Transition your bed into a lounge area during the day

post

As I live in an apartment in the city of Munich, like many of you I don’t have such large rooms and when moving into this place I decided to have the bedroom in the smallest room. The bedroom basically consists out of the bed and my Montana wardrobe, but I think it works out nicely and I don’t have the feeling of being cramped.

On the weekends especially, I like to spend time reading and having coffee on the bed and I transition the bedroom from a place to sleep into a cozy lounge area. I mostly keep my bedsheets in neutral colors (I have beige and white sets) so that I can play with the throw pillows and blankets to finish off the look. I keep the Muuto restore basket* on my wardrobe to store the throw pillows while I sleep and I don’t have any more on the bed as I can store. I think decorating a bed can be so nice, but if you don’t know where to put the pillows when they are not in use it can just become an annoyance.

I finish off the bed with a sheepskin, my favorite wool blanket from Arket* and a mixture of beige pillows to create a cozy atmosphere during the day, which is stored away very quickly once it’s time to go to bed. When you keep your bedsheets neutral, you can change up the look with different pillow cases for the throw pillows. I’m a big fan of the linen pillow cases from H&M Home* as they are affordable and come in a variety of beautiful colors to change up your look.

Radice Sleep

post

I always spend so much time and attention to the look and feel of the interior of my bedroom, as I think it should be a place to bring your mind to rest, but I didn’t realise sleepwear is a really big part of this as well. I got to try out this beautiful silk nightshirt from Radice Sleep (gifted) and slept like a baby. Radice Sleep designs and produces luxurious pyjamas with a modern twist out of the finest silk (a sustainable material). I picked out a nightshirt, eye-mask, and pillowcase in the ‘Aves’ design, which is inspired by Japanese aesthetic and philosophical ideas. The Aves print with white piping symbolizes luck, marital fidelity, and long life.

If  you who would like to try the Radice sleepwear for yourself, you can get 15% on their website with the code GETCOSY15 until February 15th

Cozy Sunday bedroom

post

Happy Sunday! I received these beautiful ribbed glass vessels from Arket the other day and they are making my bedroom so cozy, perfect for a Sunday morning coffee moment. I got both the big vase* and the small bowl* and I love the way the ribbed glass still lets the candle light through though in a blurred way.

The chequered black and white blanket* is also from Arket and the print is the ‘Kamut’ art print from my own collection.

Office view

post

Office by day, paint studio by night. I have been enjoying painting during these cozy winter evenings and weekends after not picking up a brush in a while, so nice to get back to it.

Sunday bedroom

post

Last day of resting and taking it slow before the first workweek of the year starts. The last weeks of the year were different, to say the least, but I did really enjoy consciously taking the time to reset my mind and body, which did wonders for my creative energy.

I will certainly try to take more moments of rest during the year, more than I did last year because I think it will make me more productive and creative overall.

Blanket from Klippan from Arket*
Kamut art print from my shop
Tibetan Sheepskin from Bloomingville
Striped cup from Studio Oyama
Sild tray from Skagerak
Mirror* and standing lamp* from Ferm Living

Cozy in my living room

post

I realised I didn’t really show you my new home here on the blog before (you can see more pictures on my Instagram feed though). This afternoon I’m making it extra cozy in the living room with candles and coffee, the perfect break for me. I received this beautiful Vinga blanket from Arket* – it’s made out of the softest lambswool and it has been keeping me warm on the sofa.

Apart from the warm cover, I also love the way a simple addition like a blanket can change the mood and vibe of the room. Just lovely.

Subtile hints of Christmas with Georg Jensen

post

Spending so much time at home in the past few weeks has made me want to light candles at all times and make it even more cozy inside, even though the weather has been so sunny here in Munich. I personally find it a little bit too early for a Christmas tree, but I introduced some small hints of Christmas from the Georg Jensen Christmas collection in my home and it’s getting me in a festive mood.

I like my Christmas decorations simple and subtile, yet I think these 18kt. gold plated brass and palladium plated brass accessories and collectibles add such a difference to my interior. The pieces are small and subtile, but because they have the iconic Georg Jensen reflective surfaces, they really stand out and have a great impact on the space.

I have used the 18kt. gold plated brass trays and tealight holders on my dining table. One of the trays is holding the 2020 Calendar Candle, ready to be lit on December 1st, while the other one is holding dried orange slices and mini pine cones, which match the 18 kt. gold plated stainless steel so nicely. I think the tealight holders are the highlight in this setting as they make the light coming from the candle even warmer and they cast such a pretty reflection on the table.

In my office I have made a little bouquet out of eucalyptus and dried flowers, which is season appropriate yet not full-on Christmas yet if you know what I mean. I have decorated the arrangement with the 2020 Christmas collectibles in palladium plated brass which each by themselves are a true work of art. The little Christmas bells can actually ring (nice touch) and I will be using some of them as a decoration on my Christmas presents. I think this is such a nice little extra and the receiver will be able to use it in their home as well as a little piece of Christmas decor.

This blogpost was created in collaboration with Georg Jensen, however all opinions are my own of course. If you would like to know more about the 2020 Christmas collection, have a look on their website.

LAFUMA MOBILIER in my home

post

I have known LAFUMA MOBILIER for a long time, especially when creating a ‘home away from home’ while camping. Their comfortable folding chairs are something I have been using since childhood. The brand launched the first series of seats in metal and cotton canvas in 1954 and they made a mark because they were foldable, simple and practical: the perfect companion for weekends and holidays.

LAFUMA MOBILIER teamed up with the leather craftsmen at Bleu de Chauffe for a 100% French collaboration: The LISON collection. You can see the beautiful LISON Armchair in my living room. It has a beautiful white metal frame, which is so iconic for the LAFUMA MOBILIER furniture, paired up with a sturdy natural leather seat and backrest.

The LISON collection is a brand collaboration between two companies which both represent the French ‘Savoir Vivre’ in their brand values & craftsmanship. Both companies value thought and durable design characterised by the highest ecological standards and respect for nature. The choice of working together was a natural one and with the LISON collection they have combined special talent of both companies.

As you might know from my Instagram, I will be moving to a new apartment in the end of the month, and since these pieces are foldable they can be moved so effortlessly, allowing me to easily set them up in the new place before everything else gets assembled.

This post was made in paid collaboration with LAFUMA MOBILIER but all opinions are my own of course. If you would like to know more about the brand and their products, have a look on their website.

New Eau de Toilette from Skandinavisk

post

I have been a fan of the Skandinavisk home fragrances for a long time, so I was happy to discover that they released their first fragrances for the skin. I got to try out the Eau de Toilette kapitel 4: ‘Island Soltitude’ which harks back to early days exploring glittering Scandinavian waterways under sail. The fragrance is best described as ‘Marine Floral’ or as a giant’s stepping stones, a necklace of rocky shadows surrounded by glittering waterways. They have made beautiful videos that perfectly illustrate the three fragrances, each a reference to Scandinavia.

This blogpost was created in collaboration with Skandinavisk, however all opinions are my own of course. If you would like to know more about the brand and the Eau de Toilette Collection, have a look on their website.

Mirro lamps from Wever & Ducré

post

It has been getting so dark in the past few weeks and you can really see the mood changing because of the autumn light that is coming in. I love this change of seasons and like to cozy up with blankets and candles. It’s also the time of the year where I feel like moving things around in my home and change the look of my apartment, ready to be spending so much time here in the colder months.

I recently got to know Belgian lighting design company Wever & Ducré and was lucky enough to be trying out their MIRRO collection designed by 13&9 Design in my living room. The MIRRO luminaires incorporate a reflecting metallic surface element which resembles a mirror (hence the name) and creates a dynamic relationship between user, luminaire and light.

Wever & Ducré produces state-of-the-art LEDs that feel equally at home in a cosy attic apartment or in the hippest club in the city. Because they save space, save resources, and offer greater quality of life. The MIRRO collection consists out of a wall, ceiling, pendant, table and floor lamp. You can see the MIRRO suspended 2.0 above my dining table and the MIRRO 2.0 floor lamp in my living room. I have chosen a chrome version for both of the lamps, but you can also choose a gold finish for the metallic surface. The G96 LED lamps which can be seen in both of the lamps I have in my living room has a mirror surface as well, which matches the luminaires perfectly and it makes the light source soft for the eyes.

The pendant version fits perfectly above my round dining table and casts a beautiful warm glow while sitting here. The design is very minimal, yet the combination of the mirrored metal, the warm light and the black steel of the fixture has a powerful elegance, which fits perfectly in my home.

In my living room, you can see the floor version, which is more of a statement piece with the metal mirrored surface facing the room. I love that the floor lamp is dimmable, which makes this luminaire both a functional light as well as an atmospheric piece. When you dim down the MIRRO floor lamp all the way, it’s almost like you have a candle on, so cozy !
