Fells / Åndes creates quiet luxury textiles and accessories. Their beautiful pieces are inspired by 2 extremes: the cold crisp Scandinavian Fells and the warm dusty peaks of the Andes. They strive to combine minimalist design with warmth, traditional craft with new technology and sensitive responsibility with fresh concepts.

I had the chance to try out my two favorites: The Luft throw and the Fjun Levåtå pillow. I love the gradual gradient of the throw, which is created by the finest textures in the beautiful fibres of the Peruvian baby alpaca wool. It’s a very light, soft and flowy blanket, that is very warm at the same time. Combined with the sheered alpaca pillow these two products added instant coziness to my living room. I think it’s so nice how textiles can update the whole look and season of a room and I like that depending on the way you place the blanket, it adds dark or light grey to the couch. I’m sure these products will last for years to come and would love to cuddle myself up in the couch right now with a good book.

Comptoir des objets

Textile designer and poet William Morris once said: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”. I couldn’t agree more! I always look for beautiful everyday objects that don’t only serve their purpose extremely well, but that I’m proud to expose.

Last week I received an enamel baking set that is both beautiful and functional. The pieces are not only great for baking, but also beautiful to put on the table. The set is one of the many beautiful objects that you can find at Comptoir des Objets, which literally translates to ‘cabinet of objects’. They have a wonderful collection of carefully selected high quality everyday objects which are not meant to be hidden away in the cupboard. I really like their selection, which has so many authentic, simple and beautifully crafted objects for the kitchen, bathroom, storage and dining table.

I used the set to prepare my own crunchy chocolate muesli and a home made bread. I loved that I could take them straight from the oven to the table for serving. The bowls are so simple and pretty that I can use them for many other things, like serving salads or holding fruits. I just know I will have this set for many years to come and can’t wait to try out some new baking recipes that will look beautiful on my table.

Lyngby vase giveaway

When the Lyngby vase was originally released in 1936, it had a very unique and modern aesthetic for that time, which contrasted with the traditional ornamental techniques, paintings and details common back then. Its design was inspired by the functional Bauhaus movement in Germany and the shape in itself is enough – no ornaments or brushes needed. The original Lyngby Vase from Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark – Lyngby Porcelæn has the well known, hand printed monogram on the bottom.

This is exactly what I like about this classic vase: it’s simple but yet has such a powerful effect in an interior. I combined it with the modern Chapeau, designed by Milia Seyppel in 2011, who graduated from the Bauhaus University in Weimar. I like this combination of the round curves of Chapeau with the static and simple lines of the classic vase. I have been moving this trio around the house and it basically looks good anywhere.

If you would like this classic design in your home as well, you are in luck: until Sunday midnight Berlin time, you can win your own Lyngby vase (20 cm). All you have to do is follow @lyngbyporcelain on Instagram and leave a comment on this blogpost about where you would place the vase in your home. Good Luck !

I love it when the spring sunlight beams through the windows. It makes everything so much prettier and it has such a positive effect on you. I changed things around a bit and like the plants in this corner of our dining area.

So refreshing to have the living room all clean and organized. Lets see how long this is going to last though. The Gem print on the shelf is something I’m working on right now and I hope to have it in my shop soon.
