I’m still on a rather light color palette in the bedroom, even though the weather is changing. Maybe this is me fighting the days getting shorter, I’m not sure, but I’m just going with it. I placed my Kamut Art print to match this lighter palette as well. Maybe soon I will make everything darker again, who knows.

Just wanted to pop in here quickly and let you know that I teamed up with Finnish design brand Himmee to give away one of their Kaari U candle holders. All you have to do is comment on this Instagram post and let us know which version (ash or black) you would like to win. Winners will be announced on Sunday. Good luck !
A few weeks ago I showed you our bedroom transformation with the Montana Furniture modules for a storage and seating area. Next to that, I also planned out a Montana Furniture modules setup for kitchen storage, which I’m showing you today.
Almost all the current storage in the kitchen is on the lower half of the wall and I like it that way because it has a very light, minimal and spacious look. There is plenty of storage because there are so many closed cabinets including the built in vintage one that came with the apartment. However, I was missing a place where I could store my prettiest kitchen items. This is something so important for someone that likes to collect pretty coffee cups isn’t it ?
The Montana Furniture module system is perfect as a display storage solution. I chose a double module with glass doors so I can keep my pretty cups from getting dusty and combined this with a single open module. The glass doors have such a minimal design and have the small iconic Montana Furniture handles. I love this combination and like that I can keep plants and cookbooks on top of it as well. My plant seems to be getting the perfect amount of light up there.
I mocked up this setting with the Montana Furniture drawing programme and played around with the sizes and options a little until I decided on this exact setup. The color I chose for the modules is 100 graphic, which complements the grey and black color palette in our kitchen perfectly.
This blogpost was created in collaboration with Montana Furniture, however all opinions are my own of course. If you would like to play around yourself with drawing out a creative Montana Furniture modules setup, or would like to have more info on the products, I can recommend trying out the drawing programme or visiting the inspiration section on the Montana Furniture website.
I love the effect a light fixture can have in a room. It can define the mood and atmosphere of a space when on or off and can add character to the interior. I was asked by Finnish design brand be&liv to try out their Peony lamp and I couldn’t be more happy with the contrasting effect it has in our bedroom.
be&liv – founded in Helsinki in 2012 – aim to bring the poetry back to everyday life with their beautifully engineered design products. Every detail is thought-through to offer the highest quality contemporary design.
The Peony lamp came flat packed and all the components are of the best quality Finnish aircraft plywood. It was such a fun project to puzzle the plywood pieces together and to see the lamp come to live ! No tools or special equipment needed. The design comes in a black and white version, which are both equally pretty but I love the contrast that the black plywood adds to our otherwise light bedroom. You can see the grain of the wood through the black color, which is a nice touch as well.
Also, be&liv were so kind to give away one Peony lamp in the color of choice to a lucky winner. All you have to do is place a comment below and let us know where you would like to hang the Peony lamp. Winners will be announced next Sunday in this blogpost.

Update: the giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Ruthie, you are the winner of the Peony lamp and will be informed by email.
I try to keep our home as organised as possible and even though this is sometimes a challenge, I think I usually am able to keep it relatively minimal (not as clean and minimal as I would like though). The bedroom is always a challenge and I keep changing around the way I keep my clothes. After reading the Konmari book, I’m keeping most of the clothes neatly folded into drawers and this seems to work pretty nicely. Needless to say I got very excited to be creating my own Montana Furniture wardrobe setup in our bedroom.
Montana Furniture Wardrobe is a flexible wardrobe concept designed by Peter J. Lassen that allows you to customise the wardrobe according to personal color preference, style and storage needs. I created a setup with mostly drawers, where I can store everything from t-shirts and underwear in the smaller drawers to bedsheets and winter bedding in the bigger ones. I chose two lower modules in between three higher ones to be able to create a little seating area (I got inspired by one of the Montana Furniture showroom setups for this). I’m so in love with the look of this little seating nook, which can also hold any additional throw pillows that are not used while sleeping.
The Montana Furniture wardrobe modules come in 42 different colors and are made to order. I chose white for the bedroom corner for a clean and minimal look. The little knobs are a stylish addition to the modules and are easy to grab. The built quality of the drawers is really nice and I love that they close silently. The modules came delivered assembled and we just had to level and stack them on top of each other, so easy.
I couldn’t be happier with this new corner of our bedroom and this new arrangement motivated me to clean out all the clothes that I wasn’t wearing anymore, an added bonus.

For the longest time I have been searching for a fitting side table for our bedroom, where I could keep some beauty products, jewellery and small accessories. The SYDE table from MYCS matches the minimal style of our bedroom perfectly and fits like a glove in the corner next to our bed.
MYCS offers a wide range of customisable furniture, from tables and chairs to cabinets and even sofa’s. You can design your own piece on their website with their handy configurator and other than the measurements and configuration you can also pick colors and materials. You can choose exactly what you like and what fits into the space you have in mind and the pieces are produced for you in selected workshops. MYCS has showrooms in all major German cities where you can check out their designs and a big inspiration section on their website where you can get ideas on what to create with their online configurator tool.
For our bedroom I configured an all black SYDE table with a black Marquina marble top. The black design contrasts very nicely with the wood and textiles in this corner I think and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The piece came flat packed but was assembled in less then 15 minutes which I think is such a big advantage. I chose a high version of the table so that I can place a chair in front of it as well and use it as a vanity table. Now I just need to find a small mirror to go with it and then I’m all set in this corner.

We have a lot of storage space in our kitchen and between the built in vintage cabinet against the wall that came with the apartment and our low kitchen cupboards we always find space to store away appliances and cooking ware. I love displaying pretty kitchen accessories and think it can make a kitchen personal and unique. There is only so much worktop area you can display plants or accessories on though so I’m very happy that the stylish new Woud Elevate shelf moved into our kitchen.
Elevate is a modular shelving system designed by Camilla Akersveen and Christopher Konings that consists out of shelves and dowels that can be assembled in an unlimited number of configurations matching your needs and taste. I have been a fan of the Woud brand and am very happy with the Töjbox and Verde mirror, which are used daily in our hallway. To establish their modern interpretation of the Scandinavian design heritage, Woud works with both upcoming design talents and established designers.
For our kitchen I picked out a configuration of a high shelving setup combined with a slightly lower part. I like this setup and how the design lowers towards our dining table. The soft oak wood looks great in contrast with our black and grey kitchen and I was so happy that no tools were needed for the assembly. I just had to screw on the dowels, place the shelving in between and that was it !
I’m using the shelving as a display for a selection of kitchen objects that are just too pretty to be hidden away and plants that get the perfect amount of light in this spot. I think it made this kitchen corner come together very nicely.
Other then the high shelving system you can see in our kitchen, this versatile system is suitable for any room or purpose and you can create any setup depending on your preference and the space you have available. You can see all available components and some examples of creative configurations on the Woud website.

I love open shelving in our home and think it’s great to have a selection of items on display there. I love making different setups and am changing the items on there all the time. This is our current #shelfie and I love the combination of the different materials on there.
I’m a big fan of home fragrances. A scent can add so much to an interior and I love that every room has its mood and fitting aroma that goes with it. A fresh scent can brighten up the bathroom, a softer scent is perfect to relax and wind down in the bedroom and every season has its fitting aroma as well.
I love experimenting with aromas and scents in the different rooms in our home, so I got very excited to get the chance to try out the Aromax home diffuser. The diffuser has a minimal look, is very silent and has an adjustable scent output and a timer (which is so useful, as I don’t know how many times I left the house without blowing out a scented candle). The Aromax is very simple to operate, you simply add a little bit of fragrance oil into the glass Nebulizer and set the diffuser to the desired time and scent output.
I have tried the Zuri, Illuminate and Vetiver Rain scents. I have used the Vetiver Rain in our living room, which has earthy notes and warm woods and the fresh Illuminate with citrus hints in our bathroom. Just 15 minutes of diffusing is enough to make the whole room fragrant for many hours. I love that you can actually see the aroma coming out of the Aromax as well.
This post was made in collaboration with Air Aroma. To read more about the Aromax and to have a look at all available scents, have a look at the Air Aroma website.
I love how easy it is to give a room a new look by just updating a few textiles. I gave our living room a small update with pillows and a throw from Himla (gifted) and I love the tints of beige here, perfect for spring.
