Cane-line garden dining area in Belgium

post

AD – Yesterday I showed you the house in Belgium which is still a work in progress and an exciting project I will be working on in the coming months, stay tuned! I moved apartments in Munich at the end of last year and unfortunately had to give up my balcony with the lounge from Cane-line which was so nice about the previous apartment (you win some you lose some right?). Luckily the house in Belgium has a big garden, which is the ideal place for an outside dining area.

In between two very old trees on the side of the house, I made a dining area with the Cane-line Area table and the beautiful Ocean soft rope chairs. I love the way the black aluminum of the furniture stands out against the old walls and windows of the house. The chairs are super comfortable yet very lightweight for moving them around and the table has a hole in the middle for an umbrella in summer. Both the table and the chairs are weatherproof and easy to clean, which is the case for all Cane-line outdoor furniture. I can’t wait to get back to Belgium soon and enjoy some late summer nights here at this table.

Muse vases by Fundamental Berlin

post

Ad – I received the beautiful Muse vases from Fundamental Berlin recently and they add the perfect touch of summer to my dining area in my kitchen. The Muse vases are made in collaboration with Berliner florist Marsano and artisanal glassblowers in Bohemia. Each vase is voluptuous and unique, yet slightly asymmetric which makes them so special. I think they look so great together or on their own. I combined the large vase in the color Saffron with the medium size in clear copper and their shape, color, and difference in size make them real eye-catchers for this season. It makes me happy every time I look at them.

Sunday tea break

post

First weekend back home and I have missed those Sunday afternoon moments so much. It has been rainy weather all day, but I don’t let it stop me from recharging my batteries and getting ready for the workweek to come. I got a new pillowcase* from Arket with a beautiful zebra pattern. I love the graphic touch it adds to the bedroom and the way it contrasts with my chequered blanket. With the pillowcase I also got a simple chrome tray* which is perfect for my tea, but I think I will soon be using it on my shelf for decorating as well.

Tints of blue in my shelf

post

Remember I showed you how I did a slight decor change in my dining area on Sunday ? I have been organising my home over the weekend and this inspired me to restyle every single surface in my home. Even though the change is tiny, I love to play around with the details and make small setups like this one. I’m happy to have found a place for my vintage camera again as well, which was tucked away in a drawer. I should do shopping in my home more regularly.

Green outside my office window

post

My home office looks out on a little park, which is such a nice feature in this apartment. During spring though, the trees started to grow leaves (as they do), but they also take so much more daylight away now. I have a lamp in my window sill, which can be dimmed, so when it’s a rainy day, I like to turn this one on and since the light source is still directed into the room from the window, it feels more natural than turning the pendant light on.

As you might know, I love switching up the styling in my windows, and currently, I have a mixture of brass, white and warm tints in there. I also got this sculptural ceramic storage piece from Arket* recently, which adds such a lovely texture to the window.

Blue and beige in my dining area

post

Those of you who follow me here or on Instagram know I love small touches of blue throughout my interior. I love the way they pair up with warm beiges and black accents for contrast. I did a slight adjustment to the styling in my dining area and I love the way the Muuto Kink vase in baby blue* stands out on the cupboard in combination with my new Folded no.1 art print.

On Sundays I always try to take half an hour to plan out the coming workweek and it puts me in a productive mindset. It feels like I can take a jump start into the week knowing exactly the things I need to do and when I will be doing them.

In my bedroom window sill

post

This weekend is all about organizing my home for me, as it got a little out of hand in the last few weeks. When things are organized it’s just so much easier to get motivated and be productive I think, that’s why I’m dedicating this weekend to having things in place. This morning I got a little distracted and styled the window sill, which is something I love to play around with. I’m lucky enough to live in an old building that has these very deep window sills, which are ideal for styling. I love adding a mirror, which reflects the space and the daylight (win-win), and recently got this beautiful speckled dish* for my hairpins, which fits in perfectly here.

Beige and blue in my bedroom

post

Those of you who follow me for a while know that blue is my favorite color, both in fashion and interior. I love blue tints combined with warm beiges and black and white, resulting in a look that is both cool and warm at the same time. I have combined two velvet pillowcases* with my baby blue HAY crinkled plaid for a fresh effect. On the wall, you can see my Folded no.1 art print, which adds a touch of beige to warm up the look.

A quiet Sunday

post

Sunday is the quietest day here and I love to take the time to rest and get ready for the new week. I usually do some planning for the week to come, because it makes me feel more prepared, but mostly I like to stay in bed, have coffee, read, and just generally enjoy some chill time before the workweek takes off again.

This week I released a new print in my shop: Folded no.1 – which you can see above my bed. It’s a reproduction of one of my original Gouache paintings on watercolor paper and I love the way the stripes go with the chequered wool blanket* on the bed.

Moment of quiet in my dining area

post

I love taking these quiet breaks away from my desk and the dining area is a perfect spot for it. I tend to fall into the trap of spending such long hours in front of my computer, with my productivity decreasing over time without noticing. I find that a small break resets your brain and you are able to start a new session at your computer which is just so much more productive.

The dining area is my favorite part of my home so far and even though it’s still missing a pendant light, which would complete the look of this space, it’s the most finished area in my home and the one where I most enjoy spending my time. I love interchanging the print above the cupboard (currently I have my Black Beach art print there) and playing around with the decor and details on both the cupboard and the window sill. I’m still so in love with my Confetti vases from Arket* which contrast so nicely with the black in the print and the pink in the orchid flower I have there. The Confetti pattern is so perfect for spring as well and I love the playful touch it adds to the decor.

My oak seed stopped growing, as I think it has reached its limits of how tall it can get while being in water, but I think I will keep it in the vase as it has a perfect size for this spot in the window.
