Houz Oslo

post

Norwegian concept store Houz just located to a new store and the results are simply amazing. I love it when stores are designed as if they were a home where you can just walk in, have a look and casually buy the items on display.

Norwegian interior stylist Elisabeth Heier styled the pictures (photography by Ina K. Andersen ) and I’m in love with the mixture of grey, beige and dark woods. The eye catching dining table in front of the tone on tone wall shelving looks so pretty in combination with the Astep pendant. The kitchen is done by Ask og Eng and fits wonderfully in this space as well. I love the combination with the open shelving on the walls.

Daniella Witte for Lindform

post

Swedish stylist and photographed Daniella Witte teamed up with Lindform and designed a collection of ceramic vases called Stem. The new collection looks very natural and delicate and I think it’s perfect for Christmas times to come.ย

Each vase is designed for a different purpose in the house. The large one is designed for placing large branches and the smaller ones are designed to be combined in a table setting for example.

Impressive duplex loft

post

With a space like this with those high ceilings, high curved windows and lofty industrial touches, you can almost not go wrong with the decor. I love the way they have worked with light colors and an art wall that goes very high up to accentuated the bright and tall ceilings in the living room area.

The kitchen, which is in the lower part underneath the duplex bedroom is naturally a little darker, which has been accentuated with a darker grey wall here. I love the way the space underneath the stairs is being used for the bar and is not lost.

The bedroom upstairs is small and decorated very subtile but powerful with these dark blue wall colors. I like that the same color is used on the vintage cabinet as well, such a nice touch.

Dining corner in green

post

Just the one picture of this home in Sweden that I found inspiring. I just love the combination between the green plants and grey green wall color. The vintage wooden dining table matches the white series 7 chairs exceptionally well and I just love the general cozy vibe of this lovey coffee moment.

Cozy home with a vintage touch

post

This all white home doesn’t actually have a whole lot of vintage items, but it is what stood out to me the most when first looking at these pictures. The white cupboards in the living room, the mirror in the bedroom and the vintage bedside table are the things that really jump out of these pictures don’t you think ?

The contrast between the black floors and the white walls can easily become too harsh or overpowering, but with these large beige area rugs layed out on top, this was softened out in a very nice way.

The details and accessories in this home are in warm accents like dusty rose, terracotta and warm woods. This has a warming effect on all the beige and white.

Warm and cozy home with tints of wood

post

The combination of darker and lighter tints of wood is something that really stands out in this home. The dark wooden dining table combined with the art prints in the dining room, the vintage cupboard in the living room or the combination of different vintage chairs around the kitchen table make this home characteristic, warm and unique.

I love the exposed brick wall in the kitchen as well. The warm tints of the brick are enhanced even more by combining it with the pink of the flowerpot pendant and the red wood in one of the vintage chairs.

Cozy home in beige

post

This home has a very simple decor, yet has so much style and character. The furniture pieces are rather basic (nothing wrong with that at all) but are combined with a few key pieces like the vintage leather armchair, the impressive olive tree, and the many art prints to make this look cozy and eye-catching.ย ย

The little desk in the living room looks very stylish and perfect to get some work done on your laptop. I like that the tv is placed on the wall and has a light bench underneath it rather than a whole media console. This would take up just too much space in this small room.

The bedroom is decorated in a very warm palette, with dark beige walls and lighter beige and white from the linen curtains and bedsheets.

Colorful home visualisation

post

This amazing 3D visualisation is done by Yaroslav Priadka and it features a combination of blue and yellow which is not often seen but works wonderfully well in this concept. This small studio apartment has a very practical and space saving layout which works perfectly in this space. I love that the yellow of the kitchen cabinets comes back in the lamp above the table as well, this is a nice touch.

Kitchen with a fresh look

post

I love kitchens that are big enough to fit a dining table. They automatically become the center of a home I feel, a place where people gather. The dining table in this white kitchen looks like a great place to sit together for dinner and it has been made very cozy there in front of the window. It has a rug underneath, which makes it more cozy and inviting. I like the peg rail on the wall next to the door as well, it gives a stylish touch here combined with the minimal table and the vintage cabinet.

Cozy home with beautiful details

post

I always find it inspiring when the character of a home is portrayed by the use of its details and product choices. The big round windows and high ceilings add a lot to this home as well, but I feel like this playful yet sophisticated look can be achieved in a home of any era. This is so nice because let’s face it, we don’t all live in a turn of a century home. I used to, but now I don’t anymore and I miss it less than I thought I would.

The beige living room looks very light and fresh and I love that it has art walls on both sides of the sofa. This room is quite narrow, so the tv has been placed above a small shelf, rather than on top of a console for a very light look. I love that the tv itself has been integrated in the art wall as well.

The bedroom looks even more fresh with the light blue color on the wall and the linen fabrics on the bed and windows really stand out here.
