Beige living room of Susanna Swegen

post

I would personally add a little bit more contrasting pieces here, but I do like the general look of this tone on tone beige living room of Susanna Swegen which was styled and photographed for the Ikea blog. The beige looks light and airy, yet has a bit more dimension than an all white home would have. I especially like the home office setup with the built in shelving above the desks. This looks very useful and space saving for a small home.

Warm minimalist living room

post

These high ceilings and dark wood window frames form the perfect backdrop for this minimal and sculptural living room / kitchen. I like the amount of empty space in between the beautiful furniture pieces, which makes this room look bigger than it is. The wood detail on the windows is enhanced by a beige sofa and walnut dining chairs and the big area rug makes the sofa area look very cozy and inviting.

I like the round dining table in between the kitchen and the sofa area, it divides the space without blocking the two areas from each other and I’m a big fan in general of round dining tables as you will always face each other when having dinner.

Kitchen with a built in bench

post
A dining table and dining bench in a kitchen breakfast nook by the window

I love it when kitchens are designed so thoughtfully and the layout comes together. The breakfast nook in front of the window there is the most logical space for the dining table and rather than trying to fit four chairs in a narrow space, the owners of this home just extended the kitchen and made a lower module into a seating bench.

Quirky home with a pink ceiling

post

I love to see interiors where bold choices are made and they fit in so wonderfully well. I can’t describe the courage you must have to paint your ceiling pink, but somehow this looks so interesting and stylish in this place.

I love the built-in solutions spread throughout this home as well, including the kitchen cabinets, a custom mudroom bench in the entryway, and the bed with built-in storage. These custom solutions work great for saving space in a small home and are an investment that really pays off if you ask me.

Apart from the pink ceiling, the rest of the home was kept in neutral colors, which balances things out. The only pop of color is the blue Panthella Mini* in the kitchen, which stands out so much amidst all of the wood.

Therese Sennerholt’s home

post

This is the beautiful home of art director and creative consultant Therese Sennerholt. I love here work and maybe love her home even more. I love getting inspired by the homes of creative people as I think they are so expressive of who they are and what they value in their work.

Therese’s home is styled wonderfully well and every little corner in these pictures is more interesting than the other. My favorite must be the statement round dining table in front of the windows. It looks both sculptural yet inviting.

Her home features a perfect combination of materials in muted colors, which looks calming, cozy and inviting at the same time.

Bedroom in deep blue

post

How amazing is this deep blue color on the walls in this bedroom ? I love how dark it is, which is only possible because of the abundance of natural light that is coming through those large windows. The light blue bedside tables match this look perfectly and the white bedsheets, green plants and light wooden desk really stand out in this color palette.

Cozy white home

post

This all white home looks so fresh and light, don’t you think ? I see so many inspiring interiors passing by with painted walls and I do love it when the right color is selected for an interior, but white can work so nicely as well.

All the white is accentuated with black and warm accent pieces like the vintage leather armchair in the living room or the warm terracotta textiles in the bedroom.

The grey kitchen is designed in a very open way, with a lot of space for the oval dining table. I love that there is a small daybed in the kitchen as well and the peg rail above the sink fits very nicely there.

Home in grey and wood tints

post

What an amazing home is this please ? Next to the turn of the century details on the ceilings, doors and windows you have some amazing design classics here as well, but what stands out to me the most is the wonderful mixture of this cool grey wall color (which almost looks like blue in some of the pictures) combined with the warm wood elements throughout the space.

The living room looks very classy with those Carl Hansen – CH25 armchairs matched with the wool grey sofa and the statement Pholc chandelier. The grey and wood palette comes back in the kitchen as well and in the bedroom the same color palette is continued once more. I’m really fond of this warm and cool mixture. I think it works really well and gives this home a fresh yet cozy look.
