White kitchen with green accents

post

There is something about this all-white kitchen. Everything is white, including the cabinets, subway tile backsplash, and even the dining table and chairs. The only pop of color is coming from the many plants spread out on these beautiful window sills and the green lamp above the kitchen counter. The plants give a very fresh look to this kitchen that might be boring to some, and calming to others.

Warm home with black accents

post

This Swedish home looks very warm and cozy and has been decorated with tints of beige, brown and black accents pieces for an inviting look. The wall in the living room is kept rough and this contrast so nicely with the clean and white painted floors I think. The colors in the gallery wall in the living room match this color palette perfectly and the beige and grey items on the sofa combined with the leather armchair fits very nicely here.

The all black kitchen has the same untreated wall surface and since this room seems to have little to no natural light, they have come up with a solution of adding a mirror above the kitchen countertop. I love that this mirror is a vintage window and it will reflect the natural light, which is a great solution for a darker room.

Cozy kitchen dining corner

post

This dining corner in this Swedish kitchen looks so cozy and inviting. I love the elements like the vintage bench and the gallery wall combined with the simple round white table.

The little vase collection on the window sill looks very cute as well and the area rug underneath the table makes this corner even more cozy.

Apartment O by Joanna Lavén

post

This beautiful home was just featured on the Residence Magazine blog and I’m just so amazed by it. It is called Apartment O and designed by talented interior designer Joanna Lavén. The beautiful turn of the century details in this home are enhanced by custom carpentry in the kitchen and bedroom and all walls are painted in some shade of grey.

Walnut wood comes back in the furniture throughout this home and every room looks very coherent and has a similar color palette. The statement green sofa in the living room looks very impressive and gets all the attention. It’s such a nice touch.

This home has a soft luxurious look and feel to it that looks so effortless but has been designed impeccably.

Mineral walls and pops of color

post
black kitchen cabinets with white marble countertops, gold hardware, beige limewash walls

There are so many interesting elements in this wonderful Swedish home don’t you think? It’s such an inspiring interior. The walls in the entire home have been painted with lime paint, which gives a subtle texture to the walls. The living room has some red and rust color pops, which matches the beige lime paint on the walls so perfectly and I love the open plan of the living and dining room.

The black kitchen with white marble countertops has quite an unusual layout with the angled kitchen island, but this works great here. It allows ample space for this beautiful round dining table and I love that the upper cabinets of the kitchen are made out of glass for a lighter look.

The bedroom looks very calming and I think the bed with the canopy curtains looks absolutely amazing here.

Minimal home with brown tints

post

The brown tints in this beautiful and spacious apartment work very well and set a very warm and inviting tone to the interior. I like the way the living room flows into the open plan kitchen, creating a divider with the small kitchen island.

The dining room has been kept very simple, with a great art wall decorating those white walls. In the bedroom the beige bedding really stands out, which adds a soft yet warm accent to this room.

Bedroom in blue

post

Where to start ? There are just so many things I like about this stylish bedroom with muted blue walls. I think it’s such a great decision to have the wardrobe and the peg rail in exactly the same color as the walls. This makes them blend in. The window frames on the other hand, are kept in white, which makes them stand out and this gives the impression of even more light coming through.

The large area rug by the bed is a nice cozy touch and great to place your feet on on a cold winter morning.

Characterful home in black and white

post

Some might say this way of decorating your home is almost too safe, but I love the way the black and white is combined with neutral tints for a warm and contrasting look. I like to introduce some muted colors in my own home, but do love a good neutral and basic color palette. It’s just gives you so much possibilities to style and rearrange things as everything always matches together perfectly.

Stylish small studio space

post
A small light grey kitchen built into a niche

Living in a small studio home doesn’t mean you have to make any sacrifices to style, on the contrary! If you are in the process of designing a studio apartment, make sure to check out this blog post, where I compiled a list of the most inspiring studio apartment ideas.

This studio apartment combines a living area with a tiny kitchen that has been built into a niche behind the bathroom. The grey kitchen cabinets are painted in the exact same color code as the walls, which makes it so nicely integrated.

I love the subtle white sofa, the beige bedding, and the small round dining table in the kitchen area. The bed becomes part of the living room and can be a sofa for guests during the day and still it has its own area. The mustard color elements combined with the patterns on textiles and prints make for a lovely characterful mix.

Bedroom in blue and brown

post

Blue and brown is not a color combination that you see so often, but I’m really liking it in this Swedish home. The brown tones in the bedding warm up the cool tones of the light blue walls and bring some depth to the otherwise light color palette here.
