9 concrete countertop ideas for a subtle industrial look in your kitchen design

post

There is an abundance of countertop materials to choose from when building or remodeling your kitchen. However, most people only consider things like stone or laminate. Because of this, there’s a range of more unique and less-known materials out there that you can use to create the custom countertops you dream of. One of those lesser known material options is concrete.

Concrete countertops have grown in popularity in recent years, though they are still much less common than other options. Some homeowners prefer to contact professionals to design custom concrete countertops, while others undertake the task of making their own DIY concrete countertops with a bit of store-bought concrete mix.

Though there are pros and cons to each method, one thing is for certain: a list of concrete countertop ideas is the best place to start.

A Clean and Sleek White Kitchen With Light-Toned Concrete Countertops

Light gray concrete countertops perfectly complement a stark white kitchen, allowing you to mix and match various materials, colors, and finishes for the hardware and appliances. The natural gray color pairs wonderfully with a wide range of shades, which is ideal if you like to change up the look of your home’s interior frequently.

In this example kitchen, brassy-gold fixtures and wood accents are paired with white cabinets, walls, and subway tiles for a classic blend of contemporary and traditional design aesthetics. The concrete countertop is custom-fit for the space and covered in a thin layer of clear epoxy to protect and preserve the surface.

Dark Natural Wood Cabinets and Shelves Paired With Concrete Counters Featuring Subtle Abstract Patterning

Kitchen countertops with a bit of natural ornamentation in the finish are a timeless choice for any kitchen. Some uneven patterning can bring a level of depth to the space and serve as a great source of visual interest. Skilled craftsmen can even create a concrete countertop design that mimics the appearance of marble, granite, or other types of stone at a fraction of the price.

This kitchen pairs decorative concrete countertops with dark wood cabinets and deep copper hardware for a stunning, yet simple, appearance. The basin of the sink has also been poured from the same concrete for a seamless look. By using white walls as a backdrop and open shelves instead of large cabinets, the top and bottom halves of the room appear slightly off-balance while also maintaining harmony.

A Smooth, Modern Kitchen With a Thin Concrete Countertop and Square Subway Tiles

One way to blend industrial style with contemporary design is to place concrete countertops alongside a classic subway tile backsplash and modern cabinetry. Using a narrow layer of concrete instead of a bold slab can change up the entire feel of the room, as can the type of concrete products and sealer used. Though some may worry about the durability of a thinner layer of concrete, this is typically not an issue with the right installation and care.

Here, the concrete countertop is discrete, acting as a supporting element and allowing the focal point to fall onto the cooking area. Additionally, the counter has a slight shine but is not gleaming, which creates a more natural, lived-in feel.

Dark Colored Concrete Countertops in an Open-Plan Kitchen for a Slightly Luxurious Touch

Darker concrete countertops can add character to a kitchen unlike anything else. This is perfect for open-plan, multi-use spaces that could use a bit of visual separation without impeding the usability of the room. Similar to some of the previous concrete countertop ideas we’ve looked at, you can also customize your own concrete countertops by blending two different colors or choosing a unique finish.

This kitchen uses two pieces of solid concrete for a counter surface and a matching backsplash. The finish on these slabs mimics brushed stainless steel and this combined with the brassy-gold faucet results in a stunning and luxurious kitchen area.

Concrete Countertops Paired With Bare Wood Cabinetry for a Look That’s Natural, Rustic, and Raw

To fully embrace the handmade appearance of DIY concrete countertops, try pairing them with cabinetry made of unfinished plywood or other raw materials. Simple sanded wood is the ultimate answer for anyone looking for a rustic, homestead style and can be stained or left completely natural to suit your tastes.

This kitchen is the perfect example of how one can combine multiple DIY projects in a single room in a way that appears purposeful and cohesive. Concrete countertops are found around the entire space with light wood cabinetry and bold black pendant lights complementing one another. The concrete bar features a small section of suspended concrete, something that’s sure to impress guests.

Dark Cabinets and Brown Concrete Countertops With Stainless Steel Appliances for a Bold Appearance

Light-colored and white concrete countertops are typically the go-to choice for most homeowners. However, as we’ve seen previously, custom concrete countertops are available in a wide range of colors, meaning that you can achieve nearly any color palette you want. Because of this, concrete countertops are one of the most versatile countertop materials on the market with nearly unparalleled durability.

These concrete countertops and matching kitchen island showcase color and finish similar to that of popular butcher block surfaces. Dark-toned cabinets, white walls, and stainless steel appliances all play off of each other and each complement the countertops in a unique way. This bold and dramatic kitchen is balanced well and is sure to stand the test of time.

A Bright White Kitchen With Black Accents and Subtle Concrete Countertops

If you’re beginning to be drawn more and more to concrete countertops but aren’t quite sold on the appearance, choosing a much more subtle design may be the option for you. When done correctly, you can pair concrete countertops with a variety of other kitchen elements to make them appear more discrete and less obviously like concrete.

This example kitchen does this very well. The bright white shiplap walls, light wood touches, black accents, and stainless steel appliances come together in such a way that you must look twice to notice exactly what the countertops are made of. White walls, cabinetry, ceiling, and pale wood flooring reflect light and make the space cheerful while letting the black pop.

All-Over Concrete That Mimics Natural Stone for a Minimalist, Ultra-Modern Kitchen

Finally, if you absolutely love the look and feel of concrete countertops and want to truly go all out, you may want to embrace an industrial-style, full concrete kitchen. Since concrete can be set in nearly any shape, you can create a completely custom kitchen island with a large basin sink as shown below, or even built-in cooktops.

This house showcases the versatility of smooth, professional concrete. Textured walls and upper cabinets create a seamless transition to concrete countertops and flooring. The brassy hardware on the drawers and faucet complement the material in a way much different than silver hardware would. Overall, the resulting design is a blend of industrial and ultramodern styling perfect for those on the cutting edge of trends.

12 modern kitchen countertop ideas with a timeless appeal

post

There’s no shortage of kitchen countertop ideas available on the internet and home improvement magazines. In fact, there are so many different kitchen countertop ideas — each with its own list of pros and cons no less — that a simple kitchen remodel with new countertops can quickly seem unachievable without the help of an on-site interior designer.

But choosing countertop options doesn’t have to be a hassle. Below, you can find a comprehensive list of all the kitchen countertop ideas you need to know about. This will help you easily understand the differences between each of them, and find the perfect countertop materials for your home.

Add a Rustic Touch to Your Kitchen With Butcher Block Countertops

Butcher block countertops, one of the most trendy kitchen countertop ideas, have been around for ages. Often one of the more affordable options when compared to other materials, these natural wood countertops are a stunning addition to any kitchen.

That being said, they do require a bit of maintenance, including monthly mineral oil treatments to keep them looking their best. Some butcher block varieties are used to create live edge countertops for added charm.

The butcher block countertops below blend incredibly well with the other wood elements in the space. All the wood combined with the simple cabinets and farmhouse sink create a rustic kitchen design that stands the test of time. The matching wooden beams and kitchen island help to create a cohesive look that can’t be outdone by other countertop materials.

Use Uncommon Materials Such as Bamboo to Create One-of-a-Kind Kitchen Countertops

A more unique take on wooden countertops, bamboo is a much less common countertop material than most other woods used in homes. Bamboo kitchen countertops are growing increasingly popular, however, due in part to the environmentally friendly nature of bamboo itself. Additionally, bamboo countertops are typically much cheaper and easier to maintain than other types of material.

This example of bamboo kitchen countertops uses a lighter, natural variety of bamboo, allowing the countertop to stand out from the cabinetry ever so slightly. Darker colors are available through the use of a resin coating, though the natural appearance is usually preferred.

Embrace a Sleek, Industrial Kitchen Aesthetic With Stainless Steel Countertops

Stainless steel countertops are the only countertop material that is 100% stain-proof. They are also known to be incredibly long-lasting, ideal for someone that spends a lot of time in the kitchen. Though they are most often seen in commercial kitchens and outdoor areas, the lack of stains, durable nature, and easy maintenance of stainless steel countertops have them appearing in personal kitchens all over the world.

The kitchen below has a distinctly industrial feel, with dark colors, sleek styling, and minimal hardware. The countertop, kitchen island, and backsplash are all the same material, providing excellent cohesion and amplifying light to brighten the space when needed.

Use Copper Countertops to Create Depth and Personality in the Space

Among the more uncommon kitchen countertop ideas is the use of copper countertops in the home. Copper as a kitchen countertop material brings an abundance of personality to any space, particularly those dominated by dark tones.

Depending on the exact type of copper used, your countertop could be an inhospitable environment for a range of bacteria and viruses. Just keep in mind that copper is known as a “living surface”, meaning that its appearance will gradually shift and evolve.

This kitchen pairs copper countertops with a dark palette and subtle copper accents. The intense, mysterious air of this kitchen is also very classic, calling upon some mild 1800s aesthetics.

Install Heat-Resistant Concrete Countertops for Ultimate Durability

Concrete is known to be a very durable material, and concrete countertops are no different. Concrete allows for highly customizable countertops, with polished finishes, unique edge profiles, integrated sinks, and personalized colors and inserts.

Concrete countertops can even be customized to resemble granite, marble, or even wood. However, the more effort that goes into designing the countertop, the more you’re likely to pay. Additionally, concrete is vulnerable to staining without proper maintenance.

The concrete countertop below is a simple polished grey design with squared edges. This style pairs well with the white kitchen and brown accents.

Tile Countertops and a Matching Backsplash for a Seamless Appearance

Tile countertops are one of the most scratch-resistant kitchen countertop ideas. Additionally, ceramic tiles are historically on the more affordable end of the material spectrum and come in a massive range of shapes and colors.

With the proper installation, grout, and maintenance, these kitchen countertops will easily last decades. Tile can be installed on top of most existing countertops, though that is not recommended for peak durability and appearance.

In this example, the kitchen counter, range hood, and backsplash use the same tile, creating a seamless transition between each element. For an added splash of personality, patterned and/or colored tile can be peppered throughout.

Choose Laminate Countertops for Both Style and a More Affordable Price

If you’re looking for something low maintenance and affordable, laminate countertops may be the solution. Laminate is perfect for recreating the look of more pricy materials such as quartz, stone, marble, or soapstone countertops.

The technology used to create laminate countertops has come a long way since the material was introduced in the 1950s and 1960s, easing installation and providing more style options. However, they are still not as durable as other materials.

This grey and white kitchen is a light, airy space with small appliances and a white laminate countertop. Although the design is simplistic, it’s a classic kitchen that won’t need to be updated for years and years to come.

Achieve a Luxurious Look and a Durable Design With Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are the most stain-resistant material after stainless steel. Quartz comes in a variety of colors, can have veining that mimics marble, and can even contain mirror chips that create a sparkle effect under the right lighting.

Quartz countertops are not made from an originally solid surface like other countertop ideas. Instead, they are engineered from ground-up particles of quartz bound together with resins. Because of this, the material is nonporous, greatly increasing its durability and stain resistance.

The quartz countertop below is a darker variety that has an appearance similar to that of natural stone. The quartz itself has hues that blend well with the two-tone cabinets, serving as the perfect stepping point between these contrasting colors.

White Marble Countertops and a Matching Backsplash With Intricate Veining for a Bold Statement

Marble countertops are often viewed as the height of luxury and typically boast a price tag to match. It’s a truly stunning material that has withstood countless trend shifts, maintaining its popularity over the decades.

No two pieces of marble are the same, and nothing can rival the appearance of marble countertops in a kitchen. However, buyers should be aware of marble’s porous nature, which makes it susceptible to staining and etching.

This marble countertop perfectly showcases the uniqueness of the material, particularly when placed against solid, neutral-colored upper and lower cabinets. The built-in sink and cooktop are excellent examples of the level of customization that can be done with marble by a trained professional.

Choose Granite Countertops for a Durable, Classic Kitchen Design

Granite countertops are another countertop option that is considered luxurious and with its hefty price tag attached. Granite countertops are made from natural stones that have been cut into a slab and then cut to fit your kitchen specifically.

Granite is also more heat-resistant than nearly all other types of kitchen counter material. That being said, if the stone does become damaged in some way, repair options are incredibly limited. Additionally, like other types of stone, granite must have regular maintenance to maintain its appearance.

This example matches the color of the cabinets to the stone grey tone of the granite and continues that pairing onto the island.

Limestone Countertops for a Touch of Natural Stone in the Kitchen

Another type of stone countertop, limestone, is available in a range of colors and textures. Like with many of the other kitchen countertop ideas, the material can be damaged over time. However, limestone is often less expensive than marble, soapstone, or granite.

On the other hand, though limestone can be polished to an extremely smooth texture, it will not shine like those other countertops will.

This example kitchen features both a waterfall edge and open shelving in addition to an island. The coloring of the limestone pairs well with the wall and cabinet shades.

Terrazzo as Your Kitchen Counter Material for Playful, Colorful Countertops

Finally, in our list of kitchen countertop ideas, we have terrazzo countertops. Terrazzo countertops are a type of multi-material countertops where stone and glass fragments or marble chips are combined to create a solid surface. This type of kitchen countertop is also incredibly versatile.

The kitchen countertop pictured here is bursting with personality and consists of colors found throughout the rest of the space.

9 limestone countertop ideas for a natural look in your kitchen

post

Limestone is a durable, natural, heat-resistant material that brings a warm, inviting look to any space. When chosen for solid surface kitchen countertops, this natural stone lends a fresh, earthy component to your kitchen. Unlike other natural stones, limestone countertops do require a bit more maintenance. Make sure you wipe spills immediately to prevent stains to keep your gorgeous counters looking fresh and properly cared for.

The unique fossilization patterns of limestone make it particularly interesting when installed in a bathroom or kitchen. If you’re looking for some new interior design styles that will bring timeless charm to your cooking space, here are the most inspiring ideas for limestone countertops that will instantly add a gorgeous, earthy look to your kitchen.

Create a Sleek Two-Toned Look

In this kitchen, the limestone countertops match the soft brown color of the flooring and cabinets. However, two different shades of blue paint on the walls bring the room a bold pop of color. Using the same color for the limestone as the bottom half of the room and a different hue for the walls gives this kitchen a warm touch with a fun, playful vibe.

Incorporate Earthy Color Variations

The beautiful limestone counters in this kitchen have a natural, sandy color that plays beautifully off of the sage green cabinets. Putty-colored upper cabinetry brings the earthy tones together nicely.

The choice of a wood dining table helps to give this kitchen a more natural look, while the black hood fan and white glass pendant light bring it an element of modern style.

This homeowner installed limestone countertops and carried the same material across the length of the wall to create a matching backsplash. The smooth granular surface of a limestone slab makes cleanup a breeze.

With proper care and regular maintenance, a limestone backsplash is easy to keep clean. The dark brown stain on the upper and lower cabinets round out this kitchen’s soft neutral colors, and a matching cutting board leans against the wall to tie it all together.

Install Limestone Floors for a Matching Aesthetic

Not only does this kitchen feature light beige limestone countertops and a matching limestone backsplash, but the floor also matches. These natural stones come from sedimentary rocks that have been pressurized, making them highly durable and porous, which makes the material a great option for kitchen flooring.

Installing limestone floors gives any kitchen a beautiful, cohesive look and a nice flow for added warmth and a luxurious feel.

Polished Limestone Lends a Sleek Modern Look

With proper sealing and polishing, limestone countertops can easily resemble other materials like soapstone, granite, or quartzite. This kitchen’s gray countertop color looks beautiful in contrast with the white farmhouse sink and rustic-inspired shiplap walls.

Brushed brass hardware, dark blue cabinet doors to one side, and an impressive hood fan above the stove round out this kitchen to give it lots of warmth and a welcoming vibe with just the right amount of modernity.

Mix and Match Materials and Finishes

This kitchen exudes an eclectic vibe thanks to a fun mixture of materials and finishes. While the sandy-colored limestone counters are lovely, it also has other elements that give it a fun, fresh look. The black and white kitchen floors add a retro element while cladding on the walls and ceiling brings the kitchen a bit more texture.

Brushed gold hardware on the cabinets, light fixtures, sink, and appliances take this design to the next level. A window near the sink helps to bring in natural light which gives the space a light, cheerful touch.

Use Limestone for a Waterfall Countertop

These countertops resemble travertine thanks to the unique patterns in the stone. The limestone runs across the back wall to create a coordinating backsplash that ties it all together.

However, what really brings the wow factor to this kitchen is the designer’s choice to install limestone on the island in a sleek waterfall design that runs down the sides for a stunning, luxe finishing touch. A waterfall island can give your kitchen the perfect amount of elegance.

Try Limestone Counters in a Rustic Kitchen

If you love the raw and rustic look, this kitchen is a prime example of the aesthetic. The unfinished wood cabinets and floors bring this space a simple, unstuffy style.

Installing limestone countertops somehow brings this kitchen a slightly elevated element that gives it just the right amount of modernity. The updated appliances and sleek metallic silver sink faucet also help to bring this kitchen into the new millennium.

Look for New Limestone Styles

Not all limestone countertops have to feature the same brown color. In fact, many of the more modern options feature a range of contemporary hues, like the dark and light gray marbled pattern of these counters.

White walls and gorgeous grayish-blue bottom cabinets bring this kitchen a simple yet chic modern vibe along with the simple silver hardware. A pair of cutting boards resting against the matching limestone backsplash helps to add a sense of warmth to the space.

16 Marble countertop ideas to give your kitchen a luxurious appearance

post

Marble countertops have been growing increasingly popular for more than a decade. From polished to honed marble, these natural stones are the perfect material for all kinds of countertops, providing an air of luxury and sophistication to any room.

However, it’s important to remember that this is a porous material made of calcium carbonate, meaning that a splash of lemon juice, a stain from red wine, or even hot pots, can etch marble and mar its natural beauty. Be sure to use cutting boards to avoid scratching and clean any messes quickly to prevent stains.

If you’re looking for your next marble countertop idea, continue reading below for 16 of the most inspiring marble kitchen ideas to help you unlock your inner interior designer.

Stunning Black and White Marble Kitchen Countertops With Beige Cabinets

The unique veining of this marble surface draws the eye and serves as the sole source of visual texture here. By pairing this stunning veined design with smooth beige cabinetry, the marble is allowed to be the center of attention. 15 Granite Countertop Ideas for a Modern Kitchen Design

post

Granite kitchen countertop ideas come in many different forms. The natural beauty, exceptional durability, and heat-resistant properties along with the wide array of granite colors and custom finishes available make this one of the most popular countertop materials used in modern kitchen designs.

From butterfly beige granite countertops to emerald pearl, current countertop trends make granite countertops the star of the show.

In the list below, you’ll find the most inspiring granite kitchen countertop ideas out there so that you can find the inspiration you need to create your dream kitchen.

Create a Modern Light Grey and White Kitchen Space

These grey granite kitchen countertops are the perfect complement to grey cabinets, white walls, and light wood floors. The pattern in the granite creates the illusion of a textured surface, which ties in with the texture of the white tile accent wall.

Both of these elements contrast against the smoothness of the cabinetry in a way that is visually pleasing.

Combine Off-White and Medium-Dark Brown Wood

The muted whites in this kitchen design serve as a truly neutral backdrop for the warmth of the wood dining table, creating visual interest that pulls you into the center of the room.

The blend of black, grey, and white in the granite countertop brings everything in the backdrop together to create a complete look. The textural effect of the countertop transforms the minimal white cabinet fronts in this kitchen design.

Choose a Bold Black Granite and Soft Neutral Tones

For a unique, bold take on kitchen decor, try black granite countertops paired with cabinets that have a highly durable matte finish in black as well.

The granite countertop partially blends into the cabinets themselves, while the black sink, fixtures, and accessories help to maintain the intensity. Pair this with other materials, such as light-toned wood, for the most extreme contrast.

Pair White Granite Countertops With Dark Grey

Blending light and dark hues is a common and popular theme in interior design, and it’s easy to see why. This is a simple look that works extremely well, with the white granite countertop with a shorter backsplash adding just the right amount of lightness to the dark grey kitchen cabinets.

Match Grey Granite and Natural Stone With Dark Brown Wood

Natural stone floors are a popular choice for high-traffic areas, such as busy kitchens. You can highlight the classic shade and pattern of natural stones by adding a granite countertop in the same shade.

The neutral grey tone of the limestone flooring in this kitchen pairs nicely with the dark wood kitchen cabinets and the subtle green tone on the granite countertop.

Design a Classic White Kitchen With Grey Countertops

Granite kitchen countertop ideas don’t have to be bold or reinvent the wheel. Simple white cabinets and grey granite countertops are a classic design choice for a reason. This staple in kitchen design combines current countertop trends with timeless elements to create a kitchen that won’t soon go out of style.

The white kitchen cabinets blend in with the wall color of the kitchen space, which makes the grey granite countertop stand out beautifully. The chrome hardware adds a modern metallic aesthetic to finish things off.

Use Dark Hues in the Walls and Cabinets With a Lighter Countertop

For a look that pulls inspiration from natural sources, pair dark-toned walls and cabinets with a granite countertop in a lighter shade. Touches of greenery and natural wood kitchen cabinets provide a slightly rustic feel to complete the style.

Note that the countertop meets the kitchen window, for an integrated effect in the space.

Pair Bright White With True Dark Grey

Granite countertops that match the coloring of the wall and floor are an excellent choice when you have cabinets in a high-contrast color.

The design here wouldn’t quite work with a brown marble or beige countertop. Additionally, most countertops stop at the top edge of the cabinetry. The granite countertops here, however, continue down the side of the cabinetry to the floor for a modern touch.

Combine Natural Wood and Black Marble With Light Toned Granite

Similar to the stone floors we explored previously, limestone flooring is a popular choice for a kitchen space. The granite countertops in this example, are picked out a few shades lighter than the flooring, softening the contrast with the white kitchen walls.

The natural grain in the wood kitchen pairs nicely with the texture of the granite countertops on both the island and the kitchen element against the wall.

Create an Accent Wall With Your Countertop Material

Granite countertops are often chosen for their stunning appearance, so why not use them as an accent elsewhere? This is one of the granite kitchen countertop ideas on the list, as the granite backsplash provides an extra pop to the kitchen.

The minimalist cabinet styles and unique open shelving allow the countertops to be the star of the show. The light grey kitchen wall color provides the space with a soft look. This wall color complements both the wood cabinets and the granite material in a lovely way.

Design a Monochromatic Space With Grey Cabinetry and Black Granite Countertops

If monochromatic spaces are more appealing to you, embrace a completely grey style with black accents. The trendy vertical shiplap backsplash provides just the right amount of texture and the industrial design of the fixtures pairs well with the dark granite countertops.

For a subtle pop, use blue pearl granite countertops instead of solid black. This granite pattern brings vibrant, yet understated color that’s sure to wow everyone.

Embrace Bold, Dramatic Dark Hues and a Matching Countertop

Similar to the previous idea, this design focuses on a single-color family. However, this design is much more intense and mysterious, perfect for anyone wanting a truly one-of-a-kind style.

Another unique touch would be to use emerald pearl granite which has an iridescent quality for a fun pop in the countertops, especially when placed alongside the matte black sink. This in combination with the impressive tile backsplash would make for a powerful wow factor in the space.

Combine Off-White, Natural Wood, and Marbled Granite

Granite countertops with striking veins that are near marble-like are a unique way to add character to any kitchen. You can intensify the effect with a tall backsplash and smooth, plain furnishings.

A brown granite may work well with this specific color palette, though the black granite countertops are particularly striking in combination with the black sink. This mix of colors, textures, and patterns creates a high-end feel that won’t soon go out of style.

17 inspiring kitchens with butcher block countertops

post

Butcher block countertops have been around for ages and they are still far from being out of style or old fashioned. They can be combined with about any kitchen cabinet color and depending on how you integrate them into your kitchen remodel, they can fit perfectly within a modern kitchen design.

You can make butcher block countertops affordable by selecting a laminate or bamboo material, however, depending on the wood species you select for your kitchen design, wood countertops tend to cost much less per square foot/meter than some of the other often-used countertop materials like marble, granite, quartz, or stainless steel.

Butcher block countertops are sustainable, durable, and can be paired with a variety of different cabinet styles and colors, however, they do require maintenance. Wood countertops need to be sealed with mineral oil monthly to protect them against stains or small scratches.

Below, you can find a list of my favorite kitchen designs finished with a wood countertop ranging from farmhouse style, shaker style, or more modern versions.

A Swedish farmhouse kitchen with butcher block countertops

To resemble the original wood beams in the ceiling, this beautiful shaker kitchen in farmhouse style with light grey cabinets is finished with butcher block countertops, paired with a natural wood peg rail, a classic style wood kitchen island and a variety of different antique farmhouse style finds in wood.

The brass hardware and the stainless steel appliances in this kitchen add a modern touch, which pairs nicely with the traditional elements in the kitchen cabinets and the white porcelain sink.

14 Inspiring kitchens with a terrazzo countertop for a playful effect

post

A terrazzo countertop can have an impressive, playful, and unique effect on a kitchen design. It’s a very versatile material made out of stone and glass fragments or marble chips, which allows you to put a warm pot on the countertop without a heat pad (check the guidelines of the manufacturer on this to make sure).

if you prefer minimalist neutral shades, you can go for pretty neutral terrazzo countertops or light grey countertops, however, you can pick out a bold or bright terrazzo countertop for a more modern terrazzo look that is very trendy at the moment. There are so many terrazzo variations to pick from, so you can make sure to match it with the color palette of your kitchen materials. For installing terrazzo, you should hire professional installers to make sure there is no cracking.

A modern terrazzo can have a playful effect and can result in a lovely and bold space. Terrazzo countertops, unlike marble and granite designs, are an emerging trendy countertop material, which might make them slightly less timeless in design. However, they are very long-lasting, so if you love this material regardless of it being trendy, it’s a great choice as a countertop material that can stand the test of time.

The bright terrazzo countertops and bright terrazzo backsplash turn this minimal kitchen with beige cabinets into a design with a very distinct style.

The terrazzo countertop also comes back in the cover underneath the upper glass cabinets and on the sides of the island with seating, which makes the effect of this beautiful natural texture even more impressive.

The effect of the beige terrazzo is impressive because of the tall backsplash that uses the same material and it stands out against the white walls. Since the color variations on the stone chips are rather modest, this type of terrazzo has a timeless look that won’t go out of style.

White terrazzo countertops on the island and in the kitchen module

The sleek no handles cabinets in this beautiful warm kitchen stand out from the light hardwood flooring and the bright terrazzo countertop.

While dark wood cabinets are used on the main kitchen module, the kitchen island is entirely made out of terrazzo, which makes it a real focal point in the space. The white of the countertop stands out against the off-white paint color on the walls and comes back in the white wall lamp and artwork for a subtle, yet sophisticated effect in the interior.

White terrazzo countertops and light-stained cabinetry

The cool white terrazzo countertops stand out in this small kitchen made out of natural materials. The long blonde wood shelf with cabinet doors paired up with open blonde wood shelves and cabinet doors add a lot of texture to the space, which is brightened up by the terrazzo countertops.

The white walls and matching floor make the light-stained kitchen stand out in a subtle way and I love the way the natural textures in both materials take front and center in this interior.

Large pattern terrazzo countertops in a modern kitchen

The cheerful terrazzo countertops with various stone chips in different sizes add a playful touch to the blue kitchen cabinets in this spacious kitchen. The big sizes of stone chips in this terrazzo are great for such a large space, as the countertops will have more of an impressive effect on the interior.

A more subtle design with smaller stone chips will work better in a smaller kitchen with a subtle look.

Apply the Terrazzo Countertop Trend in a Bold Kitchen

The green terrazzo countertops add a unique and characterful appearance to a kitchen with a bold aesthetic because of the yellow kitchen cabinets. The green comes back in the color of the fridge, while the yellow of the cabinets can be found on the vintage dining table.

White terrazzo countertops and white subway tiles in a hunter-green kitchen

The beautiful hunter-green kitchen island and cabinets in this cozy kitchen are paired up with an impressive white subway tile backsplash and white terrazzo countertops on both the island and sink module.

The white tones in the kitchen countertops are slightly warmer than the crisp white of the tiles, which makes the kitchen look interesting and sophisticated.

Terrazzo countertops add a playful touch to a bright yellow kitchen

This bright yellow kitchen with a yellow faucet, yellow wall lights, and a yellow open shelf that goes wall-to-wall looks very playful and daring. The addition of the terrazzo countertop paired with all the yellow makes the design even more playful and I think it’s impossible to enter this kitchen without being cheery.

Add texture to your basic kitchen with large-grain terrazzo countertops

This simple, white kitchen with gold hardware is quite simple and regular if it wasn’t for the large grain terrazzo countertop finishing it off. The color of the countertop is modest, however, because of the visible stones in the surface, it gets an impressive effect.
