige rug. I love the distressed vase with the plant on the pedestal next to the sofa and the nude pink* and velvet mustard* pillow cases add warmth to this look.

The dining area in the kitchen has so much contrast with the black dining table and chairs, which I think looks perfect in front of those large impressive windows and underneath the Chrome Gubi Semi pendant*.
