Cozy Swedish kitchen

post

How cozy is this kitchen please ? I love the wooden dining table against the wall with the open shelving. You can keep decor and items you often need on those shelves and they make for a great look, especially with those plant dangling from them.

The kitchen itself works very nicely with the light grey cupboard fronts and the marble countertop. I also really like those black ceiling lamps from DCW Editions, which make sure you always have enough light to cook with.

Simple and cozy home

post

This home works so well in its simplicity. The warm grey walls in the apartment add a bit of moodiness and combine really nicely with the warm natural tints in the decor like the straw area rug in the living room or the beautiful exposed brick backsplash in the kitchen.

I love it when an interior works in its simplicity. Look at the bedroom for example, which works so nicely with the eye catching black lamp, the green plant in the window and the simple linen bedding.

Simple Kitchen behind sliding doors

post

It’s not the kitchen itself that I’m inspired by (though I do find the green countertop and the open shelving work well here) but rather the way the layout is fitted within these old turn of the century walls. The small space behind those beautiful sliding doors is used to fit the entire kitchen and by leaving them open you have a semi open plan kitchen which comes peeking through from the living room.

Linnéa Salmén’s home

post

I follow Swedish stylist Linnea Salmèn’s Instagram for a long time and always find it inspiring how she uses a mix of patterns and materials to create stylings that are true masterpieces. I have seen glimpses of here home on her Instagram, but it’s a whole and other thing to see it professionally photographed.

The Residence Magazine blog just featured her home which used to be an artists studio. Splashes of colored paint are still visible on the pillar apparently, which she kept there so you can still see this was once a painters’ studio. I highly encourage you to read the full article about Linnea’s home.

Characterful turn of the century home

post

I love the character and contrast this home has.  The vintage black leather armchairs really pop out in the living room and the sofa corner is decorated with a beautiful gallery wall that spreads over both walls and divides the area from the dining room. So does the large fluffy area rug as well, which also adds so much coziness.

The bedroom comes peeking through from the living room through those beautiful wing doors and a fitting wardrobe has been installed there on the wall for ample storage space.

The art prints and black accent furniture pieces, combined with the vintage finds really make this home very characterful and personal.

Home in pastel colors

post

I’m loving the pastel color palette in this newly build home. The dark grey flooring can easily become very heavy, but with a lighter palette, the interior looks very soft, cozy and inviting.

I really like the round dining table in front of the minimal light grey kitchen (though it could use a slightly bigger area rug if you ask me). The sofa works well in this rather small corner and I like the open plan towards the bedroom as well. I think the pops of yellow combined with the wooden furniture and beige textiles work very well in this home in general.

Soft and cozy beige home

post

More than anything I like the soft look of this home. The warm beige color palette in the living room combines wonderfully with the green plants, light furniture and light area rug in this space. I think the little String shelf desk in the corner of this room work so nicely as well.

The beige walls in the kitchen look more fresh as they are combined with the dark green color of the kitchen cabinets. I love the white round dining table here, it works perfectly in this space.

The color palette in the bedroom is very eye catching as well, with the dark blue duvet covers that make the room a bit more moody, yet still fresh. I like the vintage ladder next to the bed, such a playful touch.

Luxurious Swedish apartment

post

I’m so in awe of this luxurious Swedish home for sale and the level of attention that has been put into the design. The living room seems to be the room where all the rooms of the apartment meet and this really is such a majestic space with the slightly odd shape, simple wainscoting and so much empty space around the furniture. I like the combination of the straight lines of the coffee table and the poufs, combined with the organic shape of the sofa, they work very nicely together.

The white kitchen with black cabinet hardware consists of a low wall module, an island with an integrated dining table, and a higher module against the other wall. You need a lot of space for this type of setup, but it works so nicely and opens up the space towards those big curved windows.

The master bedroom is rather small and narrow, which is why they have worked with a custom-built wardrobe solution that warps around the bed and works with the height of the space. By adding a wall lamp and headboard inside the niche that is created with the closet modules, this becomes a nice design element. I recently compiled a list of built-in wardrobe ideas that go over the bed in case you are looking to implement a similar solution in your bedroom.

The bathroom features beautiful cage wall lights with black metal, that is matched by black metal fixtures.

Summit House by Note Design Studio

post

The Summit House is a new flexible workspace in Holborn, London, designed by Note Design Studio. They have reimagined the entire interior on all four floors, leaving only the original art deco features of the building. They based the concept for the interior design on Swedish Grace, a pre-functionalist style of modernism that spanned the 1920s, to compliment the art deco heritage of the building.

From the cozy meeting rooms, to the impressive shape of the entrance desk and the open plan general area with kitchen, this place is designed to perfection. I like the dark muted color palette that has been used and think I would be so inspired to work here.
