Benzin vases

post

I don’t usually add a lot of color in my home and like to work with muted tints, grey and beiges because it’s calm and so easy to match everything together. Every once in a while though I try out something more colorful and love when it hits the mark and gives just that little extra to a room or corner.

The benzin vases from Fundamental Berlin do exactly this. They mimic the effect oil has on water with a micro layer of titanium which creates this colorful blue shimmer. You can get a 15% off with the code ‘cocolapine’ in all the items in their webshop* by the way.

New Office accessories

post

I like to keep my desk organised as much as possible and even though I’m pretty messy most of the time, I succeed in keeping this area fairly clean. I love a good office accessory and creating a pretty workspace can work very inspiring. I recently added these brass office accessories from Fundamental Berlin to my office table and love the look (notice that the color palette of the black and brass comes back in the lamp as well).

They have a wide selection of geometrically inspired paperclips, trays, bookmarks and picture frames which make for really nice presents as well. They recently released these Milk Espresso cups, which are so simple yet so powerful in their design and feel so soft to the touch. The black marble Kugel Bowl is another favorite of mine and it has already moved from the bathroom to the desk. This is such a beautifully sculptural piece.

You can get a 15% off with the code ‘cocolapine’ in all the items in their webshop* in case you are interested.

Getting the balcony spring ready with Cane-line

post

Ever since I moved into my new apartment in December I have been looking forward for spring to come. The new place has a much bigger balcony then in my old apartment and has space for both a dining table and a lounge area so I knew I wanted to make something special with my outdoor space as soon as spring started.

I have teamed up with Danish furniture and design brand Cane-line to realise my ideas and plans of the lounge area of my balcony and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Even though my balcony is covered with a roof, Munich weather can be very harsh so I knew I had to look for a very durable outdoor sofa that can survive the colder months as well as be comfy in summer.

The modular Conic system is exactly what I was looking for in an outdoor lounge: it’s stylish, doesn’t look heavy, it’s soft to sit in yet durable and easy to clean and the dark grey color works perfectly with my wooden flooring and the light grey outdoor wall. I combined two right modules for a corner lounge sofa, but you can combine many more elements into a larger section as well or use the modules on their own. The Conic elements are also available in a new light grey color, which looks really nice as well.

I combined the Conic lounge with two On the Move side tables in grey and bordeaux which work perfectly as a pair but can be styled separately as well (you know how I like to change things around). The Bordeaux comes back in the Link pillows on the sofa as well – I absolutely love this warm yet fresh color scheme.

To top things off I added two of the Lighthouse Lanterns and placed simple large white candles inside. These lanterns look great during the day and add so much coziness at night, perfect for an evening drink with friends.

This blogpost was created in collaboration with Cane-line, yet all words and opinions are my own and I only work with brands I truly love. If you are looking to decorate your outdoor space as well, feel free to have a look at their outdoor inspiration webpage here.

Bathroom details

post

I love a good bathroom accessory. It can just turn the bathroom into something special rather than the place where you brush your teeth in the morning if you know what I mean. Ferm Living recently gifted me these two beautiful marble pieces for the bathroom and I like the warm look of the brown combined with the brass of the bathroom fittings.

The Bendum cup* and Bendum tray* are both from Ferm Living, the waffle weave hand towel* is from Arket and the olive soap is from Granit.

Living room update with MYCS

post

You might remember German design brand MYCS from when I showed you their customised black marble side table I had made for our bedroom a year ago. This piece is still one of my favorite pieces and has found a place in my living room in the new apartment as well (you can see it in this Instagram picture).

I was so excited to be giving my living room a spring update with some of their products and love how this new look has turned out. I selected a set of their coffee tables as the center of this look and customised them in different heights and wood tints. I picked out a walnut and oak finish for the tables, which matches very nicely with the natural warm tint of the flooring in my living room.

To match the coffee tables, I selected a series of throw pillows in different colors and materials. I went for a grey and green velvet pillow in different sizes combined with two neutral textiles that are different in texture. I’m in love with all the textures, materials and colors in this setup and think this is such a great way to give your space a little spruce up. Pillows are the easiest way to update a space without breaking the bank and adding just a small pop of color (like the green velvet in this case) can transform the look of a room immediately.

The coffee tables came flat packed, yet were super easy and quick to assemble and I love that they can be moved to other areas as a side table or bedside table. As you might know from previous posts, I like to move things around in my home and keep finding new arrangements so these versatile pieces come in very handy.

This blogpost was created in collaboration with MYCS, however all opinions are my own of course. If you would like to know more about the brand and their designs, go visit their website or have a look at their inspiration section to get ideas on how to customise your own home.

Spring table setting

post

I had some friends over at my place for tapas and wine the other day and decided to decorate the table according to the spring weather. I kept it light and simple, just like the food. Sometimes I like to cook a nice meal when people come over, but having people over for wine is just so much easier, you almost don’t have to spend any time in the kitchen.

I used a beige linen table cloth from H&M Home* and paired it up with their grey linen napkins*. I used some dried grasses and tied a knot around them for a nice deco touch on the plates. I got some inspiration from Pinterest for this table setting and started a Table Setting Pinterest board as well if you want to get inspired as well.

The wine glasses* and accessories (I’m in love with their wine decanter*) are all from Eva Solo. I also combined their Legio Nova* and Nordic kitchen series on this table setting. I love the combination of the black bowls* with the white porcelain and the linen.

Spring organisation in the kitchen

post

Did you get the spring cleaning bug already ? The nicer weather certainly got me organising but since I moved into this apartment pretty recently I don’t really feel the need to deep clean it like I usually do in Spring.

I recently got the RoboVac vacuum cleaner from Eufy, as shown in the picture below and this has been helping me a lot in keeping the house clean throughout the week. In case you are also interested in getting one for your home, they are having a spring cleaning sale until April 7th*.

I have gone through all my clothes as well and am tackling every corner of the house to try and find the best way to organise things. If every object has a spot, it will get less chance to become messy and I know what I have at all times (I hate it when I buy something and realise I already had it at home, which happens sometimes). I will do every corner of my home gradually and started with the kitchen, which now looks pretty organised.

I have this wide built in open shelf on top of my kitchen, which is great for displaying things, but I started to add too much stuff. I emptied it again and only keep a few things there, which makes the look so much nicer.

I also bought some fun cleaning supplies like the HAY smiley face sponge and am keeping a crate* next to the sink to keep cleaning supplies together. Next to the stove, I placed a mixing jug from Arket* which is keeping all my utensils close by and I love those little green Bordallo cabbage bowls* for keeping my soap at the sink and for keeping garlic. I now have two of them but will get some more for my kitchen cabinet as well.

01. Vipp Salt and Pepper
02. HAY marble tray*
03. Skagerak Sild tray*
04. Eva Solo oil carafe*
05. Sprouted mixing jug from Arket*
06. HAY crate*
07. HAY gold and silver sponges*
08. Iris Hantverk vegetable brush*
09. HAY drop sponge
10. Aesop Aromatique hand wash*
11. HAY dish cloth*
12. Bordallo cabbage bowls*

Some of the items in the pictures are kindly gifted and some of the links I used in the post are Affiliate links (marked with*), which means I earn a small commission on items purchased through these links.

Bedside update

post

I love a good side table. They are small, easy to move around and they can create an entire different look when you want a change in your home. Currently I’m using the Lesley side table from Westwing* in marble optics as a bedside and I love the light and minimal look it gives in this room.

I moved into a more beige color palette with the textiles in this room and the white of the table adds a fresh touch to this look. I’m using the Arket Baie Rose candle* every single day now when I’m reading before getting into bed and it adds such a luxurious scent to the room. It’s small things that make for a calming and inviting vibe in a room. I have been getting a lot of questions about that coral that is appearing in so many of my Instagram pictures as well (I love it so much, I’m using it all the time). I bought it on a trip last year, in a very small seaside store, but I have noticed you can find them on Ebay second hand as well, at least in Germany.

Tea and coffee to go

post

I love a good to go cup when I’m on the way to an early meeting in the morning, or when I’m going out for a walk by the Isar river in Munich. Especially now that it’s not that warm yet outside, it’s so much nicer to have a hot drink with you.

I got to try out the new Eva Solo to go cup*, which has a gorgeous matt black finish (like the rest of their nordic kitchen series) and can be used for both coffee and tea. As I drink coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon, this is such a perfect and versatile product for me. The cup comes with a built in tea filter, which you can leave out when you use it for coffee. Now all I have to do is get some more loose tea. I have a good selection of green tea from my trip to Japan, but do you have any recommendations for a good herbal tea ?

Office details

post

I always have so many things laying around on my desk (more then in the pictures, I cleaned up to make these images) and have been using this HAY color crate* to keep my essential things that I always need close by.

These crates come in many different colors and sizes and I have bought three of them so far to keep my home organised. They have a very simple design, yet the color makes them special and they are so cheap as well, a perfect way to organise my things in style.
