Simple top floor apartment

post

I would love to live on an apartment on the top floor, preferably as nice as this one here. It seems so nice to be able to look over the trees and have a lot of light beaming into the living room. The interior in this apartment has been kept quit simple, which brings out the architectural lines the attic apartment brings.

Mid Century Apartment

post

Oh, how I love the way the built houses around a century ago… This apartment is filled with a stylish and light-filled atmosphere, provided by the large windows. And what is better than modern furniture and lighting to combine these old flooring and walls with ? I would move here in a second.

Another Ceramic Candlestick by Marie Dessuant

post

I really like it when an object serves multiple functionalities. If, more particularly, that object serves as a hiding place for small things, I’m getting even more enthusiastic! Another Ceramic Candlestick by Marie Dessuant is a product like that. It’s a candle holder, which can serve as a storage box as well. It comes in three different sizes and I think it’s gorgeous ! I don’t know about you guys, but I keep finding small things in my house that I can’t find a place for ( I think I need some candle-stick-hiding-places).

Saana Ja Olli – new collection

post

I was happy to notice Saana Ja Olli has a new collection. The print is called maailman synty, which means “The Birth of the world”, inspired by the age old creation myths and the rich Finnish wall rug tradition. I think it’s definitly a pretty and stylish print. I’m also happily surprised that they offer storage baskets now as well, I’m always a big fan of those.

Raw inspiration from Olsson and Jensen

post

This morning I’m very inspired by these pictures of Olsson and Jensen. They combine raw materials with vintage and some new items which gives a rustic effect to the interior. I think it’s always nice to have a combination of old and new in the house, it gives a home it’s own character and it instantly becomes so much more personal. To me, that’s what a home has to have, those personal elements, that make it your own.

Diy small storage boxes

post

I needed some new storage space, especially for very small things that always lay around the house, so I decided to make my own. I bought blank boxes in the craft store and drew on the smallest two boxes with a black marker. On the biggest one, I used a strip of Masking Tape to create the thick black line. I think they came out quit well, and it was easy to do.

I love the new Slow Wood collection that came out recently. A new collection of robust, yet subtle archetypical dining tables for any occasion. For the launch of this new product line, they worked together with Tatjana Quaz and Ben Lambers from Studio Aandacht in the Netherlands.

Bambi by Caroline Olsson

post

How cute is this bambi table by Caroline Olsson ? Actually it’s not only cute, it’s also very useful as it can be used as a coffee table, but also as a small dining table. The table is inspired by the anatomy of the knee, where the bones can only bend one way. The location and angle of the table legs, as well as the meeting points of the joints, help keeping the table upright and stable. When the table is folded down and used at the lower level it can give you associations to a small foal who has bent its legs and laid down to rest in the meadow. I would definitely want to add this small table to my home one day, how about you ?

Coppered – my favorites

post

What do you think of the Copper trend ? I like it a lot, to be honest. I think it goes really well with wood, white and other natural colors in a home. I made a collection of my favorite copper objects, from which I  think the copper really adds delicacy to the design. What are your favorite copper items, you would buy for your house ?
