Coral
When we were in Brazil a few weeks ago, I found this coral on the beach. I like this souvevenir that turned into a deco object.
Normann Copenhagen giveaway: The Winner
Thank you so much for all your really sweet comments and for participating on the giveaway I was hosting together with Normann Copenhagen. 150 of you participated, so it was a little much to reply to all of your comments personally, but know that I read every single one of them.
The lucky (and random) winner of the Geo set is Linda Wilson, congratulations Linda ! You will receive a personal email soon so we can arrange for you to receive the price.
Normann Copenhagen giveaway
There still a long winter time ahead of us (at least here in Berlin it has been quite a mild winter for now) but I’m already very much looking forward to spring. As much as I like winter decorations, I get pretty excited about some colored items at home when spring is around the corner.
You already saw the Normann Copenhagen Buk legs in our dining room before, which now I paired up with a tin white plywood top. I like how this way all the attention goes to the beautifully crafted wood legs.
On top of the table you can see the Geo set in soft pink, which is a dream come true for coffee lovers like us. I’m always a little careful with colors in our home, but these soft pink and nude tones are so delicate and subtle. I had been looking for a thermos for keeping coffee and tea during the day, but never found one that was worth leaving on the table as a decorative item like this one. Now Normann introduced storage jars, a milk jug and a tray to the Geo collection and I’m very happy to announce that I have teamed up with them for a giveaway. Now you can win a Geo Milk Jug, Sugar bowl, tray and Vacuum Jug for your home as well.
All you have to do to make a chance at winning this lovely set is visit the Normann Copenhagen website and add a comment to this blogpost with the color combination you’d like to win. The giveaway will run until midnight this Sunday (Berlin time) and the winner will be announced on Monday morning next week. Good luck to you all !
Fancy finger pillow and the after Christmas decorations gap
Christmas is over (I will miss the cozy times, but am excited for the new year), so I got rid of the little Christmas decorations we had in the house. There’s always this feeling of emptiness which I find quite boring right when you take away these decorations, so this new Fancy Finger pillow by Lucky boy Sunday was exactly the playful element our living room needed. It’s such a soft piece. I also got the Menu wire basket I had been eyeing on for a long time to store blankets and placed my ‘Scratched Calendar’ above the sofa.
All organized
I always have a lot of clips, rulers, stickers, notebooks … you name it, laying around on my desk. Designing and shipping posters has made it quite challenging to keep my desk organised to say the least. I got this Vitra toolbox from my boyfriend as a Christmas present (together with this glass paperweight, and the Tom Dixon golden ruler). It certainly made my job of organising (and find things back more importantly) a lot easier and I love how it looks on my desk.
Some last Christmas additions
I still can’t believe how fast Christmas has come this year. For all I know, it was just a few days ago that we said goodbye to summer. That (and the busy holiday shipping times for my shop) probably explains why I’m so late with my Christmas decorations this year. They kind of came to appear gradually: first a little on the table, now on the cupboard. I’ve added some plants inside our glass domes (a pine and a tropical non-christmas kind) and laid out some decorations on two Broste Copenhagen Esrum plates. I like the results, which we will enjoy for two more days, before we are travelling to Belgium and Porto.
A hint of Christmas in our home
I’m all for Christmas markets with a lot of Christmas lights and jingle bells, but at home, I like to keep the Christmas decorations simple. I just bought some eucalyptus and a pine branch, which I spread over different vases in our home and planted a little flower in my Iittala candle holder. I think this little setting on our table came out nicely and I certainly like to look at it in the cold evenings.
Winter light in our bedroom
This weekend our heating in our apartment broke down. As much as I like winter coziness and cuddling up in wool blankets, I did not appreciate this cold temperatures in our home. I was able to catch this beautiful winter light beaming through our bedroom window this weekend, that was lovely.
Bedsheets and pillows from Mikmax // side table from &Tradition // Mountain pillow from Markrun // and Plug lamp from Atelje Lyktan
Warm knits and textures in my living room: I’m all ready for winter.
My winter favorites: Vida hanging lamp – Onuma rice cups – Karby wool blanket – Kinna flower pot – Vida brass table lamp – Alashan pillow – Sabarmati pillow – Teesta rug
This weekend it became clear, very clear: the winter is coming to Berlin and temperatures lowered already. I’m not quite used to it yet, but I’m looking forward to these cosy times with tea, wool socks and cuddly blankets. So when online market place Urbanara asked me if I wanted to try out some of my winter favourites from their collection, I immediately became all excited about winter and all its coziness.
Their collection consists out of a wide range of quality home accessoires produced over the entire world out of the best materials and traditional processes. By offering the products straight to their customers, without third party suppliers, they are able to offer high quality products within an accessible price range. My favourites for this winter are a mix of soft textures, brass, greys and blues. I’m really into blue lately and I like how it breaks the grey winter feeling a little.
In my own living room you can see the Teesta rug in light grey, which gives the room a perfect soft touch. I like that it’s wool, warm and cozy, but it’s short and easy to clean. The different tints of grey of the sofa, coffee table and rug look nice together I think. On the coffee table you can see a hint of blue of the Onuma rice cups, combined with a brass flower pot and lastly for ultimate coziness there is the Danish Karby wool blanket waiting for me to cuddle under. I feel so ready for winter now.
