Cozy shaker kitchen

post

This cozy shaker kitchen in white with grey stone countertops has a very cozy look and feel and it’s all because of the details and accessories. The wooden shelf above the shiplap backsplash holds deco items, but also plates, plants and cutting boards, which makes the look characterful and interesting. The black faucet is matched with the black wall lamps that light up the counter space and even though the kitchen has been placed in a rather awkward layout, I think it ended up working really nicely.

Once you walk through the rather narrow area where the kitchen is placed, you arrive at the light flooded dining area right in front of the window, which seems like such a lovely spot to have dinner. The choice to place a round dining table here was the right one for sure.

The Nordic light kitchen by Nordiska Kök

post

I always like the projects of Swedish kitchen manufacturer Nordiska Kök. They always find the perfect kitchen design that is perfectly related to the building and architecture of the space. For this particular kitchen, they took the bright, nordic light as an inspiration and designed a modern shaker kitchen with a minimal framework and a monotone color scheme. The result is a timeless off-white kitchen that can last for years to come.

The layout of the main part of the kitchen consists of lower cabinets mostly, which are enhanced by a tin wall shelf for carefully selected interior details. On the other side of the kitchen, a glass display cabinet was built, which reminds of the classic serving cabinet, but with a modern touch. I love the way you can see the white pigmented oak through the glass.

The exhaust has been built to fit with the minimal aesthetics of this space and has been painted in the same color as the walls and the cabinets. The Jura limestone countertop finishes off the look of this beautiful kitchen, which is elegant, timeless and sophisticated all at once.

Kitchen and living room combined

post
A grey kitchen with stone countertops, gold cabinets handles and a tile backsplash

This combined living room and kitchen space has a very practical planning and layout, with a simple yet elegant look. I love the little round dining table in front of the window, which contrasts so nicely with the light wood of the flooring and the grey of the kitchen cabinet fronts.

The living area has been placed on the other side of the kitchen island, and the TV has been built into the island itself. When the TV is not in use, it can be lowered into the kitchen module, which is such a nice touch.

Scandinavian Asian fusion kitchen

post

Another beautiful kitchen project done by Nordiska Kök, In a Stockholm apartment this time. They have teamed up with Alexandra Ogonowski to create a kitchen that joins modern Scandinavian and traditional Asian elements in a harmonious balance of colors, shapes and materials.

The kitchen island in warm, stained oak and Jura limestone was inspired by the Japanese teppanyaki grills where chefs entertain guests with their craft and takes a central role in the layout of the space. By lowering one side of the island for the seating, there is no need for bar stools.

The two-tone kitchen materials create a harmonious blend of soft colors, tones and textures for a timeless yet modern kitchen. The material of the countertop and backsplash also comes back in the floating shelf with the stone brackets, for an elegant effect.

A minimal dark wood kitchen

post

Swedish Artilleriet have teamed up with Tre Sekel to design a kitchen, built with the idea of the kitchen being a piece of furniture that is tactile without handles. It’s a very simple design where nothing is hidden and all parts of the construction are visible to its user.

The kitchen is built by local craftsmen in Sweden at Tre Sekel and I love the combination of the dark wood and limestone countertop which matches perfectly with the tiles and wall treatment in this stunning space. As per usual, their photos are styled to perfection as well.
