Bye June, hello July
This is how my June looked on Instagram. Now it’s July already and I can’t believe we are officially in the second half of 2016 already, time is moving so quickly.

My office is still a work in progress, but apart from some smart storage solutions, it’s really coming together now. I knew since we moved in here that I wanted a seating area where I could read magazines, chill and invite guests over to my office to talk ideas and have coffee. We also had a need for a guest bed in our new home and that’s how the search to the perfect sofa-bed started.
It’s quite difficult to find a sofa bed that looks light and stylish as a sofa or daybed, is comfortable to sleep on and easy to transform. It didn’t take me long before I found out about the Myk daybed from Innovation Living, designed by Per Weiss which fulfils all those criteria and matches our interior perfectly.
I love how light it looks in my workspace and adds the perfect amount of coziness to this room. The triangular pillows can be arranged as a backrest (how you see it in my images), but can also be used on the sides as a daybed. When guests come over, I will simply remove the top mattress and place it next to the other one to make two single beds from it or one double. As soon as I have guests over I will make sure to make some pictures to show you here.

Ingredients LDN is a lifestyle concept store that explores ways of translating philosophical, cultural and scientific conceptualisations of wellbeing into tangible everyday experiences. Their well curated store sells products that are designed with modern citizens in mind and aim to stimulate thought on what infuses everyday life with value and meaning.
I got to try out a few of their products and I like how natural they look and feel. I’m in love with the black wooden cutting board, which contrast so nicely on our white table and matches our kitchen perfectly. Now I’m off to take some time and enjoy a coffee !
Last week I got to try out Bloomon, a home delivery service for flower bouquets, straight from the field to your home. I usually buy flowers of the same kind, but to get such a beautiful assorted bouquet delivered to your door, with a vase that matches perfectly, I have to say I felt pretty special. The flowers are packed with the best tips for taking care of them, which worked out very well, because I have been enjoying them for almost two weeks now !
Thank you all so much for participating in the Muuto Fiber chair giveaway ! Almost 300 people participated and the lucky winner is announced on Instagram.
Danish design brand Muuto is celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year and much has happened since Danes Peter Bonnén and Kristian Byrge sat down to rethink Scandinavian design. MUUTO is the Finnish word for ‘new perspective’ – a view still fundamentally defining the company. I bought my first Muuto product (the Unfold lamp) around 5 years ago. It moved with me to our new home and I’m sure it will still be with me for years to come.
I got to try out this beautiful Fiber armchair with a swivel base, which I paired up with the leaf table lamp in my living room. I have an office room in our apartment where I store all prints and take care of all orders. That room is not really designed yet unfortunately and I was in need of a tidy and quite place where I could draw, make to-do lists or just sit down with my laptop to reply some emails in peace.
The shell of the Fiber chair is made out of 100% sustainable material and is designed by Iskos-Berlin. I love the lightness of the design which became a real eye-catcher in our living room. I’m so happy to let you know that this week you can win a Fiber chair for your own home ! All you have to do is pick your favorite shell color on Muuto’s website, let me know in a comment on this Instagram picture and tag another friend you want to notify about the giveaway.
The winner will be announced on Monday May 9th, good luck !
As promised in Tuesdays blogpost, here are some more pictures of our new kitchen. There are a few details left to be finished, but we can already make dinner and eat it at the kitchen table which I’m enjoying so much.
We chose a basic Ikea kitchen base, which we upgraded with the holy wafer handles in brass from Superfront. I knew for a really long time already that if I would ever build a kitchen I would like to use those handles and I’m really happy with the result. I like how they pop out against the grey and black of the fronts and worktop. I love the possibilities Superfront offers to upgrade Ikea cabinets and kitchens and takes a basic Ikea kitchen to something special and noteworthy.
We live in an old building that was renovated before we moved in and in the kitchen there is still an original built in closet. This gave us a lot of storage space already, which is why we chose to only build lower cabinets on both sides of the room. I like how light this looks, even though there is a big black surface on top of the cabinets. Now I still need to find an exhaust solution and a backdrop and then this project is all done. Any ideas ?
After two months of eating takeout and going to restaurants (that last one wasn’t too bad to be honest), we are finally adding the last touches to our kitchen. I’ll show you pictures of the actual kitchen later this week, but I wanted to show you our dining area already today.
I’m so happy to have our dinner table in the kitchen in our new place. The table and chairs are the ones we had in Berlin as well, but I added the beautiful Vipp wall lamp to the setting which gives it a whole new look. I think the black powder-coated aluminium contrasts so nicely against the white and wood tints of the table, chairs and old flooring and I like how you can point the lamp to wherever you need. The light source itself is LED, which is diffused by a frosted glass for a very soft light. When the light is on the perforations on the outside of the lamp get lit up as well, which is a very nice design detail. You can find more details about the lamp on the Vipp website, and more pictures on my Snapchat: sarahcocolapine
